Offered a blue tooth auto unlock feature but also included a confusing perimeter feature that requires you to leave your area before the lock went into an away mode and therefore activating the Bluetooth return unlock mode. Also featured having your blue tooth device with you (E.g. your smartphone) to unlock the door. OR you would need a hidden key available to access the now locked door OR you would want to buy the optional $50 plus digital keypad to access your locked door.

The august lock with the smart connect adds a lot of control to front-door key-less entry. It's specially useful when you leave the house and forget to lock the door and/or when someone is visiting that you know and they arrive before you. The only problem we have run into is that it occasionally loses connectivity so we will see some failed attempts. This is scary if you don't know whether the door really locked or not. Overall its a nice product, just needs some fine tuning.

This is going back to the Philippines with my minimalist son who doesn't even like to carry keys. Did 4 stars because I haven't actually used it myself, but he was thrilled with the gift.

I love it. It's like having extra key with you all the time. Use phone app to unlock the door and door locks automatically after a minute. Peace of mind.

I love the August locks, they install super easy and work really well, it’s just annoying having to replace the batteries every several months.

Lesser, but works just as well as August Lock Pro+. The only thing missing is a connection to Alexa or the Google Home Assistant, but if you dont care for that, you can unlock when you are close to the lock via Bluetooth with your smartphone, or if you add the separate August Connect from afar via wifi connectivity. Highly recommend.

The lock works well and was thoughtfully constructed to make installation a snap. I was done in about 10 minutes for installation. The lock works quickly to connect via bluetooth and unlock the door. The cost of the wifi bridge for the unit is the loss of 1 star. It should be built into the lock, but likely because the lock runs off of AA batteries the bridge would just drain it too fast.

It too a bit to install since our original lock wasn’t compatible, but once I worked around that this thing is amazing. I love ours.

Works very well. I can now go to my door with an arm full of groceries and my door unlocks automatically as long as I have my iPhone with me.

This lock works exactly as advertised and provides an easy way to enter your home without messing with keys and also locks itself as you leave.

I like that the lock uses your current dead bolt so there is no need to rekey the unit. It works well with the app if you buy the wifi adapter. I mainly purchased a unit for use with Alexa. It works good with Alexa but asks to many questions once the door locks or unlocks. Keeps asking you if you want to know the status of the door. So once I tell Alexa to lock the door , I say cancel. Seems to work.

Went with August lock system on advice from a friend. We've had this a few years now and still love it. We never have to worry about taking keys and can check on the status of the lock from anywhere. The best thing about this system is the ease at which you can program different access codes and the times they are active. Great if you have a dog walker, cleaning service, etc. It also logs activity which has been very useful.

The lock was easy to install. Nice UI on the app. I like that I can physically lock/unlock if I choose. The bluetooth connection isn't the best. Everytime I leave I have to reconnect my phone to it. But that only takes a few seconds. Supposedly if you get the internet hub thing that wouldn't be an issue (not sure on that). Overall I would recommend.

This is designed so smart that it’s simple to use- and reliable. Much better than previous keypad locks.

The age of the Smart Lock is here. The August lock is really really simple to install, and when you pair it with IFTTT, it's even more amazing! We have are set to automatically lock 5 minutes after we get home. It also automatically unlocks when we get home, and through IFTTT it also turns on the hallway light when the door is unlocked and then when you lock the door the hallway light goes out. Brilliant!

I bought this lock looking for ease of use when getting home and having my hands full. I works for that purpose MOST of the time. I wanted to stick with the same brand so I also purchased a doorbell camera and that hardly works. I know I need to have my wireless router closer for them to work all of the time but I can't move it. It senses when you are home and auto unlocks and I can see who is coming and going at my house to let my dogs out when I'm not there. If you open the program to use unlock/lock it manually it takes forever to run and find the lock through Bluetooth connection when you are standing in front of it which I attribute to bad software on the app. Overall, the hardware is good and super easy to install, you can use it with your existing lock if you want. The software/app is horrible so I wish I had spent my money on a different system even though they are pricy.

This is my second smart lock. My wife wanted a lock that would open when she arrived home. It works flawlessly. I can control it with Alexa, which makes it extremely convenient. It is also very easy to install. One other nice feature is the easy access to the battery compartment, although I haven't had to change batteries to date. Good product!

I looked into smart locks because I have to now have a sitter to watch my son. So instead of giving out keys I thought it was a better investment to purchase a smart lock. This lock is great! Super easy to install and use. It was confusing when purchasing b/c it seemed like the connect did not need to be purchased. However, if you do want to unlock the lock remotely you will need the august connect as well. Other than that, it is a great lock and I'm happy I got it.

Installed easily, works well for the most part. I bought the bridge for auto-unlock via my cell phone. Way too much lag time if it worked, plus not happy to have location on, on my phone. I did buy the keypad and that has worked flawlessly. Over all for the money a good lock especially if you do not want have to change your house key.
