Marvel's Avengers hit the screen with the feel of a coming together of musical super group or entourage. What works in the film is Loki. He is the protagonist, the bad guy. One of the very few times the bad guy actually has a presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Loki makes the film work. At times, this film feels bloated. Too many characters and too much going on. There is too much character development which is a constant issue in everything Joss Wheadon does. Overall the film is fun and a decent popcorn flick, but overrated. The ending is almost an exact copy of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The villains look exactly the same and the only difference is Superheroes replaced Autobots.
