My first 3d printer. Made the right choice!

I've waited some time to purchase a 3d printer, with many friends having different models. I made the right choice going with the Bambu Mini (I have friends with other Bambus, Enders, etc.). The thing that sold me on Bambu is the ease of setup and use. I didn't have to mess with bed leveling (after watching friends struggle with other brands and printing lots of spaghetti). I ran through the setup which was super easy and took less than 20 mins I think and was up and printing. My first prints were perfect! One of my friends (he uses an Ender), said he thought I was getting lucky with some prints and not to get mad when it messed up. Well, so far it hasn't messed up and I think he's reconsidering his choice in printers. I'd also maybe opt for the AMS for multi spools/colors. I didn't think I'd care about other colors but once you see the huge variety of things you can print, it's something to consider. I purchased mostly for printing enclosures for electronics projects but there is so much cool stuff you can print! It's amazing to stand there and watch your parts just come alive from a spool of plastic filament. It's a game changer. If you haven't had one, get one. If you have one and have issues/fight with setting it up, get a Bambu Lab printer... you won't regret it. Thanks Bambu! You will help me take my maker skills to the next level!

Great machine, but kept getting "y axis" errors

Bought for my 10 year old during the holiday at the sale price of $199.
While the unit was easy to setup and use, and the app is very intiuitive, the machine kept giving a "y belt" error.
We had lots of success printing and using the machine, but with the constant error messages support recommended replacing the y belt. I ended up returning and upgrading to the A1 which to me seems quieter, and without any issues as well as the larger build plate.

This 3D printer has exceeded my expectations. Setup was straightforward, and within a short time I was printing clean, detailed models with consistent results. The print quality is impressive, with smooth layers and strong finished pieces.
It’s user-friendly enough for beginners but still powerful enough for more advanced projects. The printer runs reliably, handles filament well, and the bed adhesion has been excellent. I’ve used it for everything from small detailed prints to functional parts, and it performs great every time.
Overall, this is a solid, dependable 3D printer and a great value for the price. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into 3D printing or upgrade their current setup

The Bambu Lab A1 Mini is a compact and fast 3D printer. It is my fourth overall printer and 2nd Bambu, and I was pleasantly surprised. The print quality stays good, even at high speeds. I have had no problems printing PLA, PETG, and TPU. Overall, it is a nice printer, especially for beginners.

Very happy with this purchase...this printer is very well constructed and very easy to set up and works extremely well. The app is very easy to use. I bought this for my 10 yr old son, and he was able to print fun objects with relative ease. The touch screen and app have many print suggestions, so it's very easy for kids (and adults) to use.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Ultimate Beginner's Dream: Bambu Lab A1 Mini is Pure Magic!
I don't usually write reviews, but the Bambu Lab A1 Mini has completely changed the game for me. As a total beginner who was intimidated by 3D printing, I can confidently say this machine is pure magic. It deserves every single one of these five stars—and more!
From the moment I unboxed it, the ease of use was astonishing. Setup took maybe 15 minutes, which mostly involved watching it auto-calibrate itself. There was no fiddling with bed leveling, no endless tuning, and absolutely no complex jargon to sift through. It truly is plug-and-play. If you've been hesitant to get into 3D printing because of the steep learning curve, the A1 Mini eliminates it entirely.
But the real star of the show is the print quality. I was expecting decent results, but what I got was consistently flawless, breathtakingly detailed prints right out of the box. Layers are virtually invisible, overhangs are handled beautifully, and the speed at which it achieves this quality is unbelievable. It handles everything from quick prototypes to detailed figurines with professional-grade precision. The A1 Mini doesn't just print; it produces works of art. If you want high-quality prints without the headache, stop searching—this is the one you need.

Bought for 7 & 11 year old. 11 year old can use it independently. The app makes it easy to use. Able to print bigger items as compared to some of the smaller printers. Would recommend.

