Ausounds - AU Flex ANC Planar Noice Cancelling Earphone I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for exotic technologies in my audio gear, and Ausounds caught my attention with their advanced design and materials. Hybrid Planar magnetic like drivers in the most expensive speakers and headphones is really unique anywhere near this price. Of course, none of the nifty engineering matters if it doesn’t sound super. We’ll get into that shortly, because I spent most of my time just listening to my music collection, searching for my favorite music. These Au Flex earphones are letting me hear details I didn’t know were there. DESIGN and COMFORT: I’m a fan of this style of earphone. You need to consider how you use your earphones. My earphones are for walks, airplane travel, and just leaning back and enjoying the music. While I understand some folks complain that the neck band could bounce during an energetic run, these have SO LITTLE weight that I doubt you would notice. For me, (a) the comfortable and confidence building neck loop, (b) the very secure and still comfortable earbuds, (c) the decent noise cancellation (-25db specified), (d) the wireless-to-the-source design (e) along with easy-to-find controls all hit the right check boxes. Before I list the complete feature set, I want to emphasize that these are wonderfully comfortable earphones. Everything fits, the neck band is sufficiently soft and comfortable, and controls are easy to find and not overwhelming, Clicking the ANC button is so easy and a voice announces ANC MODE, ANC OFF/ON and MONITOR MODE. There are 3 sizes of silicone ear tips and the soft “ear hooks” which seal the deal as far as both comfort and staying power. Built-in Mic for phone calls. The earbuds are magnetic switches, auto-pausing music when they touch. IPX5 (sweat or low water spray) rating. There is no APP, so none of those fancy tone adjustments or variable noise reduction. Well, not yet. Bluetooth 5.0. No AptX. IF your phone accommodates LDAC, Hi-Res BT operates at 990kbps. A USB-C charging cable and Travel Bag are in the box with Quick Start Guide and instructions. And then there is the sound. PERFORMANCE: The Ausounds AU Flex are like slipping on new shoes so comfortable that you’re going to wear them all the time. There’s little doubt you’re going to reach for these a lot. Supremely comfortable, perfect fit, easy to use and a no-fuss personality. The ANC button is easy to find and use, with a female voice confirming button presses. And it is an effective noise cancellation. I found ANC pushing down room voices a bit and reducing droning background sounds even better. I started with my favorite male singers to get a sense of voicing. Beirut’s band and lead singer and Amos Lee fill distinctly different vocal ranges and provide widely unique instrumentation, and these earphones are completely honest and natural. Ausounds AU Flex do not muddle the bass, but deliver authoritative bass lines when called for and allow you to easily distinguish percussive instruments. Beirut’s signature array of horns is beautifully detailed, while Amos Lees’ guitars are all right there and real. I sense a little forwardness in the upper treble, some slight smearing, but NOT edgy or harsh in any way. I had to try some Buffalo Springfield, “Expecting to Fly” to sample a rich violin background with falsetto voices up front. Wow. Never sounded better. The detail was remarkable and lush. Christine Perri’s “Burning Gold” offers up a challenging upper vocal register, similarly voiced backup singers all sitting on top of a pounding bass and drums. The Ausounds are remarkably good at allowing you to hear all the individual elements. Ellie Goulding’s singing stays mostly smooth in “Lights” but the cymbal and brush treble can get a bit of sizzle. You can hear the breaths that Ariana Grande (“Moonlight”) takes in before the next song phrase, but her voice stays sweet and always listenable. The heavy bass in “Side to Side” reminds you the the Ausounds don’t favor either end of the spectrum, and the forceful voice in between it all lets you know these earphones are serious musical instruments, too. (On my iPhone, the Settings-Music-EQ lets me reduce treble; JetAudio is my preferred multi-band equalizer App) so there’s always a solution if the recording is just too treble hot.) SUMMARY: I interpret the overall sound of the Ausounds to be very natural and remarkably extended at both ends of the spectrum. On some music where you have a sense the treble can be a bit forward, it would be nice to have an equalizer on a specific song. I could say I miss one of those nifty Apps to modify the sound contour or to adjust levels of noise cancelling. But really, I most often check those Apps to be sure the EQ is set flat and the ANC is all on. The bottom line for the Ausounds AU Flex is exceptional sound quality, a sense of premium design and construction, all encouraging me to search through my music collection to explore what these earphones will reveal to me. Highly recommended.

