    Great Studio Sound

I use these as commuter headset since my commute is the time I spend listening to music . I have been through more than a few high end headsets and trying out these in Bestbuy along side of Beats Lower and high end models , I feel these sounded better than all . Listening to todays pop / hip hop and delivers great bass . The Iphone integration where you can keep your phone in your pocket and change stations from the high tech monster cord which takes a little getting used to but when you figure it out its such a convenience changing songs , fast forwarding and hands free phone calls . At first i gave myself a budget since I use it on the train and was worried about spending that much but for 50 dollars more than what I intended to spend was worth every penny . This is a quality Item , from the Instructions , The box , the detachable Monster cord , they understand exactly what they are bringing to the table , I applaud them for paying attention to detail . Excellent product all around . I am more than happy with this purchase .

Good build quality in comparison to the Solo's and Studio's. The size is perfect sitting in between the Solo's and Pro's. I prefer noise isolation vs. noise cancellation so these are perfect in that respect also. If you hate batteries for headphones as I do then you won't mind these. Also light weight and compact (when folded). Not a fan of the Beats brand (over hyped and over priced) but I really liked the look of these and would also consider purchasing them in white. For now i'm quite satisfied with the black.

Awesome Beats compared to Studios & Pros

I am a beats headphones Studio & Pro owner. I decided to try the Mixr because of the design, durablity and my traveling schedule. I mentioned my schedule because, don't get me wrong the studios & Pros sound great but after a year or two they start to fall apart from all the travel. I now leave my studio headphones and pro in the music studio for music making and when i just wanna listen to everyday music i will use my Mixr. Trust me you do NOT lose any sound with the Mixr. They sound GREAT!!!! Worth every penny. If your just buying headphones for everyday use, Dj, Music producing, these headphone are the way to go.

I was so excited when I first got these! The sound is great. I listen to a wide variety of music (Dubstep, Hip-Hop, Rock, & all kinds of "Mexican" music). The bass is right on, I think these beats have the best variety of bass out of all the beats, not to overpowering like the studios but defenitely have a strong bass. The only down side is that due to the fact that these are on the ear headphones they are not the most comfortable. I can listen to them for hours but I know some people who can't just because of the comfort. Overall great product, worth the $250.

The beats mixr headphones are a great product if your looking to buy your 1st pair of beats headphones...they look really cool when they are on and the sound is of good quality...price wise they are a bit pricey but honestly with beats as the name, you are paying for quality,as well as the name, if not I would have bought Bose which were half the price, but the cool factor had an affect as to why I bought beats over any other brand....the only negative is that after a 1/2 hour or so of usage I experienced hurting of the ears to the point where I had to take them off, it could be that my ears are not used to wearing headphones of this size !!!

Perfect upgrade from beats solo hd

Overall i would give these beats a 8.5-9 out of 10. The only downside to my enjoyment is the price and comfort of these beats. After maybe 45 minutes to an hour my ears startedto get aggrivated as they do while using the solo hd. The headphones are good and many people say they are on ear headphones but i call them over ear, the only part of my ear barely outside the ear cup is my ear lobe( still comfortable). Overall monster has made a very god product with a diffrent sound feel from all the other beats products. Best beats by dre headphones.

These headphones will be one of the best sounding in the Beats line second only to the flagship Pro's. The sound is great and has lots of tight bass. The only complaint for the start is the comfort level. They fit very tight on the head and become very uncomfortable after only a short use. I went to the Bose AE2 and comfort is 100X better but I miss the bass. Read my review on the AE2 and red Studios.

I bought these today. I have been waiting for a few months for their release. They sound great, the bass is great not over bearing. So you do get to hear the highs and mids. They are a bit snug and will bug you a bit after about an hour straight. Other than they are great. Fee Very sturdy not cheap. Price is not bad.

I recently used the beats solo hd headphones ... Then I wanted to get the pros cause they swivel and they're basically the most expensive and most respected .. But however .. I've tested the pros against the solos and mixr an I honestly think that the mixr wins it ... They are extremely stylish and they sound phenomenal!!! .. Pros sound great but somehow don't carry much bass compared to these ... But the only thing about these mixrs .. Is that it is a bit tight in compared to all .. It's not a problem really cause it usually loosens afterward .. And also the swivel on both pros and mixrs don't really help while in a live performance they are kind of uncomfortable the pros is impossible to use on stage ... The mixrs are alot easier to use on stage because the swivels make alot more sense but they still aren't well thought out

Are these really targeted at DJ's?

