Customers are saying

Customers love the stunning graphics and immersive open-world environment of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Many players also appreciate the engaging gameplay and storyline. However, some find the game to be expensive and challenging, while others are not fond of the first-person perspective and find the controls and navigation system take some getting used to.

Avatar has been in the public consciousness for 15 years, with 2 hugely successful films, but not a lot else. No TV series, not a lot of merchandise besides the occasional toys and figurines, and the original video game from 2009 that was decent. Suffice to day, there are still a lot of fans of the franchise out there and I totally get it, and hugely surprised there weren't more games set in the Avatar universe. When this game was announced, it looked absolutely beautiful and the world literally felt like Pandora, but I remained a bit skeptical, knowing that Ubisoft was behind this game (and the original for that matter) and havent had the best products the past few years. It felt like they missed the boat missing the release date of Avatar 2 in theaters and on home video to truly take advantage of the synergy, coming out a year after the release of the film, and seeing the game underperform is truly understandable. Mediocre reviews, lack of buzz, a crowded market and more buzzwords affected this games performance, and regularly saw it on sale from its absurdly high $70 price point down to $40 didn't help its case. Suffice to say, i plunked down $40 and generally felt the game was fine, if familar. Graphically, it looks amazing on the PS5, but the framerate suffers severely and you really need to use performance mode to really get a good balance of graphics and framerate that won't drive you mad. But the graphics deliver the world of Pandora well, offering new and classic flora and fauna that simply feel like you're playing a movie. But then you start playing the game. First person shooter with RPG elements, open world design, repetitive missions, and it finally clicks that this is a re-skinned Far Cry game. Far Cry has been "samey" for quite sometime, especially after the fun but familiar and bland Far Cry 6, and I guess Ubisoft just couldn't break away from their mold. It's a fine game, but if you've played any Far Cry game in the last 5-7 years, then you'll be adequately familiar with this title. Not quite worth $40, but if you can grab it for $20, you might have a good time.

I know Ubisoft has bad rap, but I've enjoyed all the Far Cry and Assassins Creed games I've played, maybe it's just me. This is a mix of RPG with FPS but includes more discovery/exploration than the other Ubisoft games. I love this game. I haven't finished yet, but I like it a lot. The gameplay is good (similar to Far Cry series) and I don't care about minitransactions, as I play with what I can get by playing the game (no need cosmetic stuff or to speed-up skills) The environment is like in the movies, with weird animals and plants that react to you. The combat is a bit challenging (I'm not that good gamer on my 50s) but when I get stuck, I just lower the difficulty finish the mission and set it back. The story is compelling (still on early stages so can't talk about ending) but it feels like the Avatar movies, only difference is you decide what to do. It's a long game, so it'll take me several weeks to finish but, as of now, I won't complain it takes as long as it needs

Open World map is great in here. Still not sure how I gem about the first person view as the only view but it’s not too bad. I’d just like to see the avatar in action sometimes but the game is nice. A lot of side missions and a lot happening during the course of the game. Like the touch trying to link it to the movie.

My biggest complaint is that you can only play in the first person view, and the interaction between your first person view and the environment feels a bit wonky. I also find it strange that the game pushes add-on customized skins and appearances for real money, when you can never even seen them because you play in the first person view. The combat is also a bit disappointing. Other than that, the world of Pandora is vast and well-designed, the story is pretty good, and the music is good as well. Overall a fun game to play for a little while.

Love this game. Bought it for my husband but it became mine as well. We also got copies for his coworkers. It does have some glitches but work arounds. I love the open world and how it has something for everyone. You can be a warrior attacking every one up front, or go stealth killing from distance or sneaking up on enemies. You can explore and just wander around collecting items or complete mission after mission. There are puzzles and search and find parts. The game is amazing and graphics make it even better. My husband fights the battles for me. While I navigate around and help explore, solve puzzles and upgrade his character. The only thing is we had to do some research for parts of the game. In fact Google was our help throughout the game.

This is a great game for fans of the movie and for fans of Far Cry. The gameplay is very similar to the FC series, but the world is a treat to explore. The map is huge and you're bathed in colors and atmosphere. The powers you gain give combat a great feeling of progression and the world traversal is amazing. The game can get a bit repetitive towards the end, but its still a lot of fun to explore for at least one playthrough.

I loved this game, the flights were amazing and the game play was easy to understand. The graphics were gorgeous and the immense game play was something I was craving to play again and again. Just be prepared for the first person motion.

I'm giving this a 4 star because of how the beginning of the game started. It felt a little rushed and unfinished but once you are an hour or so into it, the story becomes a lot better. The graphics are crazy and make this game so much fun to play. It's wild seeing how good the graphics are all of the time. The only problems I've noticed have been things that are flying in the very far distance seem a little choppy every now and again.

I cannot explain how amazing this game is. I loved watching the Avatar movie when it first came out, haven’t seen the way of water. It expands on the lore of the movie and makes it more immersive by doing so. The game reminds me of far cry but in a good way. Not to mention you being able to fly one of the banshees, it is an amazing experience and I highly recommend you get it whenever you can. Amazing game 10/10
