I purchased the Beats Pill for my sons 10th birthday...it was a great accessory to his NY Giants themed room. He LOVES it!

People always claim Beats are over-rated. Maybe they are, maybe not. But you will not regret buying this. I love it

Great for Indoor and Outdoor Use.

This is my second Pill and I have found them versatile for both indoor and outdoor use. I use it for my golf league as well as a sound system in my personal space at home. It sounds great and pairs instantly. The only drawback is that at increased volumes the speakers can buzz. Otherwise, it is a solid product.

I was greatly disappointed in the sound quality. I would think a brand by Dre would at least impress with sound. My old $60 docking station sounds better than this pill. I returned the pill and the employee didn't even bother looking in the box to see if it was there (not-so-smart) and refunded my money. While in the store, I asked an employee if they carried any other portable speakers that sounded better. I listened to the Harman Kardon Onyx 2 and was very impressed. It can be purchased for hundreds cheaper elsewhere on the internet. Don't waste your time with the Pill, especially if you like bass. There is none.

How is this rated so high?

I had one of these speakers given to me and here are my thoughts: Pros - It's portable Cons - Terrible sound, overpriced, awkward shape for putting in a bag (neither slim/short), cheap buttons that wear quickly, I could go on. Anyone spending $200 on this should buy either the Sonos Play:1 (if used in the house), or the UE Boom (if used more on the go) for the same price.

I purchased the first generation of the Beats Pills in 2013, and I still use on a few occasions. The sound is good, the bass is decent, and it really gives that sound when you're in the house and you wanna have fun.

MANY BETTER options than the beats pill

Especially for the premium price you pay for the pill, you're just paying for the "b" logo. Behind the logo is just a $20 speaker in premium packaging with the beats name. Definitely better speaks for cheaper like the JBL line of bluetooth speakers or around the same price such as arguably the best bluetooth speaker on the market: UE BOOM 2 and the UE Megaboom.

The Beats Pill 2 has great sound for such a compact speaker (which is why I gave it more than 1 star). The batter life/charging/failure to take a charge are all things that are huge cons - that and you cannot just purchase a replacement battery. We now own a $200 pile of junk. I should also note our Pill had very limited gentle use for not quite a year. Great when it functions, but toast once your battery wont take a charge.

    Disappointed

I bought this speaker eight months ago, and I was impressed with the sound and ease of use. Unfortunately, the charger no longer works, so the speaker only works when plugged in to an outlet. I don't recommend this product until Beats corrects this issue and makes it a more long-lasting product. After reading other reviews, it seems to be a universal issue. Very disappointing and a waste of money in my opinion.

If you want a good portable and 50 cheaper, check out the JBL Charge, you get so much more, just read the reviews on bestbuy compared to this overpriced pill. You wont regret it.
