    Fantastic Multiplayer

Campaign is fine, but anyone that knows the Battlefield franchise knows that the multiplayer is the crux of the game, and what it is truly judged on. The change of scenery, time period, and weapon mechanics is a welcome change from BF4's, and BF3's modern styles. I mean the actual damage multiplier, spread, range, and overall mechanics of the weapons is completely new. Sorry COD (call of duty) fan boys! You won't be able to jump in this one and just run around and kill everyone who happens not to be looking; the maps are large, the guns require more skill, and killing a player takes more than a burst from 3 meters out with you MRXZRE-9000 killing machine. So for the more mature FPS fan, that requires some kind of strategy, even without speaking, this is your game. Did I say the graphics are awesome?

I have been a fan of the Battlefield games for some time, particularly the Bad Company set, but I was busy playing other games when I bought this for my son and didn't plan on getting a copy for myself. Until I saw him playing the campaign (s). FIVE separate stories, each with a different spin and challenges. Non of them are terribly long, but they are varied. So I bought my own copy and played through the campaign in a single (long) evening. Then I went to the online multiplayer. Wow. Once I discovered the right class for my playing style, I was hooked. Good advancement, I love the new attack/defend online structure (versus the old capture the flag format). I recommend this to any fan of solid shooters!

So far my experience has been really enjoyable! Though I'm not an expert at the mulitplayer, I admire its gameplay and realism. The single player has some emotional ties and feels less like an afterthought and more like a well thought out addition. Definitely a game I'd recommend to anyone.

Ive played almost all of the battlefield games, and this is far by and away the most fun ive had with as MP game. The gameplay, and mechanics are polished well detailed. Everything moves silky smooth, the sound design is excellent, and the graphical detail is absolutely amazing. If you get this game and start seeing a blimp exploding and crashing, run over and watch, its amazing what these new consoles can do now. The single player portion is excellent as it focuses on different countries during the war and puts a real personal tragedy to what went on. It's very serious and well done and puts things in perspective as to the atrocities of world war I.

Realistic gameplay and realistic battles with up to 64 players online. Really beats out how unrealistic some of the other shooter games have become. Large map sizes are great for all game players from snipers to assault. Adds some strategy from moving through the map, rather than running w/ spray and pray. Spawning is also much better on the larger maps. Glad they took out the helicopter, but flying the planes takes some skill. No more homing missiles in this one, but you can drop bombs on some fools Love how you can't really one shot someone in multiplayer. Like that it gives you a chance, and no overpowered kill streaks.

It's exactly what I expected. It's Battlefield 4, but in WW1. There isn't really any innovation, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It plays great, it looks fantastic, and it has tons of options to customize your playstyle and personal preferences. And the campaign is great. Much better than previous BF games. It's split into several smaller campaigns, each in a different theatre. Very cinematic with deep character development for the time spent in each campaign. And of course the multiplayer is great. Again, very little innovation, but if you've played previous BF games, you know what to expect.

Overall, if you liked Battlefield 4 you'll like BF1. But while it does some things better, some things aren't improved. The maps feel better designed, graphics are definitely improved, weather effects are more dramatic, and the sound design is incredible. The new Operations mode (like the old Rush mode but moving from one sector to the next) gives a sense of progression and importance to each battle. On the downside, there is much less variety of weapons and weapon attachments versus BF4. There is less variety in vehicles and anti-vehicular weapons. This may be in keeping with the difference in time periods, but it means less customization options and less incentive to progress. Hopefully as the DLC is released the greater variety of maps will be accompanied by more weapons and vehicles. As it is now, it's still a great game and I've had a ton of fun with it.

Great game. The campaign had some really cool set pieces, as well as a decent (albeit short and watered down) story(ies). Overall, the campaign was much better than many of the previous Battlefield titles. However, my one complaint is that, while some of the stories did elicit at least some sort of emotional response, the campaign itself could have been much stronger had they focused on one (or maybe even two) specific stories, rather than each mission being their own separate thing. It is hard to become attached to the characters when you only spend an hour with them before the story ends.

Love the campaign on this. Kind of morbid when it starts but it leads into a great game. Multiplayer is different but the same. Same big maps, lots of players, vehicles, etc. New experience with a couple of additions. Still a good franchise overall.

I think in terms of battlefield games, this one beats both BF3 & BF4. Games are more competitive, gameplay variety is better, graphics and weapons are an obvious improvement. Doesn't get stale as quick as previous games. Maps are even better. Things that I think got worse are the medal system. Before you couldearn towards as many medals at once as you wanted, now you can only make progess on one at a time, and you only get a week before it resets. Does make the game feel more narrow when you only focus on one goal at a time. I still give it 5/5 and will not bother collecting medals.

My friends all started playing this game and has been their go to game since it first came out. I was getting a little burnt out on first person shooter games but I caved under the pressure and was glad I did. The maps are huge and wonderfully detailed. The multiplayer battles are massive and so much fun with how many people are playing against each other on one map. Its a blast to grab tanks, planes, horses, boats, and whatever other vehicles are available to add a fun element to the gameplay that Call of Duty lacks these days. I definitely recommend it if you like this genre of games

This game looks actually beautiful, however grim. It took a long time to load the game, definitely a negative. World War 1 is a perfect match for this game. Multi-play maps are great and this game is engrossing. Graphics are excellent!

I have not really been a big fan of the Battlefield games, except for Hardline. I tried this one because I am completely sick of the hyper fast, futuristic trend in shooters lately. I'm glad I took a chance on this one! The campaign is amazing - instead of one long boring story, it is broken up into 6 smaller stories, told from the perspective of 6 different people in different fronts of the war, which is taking place in an alternate WW1 setting. Multiplayer is awesome as well - huge scale fights with destructible environments. Highly recommended!

At first I was excited to play Battlefield 1 but after many hours of gameplay I realized that the missions were only meant as a warmup. The first mission was pretty plain and didn't really get me amped up for the rest of the missions (which I must say ended too quickly). I did enjoy the multiplayer side of the house. Plenty of maps and a lot of large scale battle. Made for some really good gameplay. Was a bit annoyed at a few bugs that would prevent me from going to another map without restarting the entire program. Load times were a bit sketchy as well. Over all, minor things to deal with as the game itself was really exciting!

I remember when Battlefield 1942 came out and just spending hours on the huge maps. The battles covering land, sea and air. Battlefield 1 takes me back to all of that. The WWI setting is something that hasn't been used a lot. In this age of modern combat and futuristic combat, going back in time in this genre of video game is a breath of fresh air. The maps are huge. The battles are absolutely brutal. The vehicles are fun to operate. Literally everything about this game is fantastic.

Very good campaign and multiplayer first-person shooter. I play with friends online and am able to use vehicles in combat ranging from WWI era tanks to airplanes. Enjoy playing on large maps.
