    Can't Be Topped

This band just keeps getting better. This cd is a lot different from their previous ones but just as good. They pull away from the screamo rock they have previously been associated with and really tone it down for this album. Every song is a rocking piece of work, and the music and guitar solos are unbelievable. One of the stand out songs on the album is "A Little Piece of Heaven," which is an eight minute song recounting the ups and downs of a relationship, which we can all relate to. "Critical Acclaim" comes off a little hardcore but really has a great message if you listen to the words. Some other great songs on the album are "Lost," "Almost Easy," and "Gunslinger." The album ends with the only slow song on the album, "Dear God." This song is an amazing love song and probably very relevant for anyone in the music industry that has a significant other at home. The singer talks about how he is always away and missing his girl and he asks God to watch over her when he can't be there. This is an amazing cd, and even if you didn't like Avenged Sevenfold's cds in the past, you should give this one a try. This band knows how to rock!

after 2 years of anxious anticipation, avenged sevenfold's fourth album is finally released, and after years of fanship; I lament to say that I am not impressed. Very much like atreyu, a7x's albums are all very different, and just like atreyu's fourth album a7x's newest album is exploring new genres of music and adapting them to their own style. Although this does give the band creativity credit, it also creates a chance for failure. This new project is not all bad; the guitar is still there and some of the songs have irregularly catchy melodies("dear god"), but after awhile they all begin to sound like critical acclaim with different lyrics; compared to waking the fallen and city of evil this album lacks serious structure and style. In conclusion, if you're a veteran a7x fan, you should add this to your collection (just to complete it). If you are not a big fan of the band; save yourself 14 bucks aand go put some gas in the car. :)

    Weak... Very Weak

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Avenged Sevenfold, I listened to them allll the way back to Sounding the Seventh Trumpet but this release seems way different from their previous albums. I applaud them for trying something different, but this is just waaay out of the that category of different. Not a good different I might add, this is Avenged Sevenfold's most radio friendly album to date and boring for the most part. The agressiveness in the vocals are very weak and for the most part not very interesting. The vocals have not changed at all since City of Evil. But by all means, if you loved City of Evil you will love this album.

This is an outstanding example of musicianship. The guys of Avenged Sevenfold prove that they are all around musicians on this album. They cover so many different genres on this album that it will keep your head spinning. Everything is wonderfully written, played, and produced. I'll admit, upon first listening it took me for a bit of a loop, but once I listened to it a bit more I realized just how amazing it was. I've always been a huge fan and as long as they're keeping it new and interesting, I'll always go along for the ride. This is definately worth buying.

    One Of The Best CD's

I have heard a few songs from this CD...Almost Easy, Critical Acclaim, Scream, and A Little Piece Of Heaven. This is an amazing CD from what I've heard. The lead singers girlfriend Valary is back to doing her "demon-girly scream" on the track Scream. Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance are still doing their dueling solo's and are still guitar gods. And The Rev's drumming has gotten even faster and better. Also...The Rev SINGS. ^_^ Oh by the way...this is NOT Pop.

i was never really an avenged sevenfold fan until i listened to this particular album... i thought that although melodically they were great that m shadows was just a flash in the pan that would blow his voice out after two albums. i was incredibly wrong; although there is still alot of screaming he has really challenged his voice and sings more in tune with the raging guitar riffs and strong rhythm section. i would consider this to be a "must-buy"

I waited for this CD for a long time and for me it was worth all those torturous months. A7X Is broadening their horizons and it sounds awesome. They still sound like A7X just more mature. There's nothing bad to say about the CD. It's all around awesome. I even like the country sounding songs. Just goes to show the band's creativity and talent. Definitely a must have for A7X fans and rock fans worldwide.

This album draws you in and sends you on a journey, a sometimes sick journey, but an awesome one none the less. I have been a fan of Avenged Sevenfold since their first album, and i have yet to be dissappointed. I really enjoy the song "A Little Peice of Heave," it's so sick (in every sense of the word) It's has so much imagery, and the vocals are amazing.
