    Noisy noise-suppression system

Very expensive headset, for the price it should've been quieter during soft music. Didn't like it enough to keep so not sure about long-term reliability or quality.

This was a Christmas gift and after reading reviews, I never opened the package. I went to the store and tested the earphones in the store and the reviews I read were correct. The noise cancelation feedback was unbearable at low volumes. The main reason I wanted a set of noise cancelation Beats was for the Noise Cancelation because of my frequent time spent on an airplane. Also read that battery life was poor and once I used them in the store I wasn't big on how the earphones moved around to fold up. Could see potential problems with that in the long run. Overall though, they were comfortable, and have a great look to them. Just a shame the other things at that price point make them not worth having for me.

Upon putting them on, I immediately heard the hiss of sound cancellation. This took away from the music as my sound plane made it always in the foreground. I also didn't experience the punchy bass that you are supposed to get with this line. I returned mine, and got the Beats Mixr pair, and couldn't be happier.

I have tried on studios and solos hd these are way better then both they are so good looking and kind of Heavy but super Comfortable. also you get so much Accessories the case is so cool and slim trust me they are great headphone. I also have Turtle beaches and the beats are still better. The sound quality is good and it has good bass too there is a small hiss but you can't really hear it just put the volume higher then 75% and it Disappears. Also the Batteries last 25 hours that a long time. they are made of Aluminum that means that they are really Sturdy and dont Break easy. Get these beats they are so Awesome!!! 😃

    Great heaphones

I bought a pair of beats executives about two months ago, and they're great. When looking at reviews from multiple websites, you'll see that they have a very very slight hissing sound from the noise cancelling operation, however if watching something or listening to music, it is easily drowned out by the sound of the audio, so don't worry about it. The price tag is a little hefty at $300, but if you look at other noise cancelling headphones most of the decent to great ones are around a similar price. The big competitor that I found, (this might change) were the Bose qc15's, and they were of a similar quality. The noise cancelling was a little better but the audio quality is much better on these headphones. They are very comfortable, and I've worn them on several 5 hour long plane rides and road trips. I would recommend taking an extra set of batteries, as they wear down fairly quickly (I would say anywhere from 6-12 hours of run time depending on volume) and if you leave them on overnight you will most likely find the batteries dead. This isn't a huge deal, but just be prepared for that. They work great overall, I would just say that the price tag might be a little hefty, that's really the only concern I have about them. Hope this helps!

Great Sound, Step up from Studios

I purchased a pair of Studios and then I heard these in the Apple Store, Amazing sound! So I decided to return them and get these. Couldn't be happier. I was satisfied with the studios but these are much more crisp, the bass is much tighter and not as sloppy (but still has great bass if your looking for that). The studios tend to hurt my ears after a hour or so however there do not! Even with them being heavier. The build quality is much better. Noise canceling is slightly better than the Studios and sound leakage is better as well although there is still some leakage. There is a slight hissing noise from the noise canceling but it dissapears as soon as the music starts. Love these headphones!

I just got a pair and my overall impression is, these are just so premium, from the packaging, to the design, details and finishing. The sound is incredible. The noise canceling adds a bit of a hiss, but I personally don't mind it, since I like a touch of white noise when trying to sleep. Plus, I'm a vinyl fan, so I'm used to it. They look and feel awesome on. Comfort is big for me, but I hate that most headphones in this category look so cheesy on. These have a design edge without compromising at all on comfort. The aluminum, polished look is neutral enough to match any outfit but still manages to stand out in the crowd. Overall, I think these are a fantastic pair of headphones and very much worth the price. For something I use so much, it's for sure a good investment.

    Best headphones I have owned

    Posted .

Let me start by saying that these headphones do have a slight hissing sound, as others have suggested. If you think this will bother you, stop now and go for the Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. I will say that, for me personally, the hissing sound fades after just a few minutes of listening. I watch quite a few videos on flights when I am on business trips. Even during the quiet moments in videos, the hissing sound does not really bother me. The sound is certainly apparent, it just doesn't bother me. When listening to music, it is much less apparent. This sound is completely drowned-out well before 50% volume on my iPod. For me, the best parts of the headphones are the build and durability. The Beats Executive have great sound quality and I find that they are very crisp and clear. Do not expect super heave bass out of this particular model. I see these as more of a travel set, so you are not going to get that heavy boom you would from even the Beats Studio. I have owned both VMODA Crossfade as well as Bose QC15 headphones. These are by far my favorite of the 3. First, the only real knocks that I have against the Beats Executives are the battery life, the price, and the hissing. VMODA Crossfades are much cheaper and have great, great sound quality. The reason I did not care for these is the simple fact that the noise cancelling is non-existent. This set is much cheaper, but I would not even consider them to be noise isolating. I travel a good bit with work and they do not even remotely silence the roaring of a jet engine. The Bose QC15 headphones are a great set of cans. At $300, I certainly did not feel they were worth the high cost given the cheap make and less than desirable look. The Bose QC15s are mostly comprised of plastic and, in my personal opinion, are not in the least bit stylish. The sound, however, is quite superb and the noise cancellation is the best in the business. If the Bose QC15 headphones were $200 or less, they would be the only set of headphones of interest to me. I feel that the Beats Executives combine a stylish look and comfortable fit with durable build and great sound quality. As I mentioned before, the noise cancellation feature could use a bit of work as the technology is nowhere near the quality Bose has. These are on the pricey side as well at $300, but I feel based on the build quality and durability, they are much more worth the cost than Bose. All in all, I do not believe you can go wrong with either the Bose QC15 or the Beats Executive if you are a frequent traveler in need of a noise cancelling headphone. For me, the style, durability, and above average sound quality and noise cancellation was enough for me to stick with the Beats Executive over any other headphone on the market.