One paragraph review: Far better bass than my Airpod Pros. More immersive of an audio listening experience, but less convenient in multiple facets such as size and storage. The active noise cancellation (ANC from hereon) is not as occlusive and complete as my Airpod Pros. The ambient monitoring mode is excellent and allows one to hear their surroundings well. Overall, these are good choice for audiophiles more concerned with quality of the audio over convenience or small form factor. Here is the longer version of what I want to convey about these Ausounds Planar headphones. First of all, they are very comfortable given their form factor of a neck piece wired to the earphones. After a while of wearing these, I forget the neck piece is even there it is so comfortable. The neck piece is a soft touch plastic, suitable and hygienic for exercise or outdoor activities where moisture may be an issue. On that note, they are IPX5 rated (protected from water projecting from a nozzle; mostly dust proof), making these suitable for use in the rain like if you get caught in it while on a run etc. The ear hooks are a surprisingly comfortable soft touch material as well, molding easily to any ear shape and hooking securely. It can be a bit of trick to get these on right the first few times if one doesn’t have experience with in-ear earphone monitors previously, but the included manual illustrates how to do it. One annoyance I am finding with these earphones is that it does not retain the setting you have selected for active noise cancellation when you turn them off and back on. I would prefer if I could boot these up into the monitor setting every time I turn them on and I am not seeing that as being an option. One thing that is impressing me is how good of a fit the earphones are. They are snug in the ear and are flush to the ear lobe, not sticking far out of the ear at all, which is great for those who like to wear beanies and hats over their ears while still enjoying music. I appreciate that the earphones can magnetically stick together when you have them out of your ears; making them easy to hang around your neck while you interrupt your music. It also pauses your music automatically when you do this! I had really given up on Bluetooth headphones until I tried these Ausounds Planar headphones. I had gotten sick of connection drops, audio stutters and interruptions. These headphones have surprised and impressed me. Thus far in hours of music and podcast listening, I have not heard or noticed any significant stutters or drops. These headphones utilize Bluetooth 5.0. The earphones produce and excellent soundstage for talk radio, podcasts, etc. Listening to podcasts like the Dave Ramsey show, every inflection and emphasis is so crisp to the ear, it feels like I am in the sound booth with them! Overall, I would most definitely recommend these earphones to those who are seeking an excellent balance in sound quality and build quality!

Really nice headset choice... I know some people prefer the "true wireless" ear buds, and I like those too and currently own and use some nice buds, but I like the design here better for a couple reasons that I will get to later. Packaging was tight, attractive and help the phones in perfect place and presentation on opening. Inside you'll find the headset, silicone ear insert options (S,M,L) USB charging cable, carry case and manuals. Charging (on first glance) took a minute to figure out. The USB insert is on the end of the right side where the controls are. It is designed to be attractive behind the rubber cover. and not exposed. Controls are quite simple. Some experiences with headsets, especially the smaller they get is that they have a tendency to try too too much with too little and take some practice and memorization. These controls are intuitive and simple to master. I would like the volume up/down controls to be slightly more pronounced but with my big-old man-hands, they may not be the most effective for "delicate" operations. Oh well. Pause, track forward/backward are simple and just make sense. Well done. Sound quality... Excellent. The bass is pronounced but controlled, the mids are even and perfectly separated and the highs are crisp but not at all shrill. in all, an excellent listening experience. One area where this unit really stands out is in the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). With a dedicated button on the control arm, you can easily toggle from ANC off, ANC on and Monitor mode. The noise cancellation was fantastic. While a real test for ANC is on an airplane, these did fantastic in the couple of public venues I tried them in. I can hardly wait to test these on an airplane. I am sure I will not be disappointed. As for design, as mentioned, I almost prefer these to true wireless earbuds. I like the over the ear experience for gym use and for walking/jogging. You don't need to worry about one falling out if you get a little sweaty and if you want to take on or both earpieces off, you can just remove them and not have to hold them. These also have magnets in the earpieces that if you remove them and place the magnets together, it automatically pause your media and when you remove them and place back in your ear, it plays the media. One small area for improvement, I really would like an app option to adjust the sound. Don't misunderstand me, the out-of-box sound-tuning is fantastic, but as a "tinkerer" I would like to at least have the ability to adjust the sound. A small gripe for an otherwise excellent option. I had never heard of this brand before, but after this experience, I would most definitely consider Ausounds in the future. I have no qualms calling this a premium consumer grade choice. I would certainly recommend them to a friend. **PLEASE NOTE** These were provided to me in exchange for an honest and unbiased review and that is precisely what this is: an honest and unbiased review.

