Headset has a great sound quality. Nice compact design for storage and two cables for phone and music. The Bad....terrible design on ear pieces. The headband and ear cups are connected in such a way that when placed on head they bend out of the factory intended "path of motion" putting abnormal strain on headset and cable that crosses through headband. Also, the package says Android compatibility.....NOT TRUE!!

Previously had the blue Studios, and liked (but didn't love) the sound and grew to be bothered by the insane amount of sound leakage from the Studios earcups. I mean, if I'm throwing on headphones, it defeats the purpose if everyone around me can hear what I'm listening to when the volume is pumped up. And, as anybody knows, some music only sounds good when played loud.
So when my Studios broke, and I went in to get them replaced via the warranty, I took a long look at the Mixrs. What sold me in the end were the other reviews here of better sound quality than the Studios/Solos and the lighter weight than the Pros, with the same amount of minimal sound leakage. After getting them home and testing them out, the sound leak is almost non-existent at high volume levels, and while they are a bit tight at first, breaking them in by stretching them out over a shoebox or something has worked wonders towards improving their fit. While I considered the Pros (and might eventually pick up a pair anyway down the road for just at home use), the portability and sharp sound of the Mixrs is just what I was looking for. Great sound, easy to transport, and the other accessories included make this a good value for the money. You can and should think before shelling out $250 for a set of headphones, but if style AND sound are your thing, you could do a lot worse than the Beats by Dre Mixrs.

Bought them for my boyfriend and two days later they were falling apart. Took them back to the store and the associate said they get a lot of returns on beats. Great sound and style but very poor quality and way to expensive

- Great Sound Quality
- Pretty Comfortable (Ear-cups could have been larger)
- Obviously the bass is terrific
- However, I suspect I could have got a better pair of headphones for cheaper, but I opted for the Beats because 1) they're Beats and 2) the are honestly just a sexy pair of headphones
- Also, when you wear them around your neck, the headband has this plastic that keep the headphones from falling off your head and this makes your neck sweat because they basically stick to your skin

I am a HUGE fan of the Dre Beats, I own several pairs of both in ear and over the ear models. After reading several reviews I was some what hesitant to buy these. After being in the store and listening to the demo pair, I decided to give them a go.
My main concern was the reoccurring issue of comfort, but so far so good. I took them out of the packaging they were a bit stiff but after the 10-15 times I put them on and took them off they loosened right up and now they feel great. I feel that when people spend top dollar for a product they will always find something to complain about, it never fails!
Over all its a great product and fits snug and delivers unrivaled sound for the price. If you are looking for a pair of beats that will stand the test of time these are the pair for you. Enjoy!

Better than any other Beats

These sound better than all other Beats headphones. Period. They actually sound right and don't sound stuffy, bloated, distorted, etc. They also are pretty efficient, giving good sound at regular listening levels.
These things are MUCH better than the other Beats... and I think they're more durable... but I don't really know. They don't feal weird on my ears (like the other Beats with their inverted pressure fealing#. I like the small size and they're surprisingly comfortable, too. I much prefer AKG and Sennheiser to the other Beats models, but these things are dang good in the sound department. To me #and I do some media production work from time to time), things sound about as they should be. Can't do better than that.
I'm surprised that Monster was finally able to whip out a good sounding product. I'm also encouraged by the news that Beats and Monster have parted ways. I think more good things are to come. Maybe speakers?

Best Headphones

I recently bought these headphones after buying a pair of Diesel Vektr headphones. I must say that these headphones are much better and I am more satisfied now that I bought these Mixrs.
These headphones are a bit pricey but what isn't expensive these days? If you want good quality headphones that will last for years, you will need to spend good money. These will run you about $270 after tax. I believe that if any headphones are worth $270, it would be the Mixrs.
The sound quality is absolutely astounding! The base kicks real nice but not too much to take away from the actual music. The sound isolation is great and all outside nose is blocked so you are able to enjoy and experience the music. There is sound leakage but almost all headphones have leakage.
The comfort of the Mixrs is not the greatest (so far). They are really tight on my head, but I have only had the headphones for about two weeks so the headphones are most likely still fitting to the size of my head. I have heard that fitting the headphones around the box overnight helps with the headphones not being so tight. These are on-ear headphones, but these almost cover my whole ear. The bottom of my earlobes are the only part of my ear that are not covered.
I can't say too much about the durability of the Mixrs since I have only had them for a short period of time. These Beats do seem to be durable just by the way they feel and what they are made of.
Overall, if you are looking for good headphones without spending Beats Studio/Pro prices these are the headphones. In my opinion these are the best Beats in the Beats by Dre lineup.

