I love the August lock. Ended up having to return this model (Smart Lock Pro) and instead purchased the regular Smart Lock (2019 model). Both work the same and connect to WiFi using the August Connect device (included in both packages I purchased). The Pro model is rather large (significantly larger than a typical deadbolt; my guess is a little smaller than a softball). For our front door, the molding protrudes preventing the Pro from fitting (the side clasps could not be fully extended to mount it). Options were to either modify the door or get another product. The regular (capsule shaped) Smart Lock fit better for us. If your door is flat on the inside, either should work fine. Installation was easy. I had a question about calibrating the deadbolt position - called August tech support and the tech actually used FaceTime to guide me through it all using a demo product (so I could see her do it and she could see it work at my house). Really great customer service.

In the beginning I had a bit of a hard time installing this, my own fault, as this is pretty easy to install. Nonetheless I was able to install this very easily on the door, and it works great. I don't have to remember to lock the door on my way out and it recognizes me when I come home. Keep in mind that with an Android phone, according to the manufacturer does not always work for the unlock. I find that it works most the time, sometimes it does not. controlling it through my phone with the connect device that comes in the package, but is installed separately is so good. it also allows you to keep your current deadbolt without having to change. Just make sure that you are sure that your deadbolt is qualify to work with this device as not all deadbolt work with this lock. one of the best on the market right now and I got it for a great price when it was on sale a few weeks ago, under $200.

Was skeptical at first about this lock. I have tried the second generation, and ended up taking it back because of it being such a pain to install. The install time for this was less than 10 minutes. I must commend August for making the setup process so easy through the app, they provide video with detailed instructions, The connect is a great way to be able too access the lock when you are away from home. It is even smart enough to unlock when your phone is near using your phone GPS through app. The door sensor is a great way to add even further automation. It is included with the connect. This allows you to have the door auto lock after it is shut. Sensor knows if door is open or not, and alerts you if door is opened for too long. You can get time preferences in the august app.

I was looking for something that did not advertise itself on the outside (or that my digs could destroy while outside). It also needed to make life easier rather than being just another thing to manage. This lock fits the bill. it was easy to install and so far it is working well! I like that i can control it via Alexa (with a passcode) and trigger IFTTT applets based on actions like my wife unlocking the door. The flexibility to assign codes and digital keys to different people is pretty cool and with our Ring doorbell, I can virtually answer the door and let people in remotely (like the handyman). I have purchased the keypad as well, but have yet to install it. My life loves the auto unlock feature when her phone connects to the home wifi. All in all, I am very happy with our August lock!

I love the smartlock pro. It's a bit big, but it's worlds better than the standard august lock. Much quieter! I love the away function, which locks the door automatically if I leave a specific radius, and unlocks it when I return home. I will also admit that I like the notifications and records. Since I travel a lot, I feel much less nervous when I am gone.

August was an easy install and allows you to keep your current deadbolt key. Linking to bridge was a snap and the bridge does not take up a port on the router. Many setup options using the phone app and very user friendly.

I was going to opt for the Nest Yale Lock which is available for a comparable price but my wife wanted to continue to use house keys. That's the main difference between the smart locks as far as I can see. We're absolutely delighted with the August, it's magical to a point. It unlocks the door as we walk towards the house. If I have one tip and that's to invest in the pin/keycode additional panel (which is kind of expensive at $50) - but it makes a huge difference being able to allocate PIN codes to people. All in all - strongly recommended. Just make sure you measure your door before purchasing because it's quite a large device and we only managed to get ours installed by mounting it on an extra panel of wood.

So it took me a while to finally decide to purchase the August Smart Lock Pro and I am so happy that I have. I do live in a high rise building with good security yet always struggled with access for the children and visitors. The features for the August Smart Lock Pro alleviated all of my concerns of lost keys and inconsistent security as a result. It was so easy for my wife and I to get our children, family and friends who visit all their specific access to make all of our lives easier. I only wish I had this technology available ten years ago when I had the old-school electronic keypad devices.

I've been an August owner since the first version of this lock, and there's not a whole lot to say other than it works and looks nice. It really shines when used in conjunction with the August doorbell and/or keypad -- having all of those work together and integrate within the same app is really nice.

I bought my house with a preinstalled August Gen 1 lock. It was nothing but problems and their customer support was highly lacking. I could never even connect to it. So, I was a little hesitant to buy the latest generation, but I already have the camera and its ability to seamlessly integrate into one app is exactly what I wanted. The new lock works great! I can lock/unlock from my Apple Watch, give my parents guest keys through the app, and more. I am really happy I gave this lock a shot.

Good product and a little pricey even at sale price. relatively easy to install. One downside is that it seems to go through batteries very quickly.

Works great when you want to keep your keys and current deadbolt. Install was a breeze, and the app works well on an iPhone. Added to 2 doors in my house and added the August Keypad as well. Connection has been rock solid, and can check my lock status and oak and unlock remotely. I can unlock my doors with my phone, keys, or the August keypad now. Tried the Nest X Yale lock as well, but never went through the install because I had to make a larger deadbolt hole on my door...too much hassle. This was seamless, and the app works well. Plus, it works with any and all smart home platforms, wifi or Bluetooth.

I own a Kēvo generation 1 smart lock. I’ve read good things about August and wanted to give it a shot, having experienced some frustration with Kēvo. I’m fat and away very much impressed with the smart lock, it’s very easy to set up and although ridiculous looking on the inside, gives no hint of a smart lock outside (I see this as a major plus.) I’m not sure how long batteries will last but many of the features are convenient and make life easy. The connection from the app to the smartlock is very fast whether on Bluetooth or using the remote feature.

A little bulky but easy to operate and very convenient mobile app. Easy installation.

It is easy to install and works fairly well. It is a little slow to open when I get home sometimes. But other than that, it works pretty well. It would be great if there was a feature for it to automatically lock when you are far away from it, instead of automatically locking at a set time. By automatically locking at a set time, you could find yourself locked out if you go take the trash out or something without your keys or your phone.

Installation was simple, took 30 minutes from start to finish. I bought this because my kids were constantly forgetting their keys at home when leaving for school. I can let them in from anywhere just by a click on my phone. Not to mention they can download the app on their phone as well, they never forget their phones. I can unlock the door before getting out of my car when I have groceries. Just a must have for a Mom on the go. Wish I got it sooner.

This lock was very easy to install. The app setup was equally easy. This has been a real convenience letting us as well as others in and out of the house. We can use the app or just tell siri/alexa to lock or unlock the door. Love it!!!

I had the geek squad install this product on my front door and I loved it so much I also purchased one for my back door. My entire family is super happy with the ability to do it all through their phones and from upstairs.