If any words come to mind when using the AU Flex ANC it would be “High Performing” High Performing Sound. High Performing Bass. High Performing Battery. High Performing ANC. High Performing Headphones. In addition to all of that; they not only look good. But they are extremely lightweight. To the point, I can’t even feel them around my neck. Like AU Flex is easy to pick up and throw into a bag. There is no fatigue when using these. To me, this is a pinnacle of using headphones usage as they don’t get in your way nor tangled up out of control. From the time you take them out of the box; you are presented with a fantastic-looking presentation showcasing the headphones right to you. Underneath you also get a soft bag to put your headphones in, a USB-C cable, interchangeable earbuds, and a quick start guide. Everything is laid out and easy for you to understand what comes in the box. The headphones themselves look nice with a black and silver-tone and easy buttons to understand. These headphones are sleek and super modern but also doesn’t bring too much attention to one's self. The logo of AU is done with a nice finish and gives shine to each ear. The headphones are extremely lightweight and easy to put around your neck which is fantastic. The Volume up and down along with an “action” button is here but there is an extra button here as well. The “ANC” which is “Active noise canceling” mode which is pretty good, pretty powerful. It knocks out incoming sounds completely allowing you to get in your zone. It’s hard to hear someone when in this mode. I would be careful when using this around railroads but they work. If you want to hear your surrounding there is a “monitoring” mode that allows you to hear around you but still have on ANC. Press the ANC button again to activate this or you can simply have it off. The headphones sound extremely amazing with clarity and bass of like any I’ve used before. I can hear everything clear from mids to lows; the most powerful here is the Bass which is fantastical done in these headphones but doesn’t drown out vocals. Got the promise 15-hour battery life with no issues but charging up the AU Flex is extremely fast. With the overall experience and quality I got from AUSounds I am very happy with the headphones. They gave something unique while delivering their own classic headphones. The price isn’t that far from other competitors. This is a company that knows their sound and on track to be something big. There is no App for EQ settings/Updates in the App Store because unlike other companies it doesn’t need to be. That automatically is a win in my book. "High-Performing" are these headphones, 5 out of 5 stars.

