Love this product! It's great having the door unlock as I approach snd to tell my phone to lock the door.

I got this lock because it works perfectly with my Comcast system! It was easy to install! Great product!

it took me only 10 mins to install and setup. now i can monitor my door lock from anywhere!

This is meant for a deadbolt lock and not your primary door lock. It was easy to install and configure.

Works flawlessly with apple HomeKit. This lock is one if the best ones out in the market.

My only problem with this lock is it's decides when it want to Auto unlock. Other than that very responsive when you tell it to lock or unlock and the auto lock feature is great

My son loves it! He was able to install himself in less than hour. He says it easy to work.

I'm looking for Apple HomeKit compatibility and the August Smart Lock provides this in spades.

The reviews seemed decent and the features of the lock looked great, others must had just had a difficult time installing; I said. When I installed it the auto unlocking worked maybe 1 out of 10 times (using IOS and Android). I also purchased the Wi-Fi connect so we could control it remotely, but this ended up being a haphazard operation as well. I was stuck fumbling for my phone, unlocking it, then opening the smart app, and then finally manually unlocking my door consistently. The remote unlock for Wi-Fi was a hit or miss, and the August lock did not record every transaction. The lock would auto unlock while I was home, at midnight, 3am, 6am, etc. I called August for help, and didn't get any. They said that I am most likely in-between cell towers and nothing could be done on their end. I had already adjusted the geo fence settings before the call and the only way the rep could troubleshoot is adjusting the geofencing again, but it kept randomly unlocking the door while I was home. The auto lock feature works by choosing a timer delay to auto lock 15,30,45,60 sec, etc., but have the door open longer than that and it will extend the deadbolt and hopefully your kid doesn’t go to slam the door shut. To make matters worse the lock will automatically unlock while your sleeping. I've removed it and apparently, it's too late to return after 20 days, so I'm stuck with an expensive lesson. I was upset with Best Buy and the 14 day return policy, I mean it took me about 10 days to get around to installing the thing! All around it’s an awesome concept but goes to show you how corporations would rather sell a faulty product and rake in the money rather than create a usable product. When I mentioned this to the manager at Best Buy that they should consider not carrying it anymore because it does not work, the manager looked at me with a dumbfounded look on his face and said so “You should have returned it in 14 days.” To which I replied; “No, I should have bought it from anywhere else.” DO NOT buy this lock if you're looking to secure your home at least not until they fix all the issues they are having with them, probably 5th or 6th gen. :-)

Works best with Allle HomeKit in my opinion, but also works with Alexa and Google as well

Unlocks when i get home, and auto locks 2 min after shutting the door. Love it!

The reason why I gave this product 4 stars was because I can't unlock/lock it from a distance since I don't have the august connect. Other than that, the unlocking feature as I'm walking up to the door is convenient.

We have one on the house and one on the shop and they have been very reliable.

August lack of a more inclusive system makes this lock a great lock for a select group of people. The build quality is great but it's lack of support for most apartment style locks makes it a hard lock to recommend.

...but not as cute! Anyway, I live in a condo and I've connected my door lock to my cell phone (duh!) and my Alexa. When my 'Ring' door bell uhh.. rings, I check my phone & see who's there. If it's my ex-wife I ask her nicely to go away. If it's my BFF with a cold 6-pack, I tell Alexa to unlock the door and said BFF walks his @ss upstairs. It's a bit rude for me not to greet him, but hey, that's why we're besties!

This was a very easy to install deadbolt and it was simple to connect to for wireless operation.