Not worth the price. Even with the volume at low levels, someone 5 feet away can hear what you are listening to. Only good for solitary listening. Forget about using on a plane. Buy another model or brand.

ok guys (keep in mind I'm an average consumer. i'm only 14 years old) honestly, i think these headphones are not worth the amount of money needed to buy them. they're extremely expensive people only believe they're good because they're endorsed by celebrities, athletes, etc. in terms of sound quality, i think they're very good. i don't see why audiophiles complain about the sound quality from beats by dr. dre to be muddy. there is A LOT OF BASS, but it does not drown out the highs and the mids like audiophiles say. another thing, these headphones look AMAZING!!!!!!! they're definitely the coolest looking headphones that i've ever seen. however, they are also the most uncomfortable headphones that i've ever worn. they were extremely tight on my head and personally, i think the solos were more comfortable. the mixes squeezed very tightly on my head and caused A LOT of discomfort the first time i tried them on and i ended up returning them a week later. plus, they are very small. she people said that they were a mix of the solos of and the pros, i was expecting something around the size of the studios. they do feel very durable though and they probably would have lasted me a long time and i love the fact that they have a matted finish and not a slick one because i hate having fingerprints on my headphones. however, that doesn't matter if i can't even enjoy wearing them. honestly, spend the extra money and buy the studios. they're SOOOOOO much more comfortable and worth the extra $50 or maybe even the SOON TO BE COMING OUT BEATS EXECUTIVE however, both of them happen to run on batteries ;(.however, they are much better brands for a cheaper price and better sound quality (i.e. Bose, AKG, Sennheiser, etc.) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, don't but these headphones unless u have a small head and small ears. the tightness of the headphones will kill u, and the fact that these are on-ear and not over-ear bothers ME a lot too. and lastly, thank u if u actually took the time to read my review. i understand that it is long, but thats only because i was EXTREMELY ECSTATIC to have these (i was gonna get the solos but when i found out about the mixrs, i had my parents return the solos and i waited for these to come out). they were a big let down for me. however, if u guys have a different opinion about these headphones, then i hope u enjoy them! have a nice day!

What Headphones Should You Buy? Mixr Dre Beats!!!!!!
This is my first ever post and these Beats are the best sounding to me. I have the first set when they came out, loved them. I had the Pro Studio Beats loved them too. But the Mixr's are better than both of the previous. Nice tight fit on the ears. Music sounds crisp and bass thumps. Trust me, these are the answer for the best choice in headphones.

Improved Solos, very small, NOT OVER EAR.

These headphones are to Solos, as Pros are to Studios. It's like they took
Solos and remade them with the Pro model build. The feel solid, sound great for almost any music types, and if you're like me, the bass is GREAT, and heavy without drowning out any of the other sounds. (WITHOUT the bass Booster EQ on any ITouch/Iphone cause i have a nano)
PROS
*Don't Distort like Studios
*Less sound leaking
*Lightweight, small, portable.
*Great bass, without and sound modifying things.
*Doesn't drown out sound with Bass
*Great Highs and Mids
*Good harder plastic build than the Studios/Solos
CONS
*NOT OVER EAR AS THIS SITE SAYS, THEY ARE ON-EAR HEADPHONES, so they aren't as comfy as their over ear counterparts.
*Tight fit, kind of uncomfortable
*Weird fitting to your head, as there is no way to really lock the headphones in place where you like them
*Exposed Cord looks cool, but seems risky. (could get snagged, torn, etc.)
*Don't flex much, seem like they would break or crack if pushed to far, which is not very far at all when it becomes difficult to bend
*The swivels (to me) weren't very useful, and uncomfortable when one headphone was turned
That is a basic review of the headphones, and a pros and cons list. Not bad for the price on this site, but obviously as i stated they are not very comfortable, in my opinion. BUT these headphones don't distort at high volumes, sound clear and great, in every way.
ALSO. Don't be fooled by the picture on this site, it makes the ear cups look much bigger than they are, they are NOT even close to Studio size, they're Solo sized headphones, almost the exact same size.
Again also, i think everyone here should check out V-Moda, and look at the Over Ear Crossfade LP2s, only $199, and they sound great, and are nearly indestructible. Thanks

So I had monster turbine pro's in ear and decided i wanted an over the ear kind of style. These are pretty good, I'm no audiophile, however the bass is excellent as well as highs and lows. Nothing is muddled out at all. Sound quality I would say is nothing to complain about. The only thing I will say is that they squeeze your head quite a lot which may be good for noise cancelling however it does get uncomfortable if you are like me and listen to music for awhile. I bought these with the geeksquad warranty as well so i think it was an okay purchase, but definitely not the cheapest, however I think anyone buying Beats brand is not looking for the cheapest headphones anyways lol.

I recently had the HD Solos from beats by Dre but they were stolen. This time around I took a gamble and put an extra $50 in for the beat Mixr's and I am 100% satisfied! Bass is not as heavy as the Solos, but it hits hard with better vocals. You will be extremely satisfied with this product. The headphones were a little tight at first but I stretched them over the box they came in for about a week and that helped. The product is very sturdy, the headphone wire is not the flat piece but the round wire as with the HD Solos. The icontrol talk is made better on these as well and the hard case is a great addition.
Great product, great sound,

I was spoiled early on by an Ex GF with the Studios... As a big time music lover, the Beats experience was unmatched, and I fell in love. After cracking the headband on the Studios at the gym, I tried the Tours and didn't really like them. A week later I exchanged them for the PowerBeats.... Fast foward to a week ago, After saving up and sellin my Studios, I got the Mixrs...
WOW!!! These sound BETTER than my Studios, and are way more durable. The build quality is amazing. Love the metal. They turn heads, for sure. People in every class today were asking what kind of Beats they were!
Only issue is that they are a little too snugg out-of-box.... however, stretching them out by using the box, is the solution....
Wouldn't trade them in for ANYTHING!