My New Way To Hear Entertainment

--- SETUP --- After turning on the headphones for the first time, you’ll hear a beep. It automatically goes to pairing mode where your bluetooth enabled device can find it. All you have to do is click on AU Flex and you’ll be connected in seconds. --- FEATURES --- The key features of these earphones are their sleek look, simple button interface, magnetic earpiece to prevent loss, and the ANC (active noise canceling) feature. It also has an IPX5 rating, which indicates that they can withstand jet water pressure from any angle. --- PERFORMANCE --- The performance of these headphones are up there with the best of the best. If you’ve never experienced ANC headphones, you are in for a treat. What active noise canceling headphones do is drown out the noise around you so that you can focus on what you’re listening or watching. ANC works even if you just have the headphones on without playing any content. I was wearing them on my way to the gym and forgot to turn them off. My vehicle transferred the bluetooth audio of my podcast to my car stereo and I could tell the ANC was working because my car stereo sounded like the noise was far away and muffled. As soon as I turned the ANC off, I could hear my stereo normal again. You want this feature to work this well in the gym, where lot’s of grunts, chatter, and pounding of weights is happening at once interrupting your workout. You want to avoid using ANC when walking in places that require you to pay attention to your surroundings, such as by the sidewalk near vehicles or trails with cyclists. The sound of the headphones had some very nice lows for bass and nice highs for the trebles. I listened to podcasts, audio books, and music, all of which sounded pleasant and in full force as I expected it to sound. The noise cancelation feature allowed me to focus even more on my content with minimal distractions. I was able to forget that I was working out while watching a movie on Netflix because of how focused I was. --- EXPECTATIONS --- Upon opening the box, I was impressed with how everything screamed quality with just the boxing materials. The box has a magnetic flap and under the headphones, you find small, well organized boxes that house the cables, instructions, and extra ear gummies. This set the bar high for the expectations of the earphones. AU Flex Noise Canceling Earphones exceeds my expectations. These are now part of my workout routine and have a nice battery life of 15 hours, which is more than enough for a week’s worth of use before having to recharge. --- VALUE --- The price for the earphones is justified if you plan on using them for a long while. The ANC feature alone is worth it, but the fact that these sound amazing, are light, have an IPX5 rating and have multiple buttons that aren’t confusing to use make it a big plus. --- APPROVAL --- I highly recommend this product for people who are audiophiles and enjoy working out without distractions.

First time investing in AUSOUNDS, as such, and as considered as an audiophile, I look first for the rate of music transfer via Bluetooth. Secondly, quality, third, battery life, and lastly the accessories. This Unboxing is neat and the earphones presentation draws attention. Ausounds - AU Flex ANC Planar Noice Cancelling Earphone is equipped with LDAC 990kbps that is a technology developed by Sony. Such technology allows a music transfer at a high-resolution rate over Bluetooth. These earphones sound clear and music seems crystallized to be very close to those high-end earphones out there in the market also equipped with BT 5.0. relatedly, nice-canceling works perfectly and blocked out most of the noise but not COMPLETLY. Controls are simple and voice command is equipped depends on the smartphone, so in my case, I use iPhone device and Siri was right there activated. materials used in these earphones are outstanding, the rubber band sits on the neck comfortably blended into a lightweight aluminum touches as well as the earphones are magnetic so they do not flay off. battery life is claimed by the company to run for 22 hours, however, I have been using it for one day and I still have 10% on it. Fast charging is also provided which really a big advantage to get 2-3 charge for 15 minutes. Waterproof: IPX5 and USB type C support. What makes it very convenient when my purchase at that cost comes with accessories. The velvet pouch is really nice to have and to store my earphones securely in addition to extra ear tips in different sizes. Wearing experience is comfortable and not ear fatigue so far.

Planar, the term - in the realm of headphones was unfamiliar to me; as was this design in a neckband style of bluetooth 5.0 earphones. I have to assume that planar means “exceptional bass”, because for what is replicated playing through these earphones on my “Dirtiest of Bass” Spotify playlist does not disappoint...in a form that is really an earbud - but thats the only time I’ll compare them to such. They are bass beauties! The neckband is super comfortable & built really well. It’s nice to be able to pop them off your ears when needed - but not have to fuss for a spot to place them. The magnetic auto pause is perfect too! I mainly used a Samsung Note Ultra 5G and the streaming service mentioned earlier with these, I could not be happier with the fidelity of the audio, and also the microphone for voice calls and voice-to-text dictation. Also paired to a Surface 3 Laptop and used for a couple of audio conferences via bluetooth, as well as hardware based voice dictation in Dragon - these work as well as any wired headphones that may cost double as much. I have some other earbuds that are going to start collecting dust. I suggest anyone who is struggling with the earbud design try these ASAP.

