This is sooooooooo convenient. I have my pet walkers, guests, family and maintenance folks use the temp digital key i gave them. I can see when they come and go. I can see when i come and go and when the door is opened "manually" with a key and with the app. I love the fact that when it senses my phone via bluetooth it opens the doors. Super helpful when i have my hands full with packages or groceries. I bought two more for family members and they LOVE IT. FYI... we are all non-techy other than text messages and asking google or Siri for help and it's really easy to use. The step-by-step app instructions help so much. Just try it out and you'll be sold. If not, you can return it.

I grew up in the country, so locking doors was always a foreign concept for me when I moved to a more populated area. In fact, I rarely ever did. Now, with the August Lock + Connect, I don't have to even think about it. The lock was super easy to install and setup with my iPhone and integrate with HomeKit. The app walks you through all aspects of the installation and setup. Even someone who's not remotely technical/handy would be able to set it up. HomeKit integration is essential and I setup the August Lock along with a fake switch with HomeBridge so I can lock/unlock my door via Geofence without any sort of acknowledgement. It's awesome! Anyone looking for tight HomeKit integration, look no further.

After several years of thinking about a smart lock, researching things and talking with one of our IT people I finally bit the bullet. I love my August Smart Lock Pro. It was easy to install and works as advertised. I have it set so that when the lock senses that I am near, around 30’, it unlocks the door. I also have it set to lock the door a while after I close the door. You can set the lock to,work any way you want. I have not hooked this up with the internet, it works solely on the Bluetooth signal from my phone. You must download the August app, create your own password and you are ready to go.

I picked this up because it's consistently rated as the best smart home lock on the market, and I was excited to test it out. Setup and installation was a breeze as it took me about 15min from the time I opened the box to the time I had it installed and ready to go... Unfortunately I had issues with my front door not closing correctly and so the lock was getting stuck when trying to auto lock. This was in no way a fault of the lock, but a fault with my front door. Ultimately I had to return the lock because of this, but will most definitely pick it up again once I get the issue taken care of with my door.

This August lock was easy to install and works great with the existing lock. The kit includes the pieces you need for it to work with most common door locks that are found in the household.

What a creative design that makes for an easy install without having to buy all new hardware for your door. I was amazed at how simple the install was and the customer service at August is top notch!

I researched various smart locks including key pad locks. I narrowed it down to this and the Schlage, but after reading too many reviews about the Schlage being more suitable for Apple HomeKit and and Apple TV users, and also potentially requiring an additional adapter that's not included, I finally decided that the August was simple and did exactly what I needed it to do: Remotely lock and unlock the door, and provide temporary access to visitors to enter my home when I'm not there. Also, it allows me to use my existing deadbolt and not have any appearance from the street that I have a smart lock.

Installing was a breeze. Works great! Battery lasts for months for normal usage. Very happy to make it part of my home automation. I use it with Alexa.

Installed 2 of these in our home and they have worked the best out of all smartlocks we have had. Works great when you pair them with a doorbell cam and the app is integrated. Make sure you have a good connection with the wifi and Bluetooth transmission between the connect and smartlock before installing.

Very easy to install and set up. Took about 15-20 minutes to have it working. Feel as if it adds a lot of safety to our home. Instead of looking for the keys you can simply enter the door.

This smart lock replaced the deadbolt of my existing lock. What I like about it is that the exterior part of the deadbolt (with the keyhole) remains the same so you can always revert to using a key in case your batteries die or other unforeseen issues. Installation was extremely easy. The app walks you through step-by-step so it is very easy to follow. I would say the installation was only a couple minutes (hardware); the software part took a little longer, but very easy. Once installed, I was able to connect the lock to my WiFi and I was up and running. I also added the Connect so I could control this lock remotely (outside of my home network). The installation of the Connect device was seamless. I love the auto-unlock/lock feature. When I come home, the locks automatically unlocks. After 30 seconds, it locks itself. Very hand when you have your hands full when you come to the door - no more fiddling with keys. I was able to add my wife as an "owner" to the lock. She had to set up her own August account and log in on her phone using her own credentials. Very easy. I have unlocked the door remotely only a couple of times for family members, but it has always worked perfectly. One thing to note: you need to make sure you door closes fully and the deadbolt is lined up otherwise the lock won't be able to engage. During more humid months, my front door need a small "shove" to get the deadbolt to line up, so this is something I will need to address prior to the weather warming up. If the lock doesn't engage fully, I do get an alert on my phone that shows the lock is jammed. The outer ring of the lock can be manually turned instead of unlocking using the app. This is handy so you don't "need" your phone to unlock. In this case too, it will auto-lock after 30 seconds. I also connected the lock to my Alexa devices. In order to unlock the door using voice you have to set up a pin, which I did not do since I will not be using my voice to unlock (yet anyway). Locking is simple. Ask Alexa to lock your front door (or whatever you named it) and voila! You can also ask Alexa "Is my front door locked?" She replies, "Checking..." then she tells you the lock status. Nice little feature to have. Alexa integration was also simple. Overall, I love this lock. This is something that has been on my whishlist for a while and I am glad I chose August.

Very easy installation process. App works well and this is compatible with Apple HomeKit. You can set up notifications so you know when people get home.

Easy to install. Setting it up too enjoy 10 minutes. Been impressed with the auto unlock feature when you get home. Haven't had any problems yet and going on a month now.

It’s great to come home and have the door unlock for you. And the assurance of double checking if you remembered to lock the door is invaluable.

The convenience of not having to fumble for your keys in your pocket is a real plus. It Auto Unlocks itself once I pull into the garage. Excellent!

I like the auto-lock feature and how easy it is to lock/unlock from the inside. Being able to keep the existing key is also very handy.

This is my second lock and my third August connect. I was hoping the new generation would perform better than the old but it has the same connectivity issues. Just to clarify and be clear I am not talking about the lock itself, I am talking about the August Connect which you use for remote control functions. I has one with my original lock it new did work right and support was not help. Then when i sent it in for repair they said it was out of warranty, so I bought a new one, same issues bad connectivity and always dropping the wifi signal. This new one is not dropping the signal as much, but it still requires some tender loving care and patience to get it to work properly. The locks are bullet proof but they need to step up the game on the connectivity. If you do not have a plug within 2 ft of your lock the connect will not work. Mine is less than three feet, actually right on the other side of the wall and it shows poor connectivity. If you don't have a plug an extension cord will work but support frowns on that and it looks bad. Overall I like the WHOLE setup and would recommend it to a friend that has some patience.

Before I purchased this product I read the reviews hoping to get an idea of how the lock would work in my apartment. I was afraid to purchase it because there were a lot of negative reviews. I'm so glad I purchased this! The installation was simple, connecting the bridge to the lock and on the wifi was easy as 1,2,3. Now when I come home with my hands full, it's easy to use the home kit application to unlock my door before getting out of my vehicle. Don't worry about the negative reviews. Purchase this product! You won't be disappointed!