This 3D printer is absolutely perfect for first-time users. I purchased it for my 11-year-old, and the setup was incredibly quick, almost right out of the box with minimal effort required. Within minutes, it was ready to use. My child can easily print designs independently using the app, which is very intuitive and user-friendly. I also love that it offers the option to design custom creations using the studio program on a computer, allowing room to grow and learn more advanced skills over time. Overall, this is an excellent choice for beginners of all ages, especially kids who are curious about technology and creativity. Highly recommended for first-time 3D printer owners!

My Take on the Bambu Lab A1 Mini

I’m pretty new to 3D printing, but the A1 Mini is super easy to get started with—it’s like it was made for beginners like me. You just set it up quickly, and it calibrates itself, no fuss. It’s really quiet too, so I can run it in my room without bothering anyone. It prints stuff fast and looks great, and you can even add a thing for printing in multiple colors if you want. The printing area is small (about 7 inches on each side), but that makes sense for something this cheap (around $300) and easy to carry around—perfect for fun little projects. All in all, it’s a solid, dependable printer that works well for newbies and more experienced folks.

So far, pretty happy with it. My son printed nonstop for the first three days. I wish it was a little easier to understand how to fix a clog issue. I’m sure I can take the time to really read all of the documentation, but I would just love a 123 step process, especially since that is the most common issue we expect to have with these 3-D printers. Otherwise, the quality is good, the app is easy to use, and there are plenty of options to choose from for projects

Bought it as a gift for our 9 year old daughter and was worried about the learning curve and how hard it would be to get it up and running. Followed the setup instructions and within probably 30-40 minutes had our first print started already! We’ve probably printed 20 things out so far and the Bambu Handy app has been so easy to use and we haven’t had one issue with the printer everything as been great! Would definitely suggest as an amazing beginner printer but you will want a bigger print bed as you print more!

This is the first 3D printer we have used ourselves and it could not have been a more pleasant experience unless an Oompa Loompa rolled out of the box and sang a song to present it to us.
It was SO easy to set up (it self-levels!), the prints are VERY quick, there are no fumes and the smell is minimal. The prints are pretty good; we would be curious to see the same print in resin for comparison.
We absolutely recommend this product, especially as a user's first 3D printer.

This little printer packs a punch and does not disappoint! It's fast and so far at this point extremely reliable for me. Setup was a breeze and it was printing within 20 minutes. I've done a variety of model printing, ranging from 28mm to 120mm and so far they have turned out great. The included .4mm nozzle has worked well in a variety of print jobs but if you want small/fine detail then I recommend picking up the .2mm nozzle. I am very happy with this purchase and no complaints!

I ordered two A1 Minis from Best Buy for Christmas and had very different experiences.
The first unit was a gift and worked perfectly right out of the box. It has been printing great for the past three weeks, which impressed me enough to order a second one for myself.
Unfortunately, the second unit failed during initial calibration due to a Z-axis issue. I checked for obstructions, tried homing the axis, restarted the printer, and reran calibration, but nothing helped and the noises from the machine only got worse. Bambu Labs’ troubleshooting guide pointed to a possible motor failure, which is disappointing to see straight out of the box.
The return process with Best Buy was easy (Thank you Best Buy!) but it’s disappointing that the A1 Mini is now out of stock and the sale price may no longer be available.
Despite this, I do plan to buy another one, as I believe (and hope) this was an isolated issue.

So far, it’s excellent. Really sophisticated piece of machinery for a reasonable price. Easy to get going out of the box (just some quick assembly). Works perfectly, so far, though I have tested multi color printing yet. Seems like a thing where you will want to buy accessories, but so far very impressed. We got it for Xmas for our 7 year old and he’s loving it. Wants to 3D print everyday (though I’m worried about our electric bill! :). Highly recommend.

I bought this printer due to how easy it said it was to set ip and wanted to start printing with something small to see if i would even like this and so far i am enjoying it. It was plug and play straight out of the box and been using it everyday since. The app is user friendly and rasynti navigate. The only issue i have had so far is some of the prints i would like to do need the AMS which i dont have.