Let me say, I love these! I think they sound awesome, they have incredible battery life, and frankly fit better than any other earbud type headsets I've worn to date. No kidding. They are comfortable with glasses, and the neckband fits right into your neck/clothes, without any issues at all. You almost forget you have a neckband, it is so comfortable. The only thing I'd mention is that they are not indestructible because the neckband has wires that go the ear pieces. For most responsible adults, that trade off for longer battery life, is totally worth it. It is for me. But for teens or younger children, you might consider this. Or if you are one that doesn't like to deal with any wires. However, for sound quality alone, they are worth it. Add in the other things I've mentioned, and you'll see they are a very good value. No constantly having to charge to get through the day, no falling out of your ears, etc. All those things you might have been going through already, or don't want to go through, this solves all of that. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. Oh yes, the controls on the neck band beat tapping your earbuds by a long shot. Easy to use, easy to remember what is where, etc. Well thought out design.

AUSOUNDS noise canceling headset is comfortable to wear. The wrap around earbud fits my ear comfortably. Most noise canceling headsets are the cup style that cover your ears. The bulk of the unit's weight sits on my shoulder, almost un-noticeable. .. You can turn noise canceling on or off at your discretion. The microphone allows me to answer my cell phone without having to reach for the phone. It also allows me to switch back and forth to the cellphones speaker when desired. The sound quality from the lightweight planar earbuds is mostly influenced thanks to the Bluetooth baud rate and frequency transmitted from you player (cell phone, iPad, etc.) It produces an almost wired experience. Pairing is simple and quick. My moto E works perfectly. It comes with a charging cord and a sleek black cloth carrying case. Fits nicely in your pocket or purse or travel bag. Its almost a shame to recycle the box it comes in. It reminds me of a jewelry case.

I’ve been able to take my Ausound Earphones for jogs, used them in the car, and on conference calls! They succeed at all three and actually surpassed my expectations. The neck design isn’t for everyone but if you’re someone who has their primary earphones and want something for jogs or calls then don’t hesitate to get these! The battery life is amazing, ear tips are comfy, and these are the first USB-C charged earphones I’ve ever had. True to their description the sound is very different and you can hear the highs and lows in music tracks! I listened to some classical music while working on reports and the strum of acoustics was very real. Almost as I was there. I also listened to Halsey and Black Pink on my run and the bass gets lost for me but that was not a deal breaker at all. Like i said, these are Au-SOME! They come with a bag to store them but i haven’t had a need for it yet.

Great earphones, very comfortable the controls/battery part go over the neck and I prefer these type of earbuds that are attached to it, makes it less difficult to lose. They come with a charging type C usb cable, a very nice carrying pouch and an extra set of ear plugs for different shapes/sizes of ear canals There are buttons to control music (pause skip etc, volume and calls). Initial charge took around an hour. The sound is great, however where it shines is if you listen to Hi-res audio files. Either files or I would recommend a hidef subscription service like Tidal. That's were they shine as they are Hi-res audio earbuds. The difference is amazing if you haven't experienced Hi-res music (most of the difference is they are usually higher bit rate ones, like 24 bit, 96hz). Your mind will be blown once you listen to hi-res music, granted is via bluetooth, however trust me, the difference is noticeable. Other than that, the plugs are very comfortable and they go over the ear, and stay put well, making them my new favorites for morning jogs, they don't fall of my ears.

I've been using these for about two weeks now and am very impressed. The sound quality is amazing and with the and on you can't hear anything around you. The only thing I don't like is no app to refine the controls and the anc monitoring mode has a lot of white noise. The fit is good too they don't fall out when I lay down. I charge the battery on the drive to work every day and haven't ran it out yet and my days are usually about 14 or 15 hours between both jobs and driving.

Excellent earbuds, amazing quality, the ANC is superb and the battery life is surprising. this earbuds fit perfectly in my ears which is rare b/c of all my piercings in my ears. i love that, but the main reason i bought these, was for the noise cancelling. idk if i got defected product, but both anc modes do not work. it sounds all the same and i can still hear the buzzing of the fridge, ac, & etc. kinda upset i paid $200 for noise cancelling earbuds that don't work, but oh well. the sound quality itself is good and they are pretty comfortable in ear.

