This little unit offers a lot for the size. I spent over a year doing research to find a good solution for my 24" laundry closet, which used to house a ThinTwin stacked unit (weighed over 200 lbs)! I wanted something lightweight enough so I could move it around myself, and I also wanted to have easy access to the water shutoff valves behind the washer in the closet in case of an emergency. I was nervous about making a major purchase over the internet without actually seeing and touching a unit beforehand. I chose Best Buy as my vendor of choice because of the free shipping available at the time, and the price for the washer was very competitive. I was able to receive face-to-face assistance in the retail store, which helped ease my mind about ordering online. UPS delivered the unit, which weighed about 88 pounds (shipping weight). It was packed very well, and it arrived unharmed. I followed the instructions in the manual and was very pleased with the ease of installation. I took some advice from other reviews and immediately purchased new steel-braided, high pressure water hoses because the hoses that came with the unit are almost junk. The good news is that the machine gets clothes REALLY clean! They do become twisted throughout the wash/rinse cycles, so I suggest you do smaller loads with plenty of water. You can adjust the water level as needed, plus it seems like the machine adds more water periodically to self-balance. Don't use too much soap! Just 2 TBSP of HE soap should be plenty. Be careful with towels. Just put a couple in with other light things - loosely! If the inner tub spins off center, it will bang into the outer plastic and may or may not stop. You can PAUSE the cycle, adjust the clothes inside the tub, and START again - just don't overload the machine at any point. However, I was able to do a complete set of queen sheets (top/bottom) and pillow cases with ease, so it works really well if you manage your loads and don't scrimp on water. All in all, I am very happy with the purchase after using it for about a month now. My experience with Best Buy was excellent, and I'm looking forward to purchasing the companion dryer to put above the washer when the price is right, although I need a different standing rack system because of my 24" closet. I hope this review helps other folks out there. I was very grateful for the reviews that I read before I made my decision. Happy washing!

    Broke After 3 years

Washer worked fine with 'normal' unbalanced loads from time to time. Then at the 3 year mark, it stopped spinning my clothes. Bottom agitator spins, and lumps clothes into a ball, but tub doesn't spin....It just makes a grinding and clicking noise, over & over until spin cycle is over, then refills with water. My friend suggested it's a burnt out clutch, but NO REPAIRMAN WILL EVEN TOUCH an apartment sized washer!! I called a few appliance stores, same answer. I don't know how to repair it, so now I own a 100# paper weight! My loss, figured it lasted 3yrs @ $380 I paid for it, guess I would've spent that at a laundromat. Just purchased a new Cabrio from Whirlpool 4.8 full size washer. I pray it lasts more then 3yrs because it's costing me double $ of my Avanti. At least I also purchased 5yr service plan for $135.
