Great pizza oven. Takes about 15-20 mins to get up to temp, make sure you find a good dough recipe and the results will be great!

Assembly was easy and took just 10 minutes. I removed the flavor bars from my grill beneath where I was to put the pizza oven. I put the oven on a cold grill and set the burners to max. It was ready in 15 minutes. My grill can put out 70,000 BTU, more than average grills. Smaller grills will likely take a bit longer. No worry as there is an easy to read temp gauge on top so you know when it reaches the right temp. Once up to temp you can cook a pizza in a few minutes. You can’t set it and forget it, have to tend to turn the pizza quite a bit. Not a problem since it cooks so fast. Spinning the pizza with it in the oven takes some finesse since there is not much room on the sides left to work with. But the technique is not hard to pick up. Use some cornmeal on the stone before setting the pizza on it. It avoids sticking and makes the pizza easier to spin in the oven. Making pizza dough takes allot more time than you might think due to waiting periods for the dough to rest. I read the manual a few days ahead of time and while on vacation I could allow for it. For future weekend parties when time is more limited, I will try the dough at my supermarket bakery or pick some up from a pizza place Since it is lined with real stone, It’s a bit heavy. It’s easy enough to get a secure grip on it to move, but still not something you want to move far very often. You’ll need a sturdy place to store it when not in use. I’ll probably continue to keep mine on the grill since it fits under my lid. I’ll move it off to a heavy wood table close by when not in use. The small counter hanging off some grills may not be strong enough, or the weight may tip some small grills. The paint is holding up just perfectly fine after a few uses. Don’t bang or drag it to avoid damaging the finish or cracking a stone. There’s nothing else to really break or go wrong. It should last a very long time. Pros: • Excellent quality • High end appearance • Quick and easy to assemble • Good weight. Heavy enough to cook evenly, but not overdone. • Cooks pizza fast. • Fun! A cool conversation pieces. Something different everyone can get into. • It’s a great value. Everything you need to cook a pizza is in the box except for the pizza of course. Cons: • If you have much topping or cheese spillage, it can slow you down. Scrape it best you can and let the residue burn off the food and you should be good after a few minutes. Calling this a “Pizza” Oven sells it short. It’s a party in a box that can cook so much more than pizza. I thought it would be great for small get together, which it is. But I can’t wait to try cooking other things in it. I highly recommend it.

Works as advertised. We admit we have a professional grille that can develop the right temps....but you will absolutely need one additional item called the pizza "peel"....then you will get perfect pizzas

Does a good job. Your stone will crack if you put it too close to the heat. Make sure to spin your pie. Heat is in the back. Gave this to a friend, needed an upgrade to a wood fired oven. A great stepping stone into the professional at home pizza maker.

Everyone loves the pizza oven. We were getting tired of burgers, dogs, and chicken on the grill. It was fun and everyone was cooking their own pizza so wasn’t one person doing all of the cooking.

I've been getting more and more interested in making my own pizzas since I have been doing more and more outdoor cooking on the grill. I've looked into building an actual wood-fired stone pizza oven, and looked into getting a cheaper pizza oven...But when I saw this, I thought it was exactly what i was looking for. It fits on my gas Weber grill, so I didn't need to make an expensive investment in something else, I just needed the BakerStone... Out of the box assembly was easy, I love the pizza peel it comes with, its super useful. Trying it for the first time, it took about 20-30 minutes to preheat all the way... Once I slid the pizza in (the tricky part) I followed the instructions and turned the pizza every 45 sec -1min to ensure it cooked evenly... the pizzas were cooked in about 5-6 minutes... Crust was awesome! Exactly what i was looking for, and exactly what I've been missing by cooking pizzas in the kitchen oven,... I think this is a great accessory for someone who is interested in cooking their own pizzas at home!

Much More Than Just a Pizza Oven!