So I will get out there and say the Ausounds AU-Flex ANC is probably not something that everyone looks for. I know the neck band look is much less fashionable than true wireless earbuds. The ear hook design can also be a hit-or-miss with people. However, once you get past the aesthetics, the AU-Flex ANC really delivers. The unboxing experience was pleasant. You get the earphones, charging cable, and 3 extra sizes of tips. In terms of design, the AU-Flex looked fairly good to me with the metallic coatings. As I mentioned before, the neck band look may not be for everyone. I actually don’t mind them. Similarly, the ear hook design may turn away some. I do wear glasses, and my glasses did have to sit at an angle with the ear hooks in place although this is with all ear hook earphones. The charging cable is USB-C. Thankfully, most companies are moving towards this universal port. There are essentially 4 buttons. The power button which also functions as the bluetooth pairing, playback button, voice assistant, and phone answering/hanging up. The +/- volume rocker also doubles as track control depending on how long you hold them down for. The final button is your ANC button. Pretty standard although I did have several instances of accidental skipped tracks. In terms of comfort, I really thought the experience was comfortable even with the ear hooks. The neckband was not overly bulky or heavy. It has a lot of flex so you don’t have to worry about bending and breaking it. The earphone tips have magnets so that when you take them off, they clasp together and don’t dangle around. I thought this was a simple but great design. They are IPX5 rated so they can handle light splashing and sweat. These can handle a workout. Setup was easy. You hold down the power button, and you are ready to pair. Once you pair, you are ready to listen! Bluetooth 5.0 delivers with no cutouts. I have to say that I was very impressed with the performance of these earbuds. There is very good bass but it has great balanced mids and highs as well. Very rich sound with no distortion at high volumes. Maybe not as flat of a curve and too much coloration for audiophiles but I thoroughly enjoyed the sound profile. One thing that may hold people back is the absence of an app and EQ controls so you are stuck with what you get. You get good passive noise cancellation with the good seal on the earbuds. With the active noise cancellation on, you hear that familiar slight hiss in the background. Ear buds do have their limits. You just can’t get the same effect as you would over ear. However, I thought these were fairly decent. Compared to a Bose or Sony, these did fall a bit behind but not as far as I expected. They cut out a fair amount of ambient noise. They excel at white noise like fans. Battery life is advertised to be around 22 hours. Mileage may vary but I was getting great use out of them. I did not have to charge them for a while. Battery life is significantly shorter with ANC at 10 hours but this is still much more significant than true wireless earbuds thanks to the neckband. All in all, battery life is excellent. All in all, I thought these were great. At the price point, they offer a good amount of value. If you like this kind of design, then I would seriously consider the Ausounds AU-Flex. Thing to consider: Neckband and earhook design Pros: Good sound Decent ANC at price point Excellent battery life Comfortable, small, light Sweat resistant Good build quality, durable Cons: ANC may be weak for some Lack of app Lack of EQ customization

I picked up a pair of these earbuds, now usually the lines are pretty well drawn in regards to true wire free earbuds which are not attached via a wire or some type of common “band” as is the case with the Ausounds - AU Flex ANC Planar Noise Cancelling Earphones. However, in this case the band is fairly comfortable and provides a bit more flexibility when designing the headphone unit. On the flexible neckband are controls for volume, track advance and noise cancelling mode, which toggle between active noise cancelling on/off and monitor mode which allows environmental noise to be heard for safety purposes. The noise cancelling is pretty effective and does a good job, usually traveling via air is an effective test of Active Noise cancelling, however due to the pandemic I have not taken any flights. However I ran a fan in a small room to gauge the ambient noise cancelling and it was effective (-25db claimed) not as good as my full over the ear active noise cancelling headphones I have, but close without the over the ear antisocial implications. The band also allows a USB-C port to be used to charge the unit at the edge of one side of the band, a nice touch vs. the smaller USB-micro B found on most devices. How do these sound? “RICH” would best describe the sound profile perfectly, they have instantly moved to the top of my “earbud” pile, probably nudging out the ones I have from that four letter company which is known for speakers and car audio. The audio has depth and equals some of the wired headphones I have used. Now this could be due to it being “equipped with LDAC for a high-res wireless Bluetooth transfer rate of 990kbps”, not being overly familiar with the differences in Bluetooth standards and codecs (other than this is version 5.0 compatible) I am not sure if my iPhone 12 Pro is connecting and able to fully use that high bit rate capability, but if there is room for additional performance it would be amazing to hear. As for the material I played to evaluate the performance of these headphones, it ranged from Podcasts, max bit rate Spotify streaming of rock music with low passages (as in Pink Floyd’s Animals), to the wall of sound that Devin Townsend is known for. Frequency response was even, without no artificial proclivities in bass response or at the high end. The headphones are nicely packaged, come with three different sizes of earbuds, the default size installed seemed adequate for me and fit well. The over the ear hook helps to keep the earbuds properly seated in your ear, I did not find the ear hooks to be uncomfortable. Overall, I am very happy with the performance of the Ausounds - AU Flex ANC Planar Noise Cancelling Earphones, even though I usually avoid headphones with a band or ear hooks, in this implementation those design features work and yield advantages. Pros: - Clear, crisp true tone – no extremes. - Controls on the band. - Battery capacity. - Active noise cancelling effectiveness. Cons: - Not many, although the claimed 32ft. range is accurate and starts to break up quickly beyond that.

