My granddaughter is an avid reader and this has saved money and trips to the library. She can read anywhere(she especially likes it in the car). She looks forward to an upcoming trip to the beach to be able to use it.

If you just want a dedicated reader, you can't go wrong with a Nook. The physical buttons make it easy to turn pages when holding in a single hand. The integrated light is simple, but evenly lights the screen. You can adjust the brightness. My wife will sometimes read in bed with the lights out and it's not too bright that it keeps me awake. The built-in dictionary is very robust, even archaic English words from Regency and Victorian era books. Admittedly the Nook store doesn't have as many titles as Amazon, but they have all the books that I'd want to read. Also this doesn't have cellular data for getting books on the go, but I can just tether it to my phone if I needed a quick book on the road. Your usage may vary of course.

love the fact that you can read in bed without disturbing my husband. It is very portable great for reading anywhere. No glare so far on the screen very easy to read in sunlight way better then trying to read on my tablet. Downloading books is fast and easy. love it.

great for reading books I get from the library. The glowlight makes is much easier to read inside and the e-ink makes it easier to read outside.

excellent to read books both from Barnes and Noble and free from library. A little trial and error to set up library down load. Works great now. Literally takes second to down load book. glowlight is great. Very easy to read in dark room.

Simple glow is wonderful as a reader only. Makes reading enjoyable again and it is so simple. Nice to go back to the simple days when something was just a reader and nothing else.

No words to describe it as it is awesome! Now that I am force to write something when I already said it is awesome. I don't like to go on and on with writing. I am get to the point and please in future don't force us to write a "book"

This device was exactly what I was looking for...something simple, with very few bells and whistles. It is a good device for the novice and first time user of this type of e-reader.

This is my third e reader love that it is light, easy and compact. The screen does get scratched if you don't protect it

I purchased this for my husband who travels & it is nice to have this e reader instead of carrying around book(s). The glow light is also helpful.

this is the 3rd glowlight nook i've purchased. best buy's price made it a no brainer when deciding to buy this or the new glowlight (120$) or the Paperwhite (120$). big feature on these older ones is page turning buttons on each side that make it easy to read with one hand. i can't believe they did away with this feature on the new one. it's a little bit sluggish if you are used to an ipad but face it, it beats turning pages and holding a brick like book.

I purchased this as a gift and the girls loved it. The glow light allows them to continue reading their favorite books while on long road trips.

The Nook is perfect for reading. There is no glare as there is with tablets, and it is very easy on the eyes - like reading a paper book.

Outside of the little pin point of light that other reviewers wrote about showing up so quickly, I'm very pleased with my purchase. The Nook is a great size and weight, fits easily in my purse, holds a lot of books and the glowlight is good. The pin point of light luckily is in the margin is not really noticeable. The battery life is great and, since I have a tablet, didn't need more wifi than what the Nook needs to download my books. Purchasing books is easy and downloads automatically and with Daily Find, can get new books really cheap. I highly recommend this to someone who wants to read their books electronically and easily.

I absolutely love my nook! I am able to read inside and out with any glare. The glow light feature allows me to read in read without disturbing my husband if he is sleeping.

Our daughter wanted this for Christmas because of the back light. She says it is amazing!

So glad I bought this. It is so much easier to read ebooks on this nook. I'm glad I splurged for the backlit model as well.