As soon as i got these headphones i figured that these were going to be comfortable and durable and i was right. The sound is great (Better than studios) the bass on the executives is crisp unlike the studios with messy and sloppy bass these are a big step up from the studios

    Excellent For Business

While most of you reading this review think this headphone is not worth the money, believe me, it is. It folds completely flat in a case so portability is not a problem, and it is very light as well. It looks stunning with leather and aluminum, which makes it durable. Let's talk about sound quality. I've been using these for music every day, and the ANC work very well, but not as good as the Bose QC15. The Beats Executive feature an auto turn of system to preserve battery, which was very nice as well. All in all, this is a very good headphone that can fit to anyone's life style, whether it be traveling, or just sitting down and listening to some music or streaming a video.

    Great Sound

I received my Beats Executives as a Christmas gift. I was blown away by how much thought the manufacture gave to packaging the executive. It made me feel as though I was getting my monies worth. On holiday vacation I visited family in Washington State. The flight to Washington state was a great test of the Beats Executives performance. The sound quality is great giving beautiful Highs, Mid and Low frequency sound especially if you are a base head (someone who likes that low frequency thump). I was blow away at the quality of sound the Executive produces even with the worst MP3's (Those 128Kb and below). The noise cancellation performance was not so great. I noticed that most High to Mid frequency sounds the Executive did an excellent job of eliminating. That said there where times when I could here the conversations of the passengers sitting directly across from me and the sound of the jet engines. There was also a noticeable tape deck like hiss when no audio is being played. The Executives are very comfortable so much so that I had them on for the entire flight. Overall the Executives are still a good buy for Noise Cancelling headphones in this class.

    Incredible for Electronic Drum Monitoring

I purchased these pups not too long ago to monitor my roland electronic drumset and all I can say is AMAZING. These have met or exceeded my expectations in every single aspect. The ultra crisp high's to the perfect sounding mid's to the super beefy bass. I cannot be happier with my purchase and I also love the high quality and attention to detail that's put into these. They're made out of what seems like a brushed aluminum (just like my macbook pro) which just gives it a super solid feeling (unlike the beats studio's which feel cheap and plastic heavy). The leather (maybe pleather) is SOOOOO insanely soft that when I'm wearing them I can barely notice they're there. This is a MUST buy for those looking to monitor their drums or even just listen to music on your music player.

my son got these for Christmas last year. So far we are on our third pair (thanks to bb warranty). As far as sound goes these are great. Clean crisp bass, you can definitely hear all the music the way it was meant to be hear. Comfort is there as well, by after about an hour they do get heavy and sweaty. The noise cancellation had its pros and cons. It did cancel out noise but I could always hear a high pitch sound at low volumes. Also that is the same reason we returned so many times. Gonna try the mixr beats, something with no batteries

I know if you are reading this review you are doing what most of us did before we invested in the $300 plunge, so youre not alone! Let me save ya some time. Ask yourself these questions and I will let you know if these are for you based on your answers.... How often will you use these and how? If daily and if they will traveling outside of your home often, then these are for you aka Durable construction and they are the most comfortable beats offered What range of music do you listen too? If you are a balanced listener (anything from acoustic to rap to heavy metal to even movies) these are fror you.If you will mainly listen to rap get the studios You like loud? Then any of the Beats are for you Is noise canceling important? These are very sub par for noise canceling. Go with Bose QC2's Thats just a few questions to help get you going. i am very picky about my anything audio related and did my homework on these. If you are not a DJ or using these highly amped music equipment you will be good. If otherwise, go spend 1500 on some sennheisers.

These are great headphones which are a little expensive. You can really feel the bass and overall it has a great sound. They are also very comfortable and durable. The only dealbreaker for some would be the noticeable hiss when you turn on the noise cancelation. You cant really hear that much for above 25% but if your watching a video there might be a problem with some.

    Completely unbiased review

The Beats by Dre Executive headphone is an improvement over the studio, but still has flaws that give it only 3 stars. First off, the style has been refined in a new sleek way, while still maintaining the signature beats logo. The construction of these headphones is much better than that of the studio's or solo HD's. It is made mostly of aluminum and leather, but is light enough to still be comfortable. The sound has also been improved. These headphones no longer "thump" your head like the studios did. The Executive has been balanced across the spectrum, but still produces solid bass, as well as mids and highs. Now if this review were to end here, I would have given this product 5 stars. The flaws of this product are its noise canceling feature, and its price tag. Price can be justified, but the constant hissing that the active noise canceling makes can irritate many people. I don't know how Beats Electronics thought they would get away with this one, but it is a near-fatal flaw. The hefty price and poorly executed noise canceling leave me no choice but to take off 2 stars. Overall, I still would recommend this product under the condition that you know what you're getting before you buy it.

Don't get me wrong i like other brands but when some one see's you with beats they think your a high roller or they think nice style they all look great but these look good as hell. The sound is great and the noise consoling is very good but these is a small hise but u can't hear it when the music is on so it does not bother me. The price is high but the beats are really sturdy and can take a hit these will not break easy.