The AUSOUNDS AU-Flex ANC neckband headphones are a mind-blowing introduction to AUSOUNDS. They came well packed in a sleeve type box/tray presentation with all pieces secured. These will please audiophiles who will sacrifice over-ear options for a more portable and reduced footprint. The build and design reminds me the original neckband headphones but they spent money on the parts that matter (i.e. speakers and battery). Things are kept simple with the user interface and it has a very minimalist design. Setup is fast and easy while providing a premium product from the soft neckband silicone material to the planar drivers that produce the sound. These are my go to headphones for the office and I recommend them to any business professional who wants great sound in a lightweight portable package. This is a great all day audio solution offering amazing call and sound quality with a few compromises like no app, HiRes iOS codec, or simultaneous BT connection. For me, at this price point an app is automatic in 2020 and I'd say expected. All other competitors offer an app with their headphones and I am hoping this is just in the works and will be released at a later date. Otherwise, this is almost flawless execution! Inconveniences and challenges encountered The BIGGEST inconvenience for me was having to re-pair when moving between my phone and laptop or tablet. Simultaneous connections are expected by many in this day and age. While driving, I found the ear phones got tangled when releasing the seatbelt. While moving around, the neckband tended to lean more towards the right side leaving weight distribution to be an issue for the active crowd. When playing with my kids, the would get tangled and caught in their hands. As you can see, there is a market for TRUE wireless but these are a great compromise. The fact there is no app is a problem for me and I worry how firmware updates will be delivered. They would definitely benefit from an update and I don't know how well AUSOUNDS will support their products from a software standpoint. I hope an update in the works to fix connectivity issues with Android. On my Note 20 Ultra, all connections after initial pairing were 50% active. What I mean here is that call audio was enabled but the media audio was not. I had to disconnect BT and reconnect the BT connection for the AU-Flex ANCs every time I turned them on to use them to hear a video or music. Room for Improvement I would like to see an app with EQ and other settings to tune monitor mode, better connectivity with Android OS, HiRes iOS audio codecs, and also retractable ear buds to reduce tangling. The inability to link to two devices simultaneously is a MUST! Users will have a phone and either a tablet or laptop expecting This is otherwise PERFECT execution in my opinion by AUSOUNDS. Fit and Comfort The ear buds fit perfect in my ears. I can wear them all day and forget I have them in until I have to talk to someone. I love in ear headphones because the passive noise isolation it offers is the best option to hear clearly all detail in sound. There are 3 sizes of ear tips to choose from and the ear loops are soft and flexible. They stay where you put them and do not move, however, the neck band is the only annoyance. The neckband will move around, especially at the gym if you get a sweaty neck, and sometimes will lean toward the right side probably because it is heavier. The earbuds are low profile and don't stick out your ears too much which I like. At the gym, these will be a pain if you are working the bench press, doing sit-ups, or any exercises that have changes in vertical direction or fast horizontal movements. Battery Life and Charging Battery life on these lasts me about 3 calendar days before I have to charge them. It will announce in a robotic voice when battery is low and you can see battery life in the BT settings. I'd say in my case, these are on about 6 hours a day mostly for calls and a few of those hours listing to multimedia. For me, battery life is more than enough to get through a heavy all-day of use and will easily make it to night time. They charge up in about 2 hours via USB-C. The little flap that protects the USB-C charging port worries me because if it snaps your port will be exposed to the elements. Sound quality I must say I was surprised with the sound quality of this pair of headphones! I really like the clean bass and highs but the mids could be