I love this original BattleStar Galactica. What's not to like about battles in space between Human kind and the electronic creatures they created then turned against humans. Watch as Cylons display their wrath ‼️

One of my favorite shows growing up. Finally in 4k.

Never had seen before wasn’t quite as spectacular as I was thinking but it’s worth a watch still for sure

This Show has never looked better. I don’t think the producers in 1978 were thinking about watching it on an 8k UHDTV with 20 Atmos speakers immersing our faces with jaw dropping tech. Originally most of us watched this on a 20” JVC color TV equipped with one 4” speaker. Anything bigger would have exposed the poor NTSC 480i 15.75 KHz signal that was standard for all. Fast forward nearly 50 years, the fact we get to see this in 4K UHD glory is a gift. It looks fantastic. There are scenes with more film grain than others. The special effects have been cleaned up significantly. The sound is as best as you can ask for. The DTS HD 2.1 surround is good as it’s gonna get. Even “Star Wars” had a 2.0 stereophonic track originally aired in the theater. Overall, I’m really happy with what we got here. It would have been nice to get a digital copy, or even some special features, but what you do get is a quality disc set. Well done.

Back in the day, Star Wars was all the rage and you had MANY imitators. Star Trek came first - but that was mostly dialog and for adults, but Star Wars was more exciting! I know that there was Space:1999, Buck Rodgers and some others that were OK for what they were, but Battlestar Galactica - while no Star Wars, was stronger than other imitators in look and story lines. It turned out that many who worked on Star Wars, worked on this, hence similarities in the spacecraft and the Cylons being like Stormtroopers. I recall that this came on NBC back in the late 70's and early 80's and it was good show, and they even had toys to go with it. I have not seen the show since then, but once I saw this on 4K at this price - I was shocked and I bit! I never knew that this existed and none of the site that I go on daily ever mentioned this title. It was a blind buy for me. I popped it in - and it exceeded my expectations! It was crystal clear with strong color and depth! Details were not as minute, but still very good. I did not watch it through yet, but it immediately brought back memories. It is also a weird feeling when you can think back 45 years ago, yet be barely older than that... If you remember it - get it. I doubt if I would get the whole series or even the newer one that came out, but I am happy to have this, and have the quality be actual 4K quality. Also, IMDB says that the TV aspect ratio is 4:3 but the theatrical ratio (they say this came out in theaters) was 1:85:. It does not say which is the native ratio, but this disc is in widescreen and it looks great. Many TV shows shot on film would or could have extra information that was cut out on the sides to fit 4:3 TV's, so anything extra COULD be true. I think that if this had not been true widescreen, they would have either made it 4:3 or included it in the package.

Been a Galactica fan since it first aired and got this copy on BB's Black Friday deal. Great picture transfer to 4k, but the picture is stretched to full screen from its native 4:3, which means some of the picture is lost. Could have upgraded to surround, only having a 2.0 audio track. Still worth the purchase.

This really benefits from the 4K upgrade. There are some visible changes with film grain from live action to SFX shots but it's not very jarring.

Blast from the past, a great story with a great cast from the good old days.

4K picture and sound on this television series pilot was excellent. Story line and acting by Lorne Greene. Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict, Jane Seymour, Laurette Spang and others made this disc one of my favorites.

Ill just say BSG78 Has never looked or sounded so good. Ever. If you have a 4k player and are a BSG78 fan, this was worth every penny.

Awesome movie ! This movie brings back so many great memories ! If you’re a Sci Fi enthusiast, you need this in your collection !

The picture quality was amazing making the fight scenes with all the special effects from back then way better visually.

The quality of this upgraded film is fantastic. If you have the Blu-ray then repurchase it on 4K! You won't regret it.

Today's movies look awesome in 4K UltraHD. There's not much you can do with older movies though.

Classic Sci-Fi movie. Great story and great soundtrack. One of the best in this movie genre.
