This is an outstanding example of musicianship. The guys of Avenged Sevenfold prove that they are all around musicians on this album. They cover so many different genres on this album that it will keep your head spinning. Everything is wonderfully written, played, and produced. I'll admit, upon first listening it took me for a bit of a loop, but once I listened to it a bit more I realized just how amazing it was. I've always been a huge fan and as long as they're keeping it new and interesting, I'll always go along for the ride.
This is definately worth buying.

I waited for this CD for a long time and for me it was worth all those torturous months. A7X Is broadening their horizons and it sounds awesome. They still sound like A7X just more mature. There's nothing bad to say about the CD. It's all around awesome. I even like the country sounding songs. Just goes to show the band's creativity and talent.
Definitely a must have for A7X fans and rock fans worldwide.

Another Winner from A7X. It's been two years since City of Evil and it was worth the wait. 'Avenged Sevenfold' is amazing from beginning to end. Excellent guitar solos and lyrics we've come to expect from A7X. I definately recommend this album. Even if you're not a fan(shame on you!!) listen to it and I guarantee you'll love A7x!!!

Finally, Avenged Sevenfold is releasing their long awaited follow up to City Of Evil and from what I have heard so far, this cd sounds ever better than COE. Avenged Sevenfold is making a big name for themselves in the rock world. They are not sell outs, they are just making better records than everyone else in their genre. Rock On A7X!!!!!!!!!!

Just when you thought Waking the Fallen and City of Evil couldn't be beat--they've thrown us all off by creating a new style once again. I think its safe to say that the guys have really come into their own and have their own sound now. It's a great album that both old and new fans will really love and appreciate.

This CD is amazing, one of the best CD's I have ever listened to. Every second of every song has so much detail to it. You listen, and wonder 'how could they produce that sound', it's really unbelieveable. If you like Rock music, this is definatly a CD you must own!

This album draws you in and sends you on a journey, a sometimes sick journey, but an awesome one none the less. I have been a fan of Avenged Sevenfold since their first album, and i have yet to be dissappointed. I really enjoy the song "A Little Peice of Heave," it's so sick (in every sense of the word) It's has so much imagery, and the vocals are amazing.

This is hands-down the best A7X album, it has ballads, fast-paced solos, and stunning and intellectual lyrics that let you get into their state-of-mind. I suggest you buy this album if or if you are not a fan, one of my favorute albums of all time.

I have to admit. when I first listened to the album i was a bit disappointed. I missed the 7 minute songs with the killer guitar solos. I gave the album another chance and concluded that its pretty good. Its almost like its not the same Avenged any more but its still good. True Avenged fans might take a while to warm up to it.

Loved this album! Listen to Almost Easy, Scream, and Little Piece of Heaven...
Unfortuantely, the only downside is a country ballad (Dear God); its the last song, so it makes it easy to bypass.
Also recommend Fallen the Waken CD. Earlier stuff is a tad different, but just as awesome to listen to.

after 2 years of anxious anticipation, avenged sevenfold's fourth album is finally released, and after years of fanship; I lament to say that I am not impressed. Very much like atreyu, a7x's albums are all very different, and just like atreyu's fourth album a7x's newest album is exploring new genres of music and adapting them to their own style. Although this does give the band creativity credit, it also creates a chance for failure. This new project is not all bad; the guitar is still there and some of the songs have irregularly catchy melodies("dear god"), but after awhile they all begin to sound like critical acclaim with different lyrics; compared to waking the fallen and city of evil this album lacks serious structure and style. In conclusion, if you're a veteran a7x fan, you should add this to your collection (just to complete it). If you are not a big fan of the band; save yourself 14 bucks aand go put some gas in the car. :)
