Whew. Where to start. Great music, interesting world, and secrets galore. The difficulty is higher than some other metroidvania-style games (especially in the beginning), but it's not too tough. Really fantastic game and an excellent tribute to games like Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night.

This has been one of the best Metroidvania games since I have played Super Metroid. When a game has that classification you expect certain things. An intricate and detailed map that requires an incredible depth of exploration as well as many hidden secrets that tie the map together. This game has all of that with the additional layer of a rather interesting history and story to the game as well. The graphics are very nostalgic and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The Multiverse Edition has some cool exclusives in it which I enjoyed as well including the map and documentary. I was sad there was no soundtrack here though. There is in the Switch version though.

Are you a fan of Metroidvania games (Metroid/Castlevania type platformers)? Then this is a game for you. Dare I say it's the best new retro style Metroidvania game I can remember playing. Music, control, graphics, bosses, presentation, game play, etc., are all awesome! On top of all that, this edition comes with a boatload of extras while still costing half (or more w/Gamer's Club) of what the typical PS4 game goes for.

If you love the original Metroid then you will absolutely adore this game. Tight controls, great gameplay, metroidvania progression, lots of weapons, varied environment and enemies, amazing music, and all done by one person. Crazy! Get it.

This may be my favorite PS4 game that I bought all year. If you are into old school metroidvania type games, this one is amazing. Excellent minimalist style graphics, awesome soundtrack and tight gameplay. Just buy it.

This game has great exploration gameplay with just enough action. The music is very good and will have you advancing in the game with joy.

Good old school game for the Metroidvania fans out there.

Axiom Verge is a wonderful recall of classics like Metroid and Super Metroid but with some great modern touches. The multiverse edition is packed with goodies such as a Blu-ray DVD documentary and an art book (albeit a small one). This is one of my favorite games that has a lot of replay value and is a blast every time!

What a great game the story good and the game play reminds me of the 8-bit days.

This game is a great Metroidvania game. The multiverse edition comes with some cool stuff. I can't believe one dude made this game.

I finally got around to playing this after hearing the hype for a few years. It's pretty good, not as good as the hype made it out to be though.

Axiom Verge is a must buy for any Metroidvania fans out there.