I cook at least 80 percent of my evening meals on grills, year-round, and have done so for at least 15 years. When I saw the Pizza Oven Box Kit, I thought it would be a great addition to my grilling needs and that the BakerStone would allow me to cook pizzas and similar type dishes outdoors. I like to bake low carb soft tortillas in my kitchen convection oven with cheese, pepperoni and various garden vegetables, and I’m often experimenting with low carb cookies and breads. I expected this to have similarities to a brick pizza oven, but I had no idea of the vast array of food items that could be cooked with speed and to perfection in this stone oven. There is minor assembly with the Pizza Oven Box, but it is so simple that I didn’t even find the directions until after I had assembled the product. The item is packaged so well that I could have used the directions to unpack the stone pieces, because I did not want to break them unboxing the oven. I happened to have opened the wrong end from where the directions are packed, and between the bottom of the box and me were layers of Styrofoam, the oven and accessory pieces, and the stones. I wish that there had been some indication on the packaging as to which end to open first in order to find the instructional literature. I have a propane 3 burner Sport’s Grill that I haven’t been using, so I removed a similar size grilling box that is a removable part of that grill and replaced it with the Pizza Oven. With no heat deflectors between the Pizza Oven and the burners, the Pizza Oven temperature gauge began to heat up very quickly and reached near maximum temperature on the gauge within 6-8 minutes. The first item that I cooked was a pizza. Having used Pizza stones in the oven for years, I’m use to a nice crust. But the Pizza Box made the entire pizza as perfectly cooked as the bottom of the crust cooks when just using a pizza stone in the oven. The whole pizza cooked to perfection in about 7 minutes. The next evening, I decided to grill vegetables. I did so by using a pizza pan with olive oil and the vegetables sautéed perfectly in about 4 minutes. I cook a lot of salmon on the grill and it usually takes 20-25 minutes. On the pizza pan, my Salmon grilled to perfection in about 9 minutes. That worked so well that I thought I would try baking oatmeal cookies and they turned out as good or better than any cookie that I have ever baked in my convection ovens. I now have my Pizza Box set up on the 3-burner sports grill next to my other grill. Between the two, I have the capabilities to cook an entire gourmet meal that combines grilling and baking. This BakerStone is so very much more than just a pizza oven! Limitations on what food dishes to prepare are few, because if you can dream up the recipe, I believe you could have success with most of them turning into great dishes to serve.

I hardly ever review products like this but man this pizza box delivers. My family loves this thing so much everytime I grill they ask me to bring out Bakerstone. I spent the better part of two weeks trying this out and it works out wonderful. Summer has never been better. The first trick here is to make sure you have a 4 burner grill otherwise it will not get hot enough at all. First off the BakerStone Pizza Oven Box Kit looks good and would fit in with any design of the grill. The box also cooks the pizza quickly and evenly. After about heating the box up for about 15-30 mins, each pizza takes 5 mins and its done. This is the best way I have ever cooked pizza in my life. Once off the grill, it tastes very delicious. Know your grill and you should be fine on baking it perfectly each time. While it's mainly for pizza you can cook Fish, Veggies, PERFECT FOR COOKIES, and Roast meat. It comes with everything you need to pull the pizza out of the oven but my downside to this grill is that it's pretty tough to clean out. Other then that its an amazing product to me. All of this product really depends on your skills as a cook on the grill, You have to keep checking on the pizza. The product itself isn't the failure as much as you have to get used to using it. I love it and would recommend to anyone who wants to expand their grilling efforts and make fantastic pizza. I was personally skeptical about this product but was vastly proved wrong. Indeed going to buy one for my friend.

At the outset, let me say that we were AMAZED at how authentic our pizzas turned out ... all in about 4 minutes in the pizza box on the BBQ. The crust was crisp but not hard, all of our toppings were cooked real well. Amazed at how HOT the oven got being on top of our BBQ. Because of the oven's size, it's difficult (...not impossible...) to make more than 1 small pizza at a time. I'm going to try rectangular pizzas in the future to see if I can cook more than 1 at a time. What I didn't like were the instructions and the 30 minutes it took to disassemble then reassemble the oven, making it ready for use. While "logic dictates" that all the styrofoam had to be removed from the internal portions of the oven before "stone" assembly and use, it would be nice if there was a mention of what to do with the styrofoam in the instructions. The BakerStone - Pizza Oven Box Kit went together pretty easy (...except as noted above...) and was easy to use. The BOX got hot on the BBQ rather quickly, which surprised me. SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENT ... make the internal portion of the oven TALLER. The 3 1/2 to 4 inch height was a little narrow while trying to rotate the pizza during cooking ... plus ... there was the threat of getting burned during the process. A bit higher would eliminate these issues. Overall a GREAT PRODUCT and I would recommend to anyone with an outdoor BBQ! I have already told a group of my friends, and one couple used to own a pizza shop.

It’s clear that you are thinking to buy this oven because you have an interest in doing your own pizza party in your patio and you own a nice size barbecue, otherwise this is not for you. If you know the difference between cooking in an electric or gas oven versus doing it in a convectional oven and if you admire how the stones can prepare the pizza to a level like the Plazza Nabonna (Italy), this is a must have product for your house. I never intended to be a good cook so I didn’t try up to know baking my own pizza so all my tests have been with the artisanal pizza available in a near store and I can confirm that the level obtained is over the average with a seamless bake in the entire pizza. Couple of recommendations: the pizza should have the right size or you risk to introduce it too much up to the back of the oven where the heat is directly arriving from the barbeque (your pizza burns if goes to the direct fire). You should regularly turn the pizza to make sure that the crust is evenly cooked. Finally, you should not care at all of how dirty the stones are after cooking your pizzas, cleaning it to avoid old food and bacteria is fine but the stones are not going to be perfectly clean and white as the first day. A final consideration, the oven should be mounted and you will need 5 to 15 minutes and a Phillips screwdriver. The instructions are clear enough in an ikea-kind-of manual but depending you comfort level with the tool be smart and plan ahead.
