We wanted a powerful binocular for when we travel and cruise. This is a very powerful binocular, with good quality lenses. The negative is that it is a fairly hefty item, and rather large. It comes with a small tripod, but I do not see using that much for the type of use we anticipate, mostly on trips and cruises. It comes with a soft pouch case, not hardshell. With the bulk of it, it is a little difficult to slip it back in. But we wanted power and we got it. Very close up, clear view from far away.
