I purchased this because I left my front door unlocked for couple times. Since I have bought it I've had no problems.

Love that you can remotely monitor and unlock your home with this. It even allows you to make temporary guest passes.

I now have two of these in my house. I love that I can check the status of my locks anywhere - I have maids that come into the home when I'm away and I know when they arrived and when they leave and if they locked the door when they leave. Recently they left the door unlocked while I was out of the country and I was able to lock the door myself remotely. Also I have automation set up so my back door unlocks when I get home, one less thing to fumble with on coming home!

I actually purchased two of these at Best Buy, but I'm leaving reviews anywhere I can in hopes I'll help someone else keep from making the same mistake I did in purchasing this. We own a bed and breakfast and a home we do AirBNB with in a city 550 miles away. We wanted an electronic lock solution which would make guest access a snap to give us and our guests more freedom to come and go at will without us having to issue front door keys to people we do not know. On paper, this looked like exactly the solution we were looking for. First, the unit is quite easy to install on your existing deadbolt hardware. I was super impressed with how well engineered it was from this aspect. The disappointment started with how klunky getting the app to work on guest's phones is. There is one thing more frustrating than watching a guest waste 10-15 minutes of their vacation time trying to get the lock to work and that is being locked out of your own app and not being able to get it to work yourself. The app refused to recognize my password and on top of that refused to recognize one of the two recovery codes they sent. Finally after an hour of that madness I gave up. I wish I would have looked at reviews online before purchasing these in-store on the recommendation of a store clerk. The app simply is not easy to use and seeing other reviews, we are not the only ones who keep experiencing bugs with it. It is just plain awful and unreliable. I give August kudos for well engineered hardware, but that is essentially a $225 lock handle since the app which is supposed to make it work is essentially useless for the purpose it is supposed to be designed for. We are returning ours, this simply is not a very reliable platform to work with. Look elsewhere, this is not the system you want!

Best looking and functional smart lock on the market. No reason to make you house look horrible just change the front.

There is a ton to love about this lock. Great app easy to install. There are a few quirks Thay keep it from being 5. The biggest problem is the auto unlock rarely opens as you get to the door.

Fairly easy to install as long as you understand how the different connector pieces work that go between the August lock and the existing lock mechanism. It was a bit frustrating to set up the Bluetooth connection but it eventually worked.

Took us a few trial runs to figure it all out but seems to be working the way we want- I would advise buying the keyboard and the extra wifi thingy (husband picked up couple weeks after we installed because we realized we really needed it)
