Its a very good movie about family life how depression and substance abuse can affect a family and how people grow from their childhood experiences to adulthood. This movies shows how life is in reality of how we deal with issues that happen to us while growing up and how to deal with it as adults. This movie shows reality in all of us how we deal with social issues as a family.

The acting is super, those that are over the top do so and does that have to be low keyed do so. All in all the casting and the great acting make this a very wonderful movie. It showcases how families interact and all the dysfunctions that go into a family and how pride stands firm even unto the fall.

This was an excellent movie, with strong women as leading actors (which is difficult to find). The acting was excellent, all the way around. The viewer must be patient and interested in the characters and their plights in order to enjoy. I think this would definitely appeal to women rather than men.

meryl streep was really great at making you dispise her a truly horrible person with little to no redeeming factors. I also admire Julia Roberts for allowing herself to look ordinary which is not easy for her to accomplish great supporting cast as well

Seriously funny, tragic and real all at once. Terrific cast - it is great to have three of my all time favorite people on screen at the same time - Roberts, Lewis and Nicholson - wow! We also see why Meryl Streep has such a collection of oscars.

The story line was so interesting. It kept me watching because I did not expect the ending. I would like the story to to continue because the movie's ending left a gap.

i am a huge Meryl Streep fan and have to view everything she does! this is not a movie i would recommend. someone has to want to see it for their own reasons.

Saw this movie with my mom in theaters and had to buy it for her for her birthday. It was quite relatable on different levels. A drama that had it's fair share of great one liners along with it's dramatic moments. Awesome movie.

Another good performance Merle Streep is a star. Lots of drama keeps the viewer fully engaged. Wish the language was not so strong.

I thought that it was a little hard to follow but the cast was good. It did have me laughing at some points.