turned up a bit IMO and the highs down a little. Don't get me wrong, the out of box experience is WONDERFUL but I would like to tweak things. Since these fit in your ear canal, it channels everything into your ear to hear details you would miss in other headphones. These are definitely sculpted with bass and highs in mind and you will love the sound out of these. Clarity and power are the themes here! I would only wish these had a bit more juice in the loudness department but it is plenty. Things hold up well throughout the loudness range but at higher volume the highs are a bit too much and lows are more pronounced. Overall, this is a well tuned audio experience. Noise cancelling is above average slightly with monitor mode needing to be louder. Voices still come through but low rumbles found in trains, busses, and motors reduced to almost silence. There is a slight hiss but this is normal for ANC headphones. Call/Mic quality Call quality is impeccable! Callers didn't even know I was on the phone and noise cancellation is excellent in call. It picks up your voice extremely well with high quality mics and cancels out the surrounding areas well. Voice memo recordings will amaze you especially in loseless codecs! Audio for calls comes through both ears Android Experience Audio quality is the main advantage to using these on LDAC supported Android OS devices while the biggest drawback was the connectivity issues when connecting to my Note 20 Ultra. Every time I connected it after the initial pairing, it would default only to "Call Audio" leaving the "Media Audio" option disabled. After tapping the "LDAC" and "Media Audio" options, it is non-responsive. The fastest way to fix this is to disconnect and then reconnect the AU-Flex headphones to get it to work. LDAC is excellent and as a result offers the best audio quality and experience, in my option, if your device supports it. Apple devices do not have a HiRes codec supported by the AU-Flex so you will get SBC quality sound. In summation, the best audio out of these headphones is obtained through the Android experience. There is no app which is unfortunate as we will need an update to make the Android experience more seamless. There are no EQ options as a result of no app which means you will be stuck with how these sound. There are in app EQs in some streaming apps but AUSOUNDS needs to step it up in the app game. Apple Experience Connectivity and stability is best found in the Apple experience however includes a hit to the audio quality due to only supporting SBC and not LDAC. The audio sounds good but if you hear LDAC on these headphones you will not be satisfied. SBC and LDAC supported with LDAC not in iOS and as a result, sound quality is slightly reduced. In short, if you want the best connection, Apple time and time again offers the best. THE VERDICT These are definitely a by and are a heavyweight contender for the neckband headphone crown! If this style is your thing, these deserve a HARD look. Although not perfect, I can wholly recommend these to business professionals and workers who want to enjoy working through the day in the best soundstage that can last you all day.

These AU sounds offer a nice hybrid of the sound quality of a full sized pair of Bluetooth cans with some of the portability and concealment of wireless ear buds. These are not fully wireless like many sets, but for fans of the LG behind the neck headsets this is not the worst thing. The main benefits of the behind the neck units is much better battery life, close to 24 hours of straight playtime and a week worth of idle time. You could also just pull a bud to your ear instead of pulling out a case. The negatives of this headset is they don’t retract they just dangle. This means they are more rugged but also more bulky. The LG would retract and magnet hold into the neckpiece. Sound wise these are excellent, on par with my Powerbeats Pro but slightly better bass. The included earbuds were smaller so I used the bigger size which worked well. The auto noise cancelling is a great feature and easily noticeable plus you can turn it off with the touch of one button. The best benefit of noise cancelling is if you’re on an airplane or mowing the lawn or using some power tools where you want to block out some of that super loud noise. Great headsets, I only took a star off because there’s no wire retraction or magnetic hole functionality of the ear buds.