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First off, I know these Beats are supposedly targeted at DJ's and I'm not so sure it's not just a marketing gimmick. The first pair of Beats of any kind I ever saw were in an Apple Store and I believe this whole line is ultimately targeted at iPhone users. I did not select these headphones based on the idea that they were meant for DJ's, but because they had a short cord with a mic with a button that worked perfectly with my iPhone. Unlike the recharging BlueTooth headphones, which I also considered, which have a mic built into one of the earpieces, this set of headphones do not need to be recharged and the mic is placed on the cord so the person you're calling can actually hear you. The call quality is just as good as on the buds that come with the iPhone. That said, the MIXR's sound really good and the build quality is leagues ahead of the Beats Solo's. Are they the best headphones I've ever used? No... But they are the best headphones I've ever used that work well with my iPhone and that says a lot. They are perfect for my morning bus commute. No ten foot cord that I have on my Sennheisers that make them inconvenient to use out of the house. Plus the cord plugs directly into the headphone, which means an easy fix if a short develops in the cord, which is a common problem over time as most of us have experienced. I would highly recommend these headphones to an iPhone user, but if you want better quality and don't care about commuting or iPhone use, then there are better headphones at this price point. The MIXR's are slightly bass heavy and can make some recordings sound a bit muddy, but they still sound really great on most tracks! I like that they can isolate your music so that others cannot hear what you hear, but at the same time, they don't isolate you so completely from the outside world that you can't hear a car horn blowing or that train barreling down on you! I love these for my iPhone!

I exchanged my Studios because of the terrible sound leakage and lack of comfort and got these MIxrs. The construction of the Mixrs are impressive and way better than the plastic of the Studios. I also think the sound is more balanced with awesome Bass but not overpowering like the Studios. The Size of he Mixrs are perfect and not bulky. My only complaint is the comfort. Like everyone states they are really tight when you put them on. When I am not wearing them I put them on the box to try and stretch them out a bit. I am hoping that they will break in over time, and if so they will be the best pair of headphone I have had. Better than the Studios and better than my Bose QC3

    Great Headphones, Must Buy

I knew these headphones have not hit the market yet, but when I was at a best buy little distance from my home I noticed 1 pair sitting on the shelf and pick it up right away. These headphones are great for what I use them for. My uses are mainly for music and or media on my laptop. I like the fact that It has the spinning ear cups as the pros since it comes handy at school. The sound to me sounds great, mainly classical music as well as current pop. The one thing that I thought would be different is the size of the ear cups. Based on the photos i thought they would be a bit larger but they are just a tad larger than the solo's. The durability is great, and seems like it will last with the spinning ear cups. The case that it comes with is also nice and strong, its a firm case but nice and small like the cases for the solo's. I'm still surprised I found them at the store, and I thought the UK only had them currently available.

    Awesome for purpose created!

I believe no one set of cans can do it all well. It takes several if you really want to hear your music to suit your mood. For starters, I own several pairs of quality built headphones. I own a set of ibeats and love them. Straight up love them. They are great for ALL genres. I purchased a pair of studios last year and returned them for two reasons. One being uncomfortable after long periods, and the other reason is a lesson learned. I expected them to work well for all genres including acoustic music, alt rock, and jazz. They were awful for that, but dubstep, rap, and r&b really kicked. Since then, I bought some QC15's. This is not a review of those so I will keep it short. Great for softer music (check that need off). I also on some SOL REPUBLIC tracks HD. Maroon/Silver out of the box. Awesome for most all genres. They hit really well. Great for rock, alt rock, country, jazz etc... Not so hot for softer stuff with subtle string nuances or piano based but awesome alive and fun sound. Now these Mixr's were purchased for a gap I had. I needed some retail therapy, wanted white headphones (nice ones because im an audisnob. Not an audiophile to the true extent because I'm not that far gone), and I yearned for more beats. They are perfection for rap, dubstep, electronic, etc... I bought them with the expectation of just that and I could not be happier. They are compact, well built, thump well, come with a nice case, two detachable cables that wind up well, don't tangle and have control talk (really important for me). These are just awesome. Don't buy these if you expect them to do it all because they will not by any stretch of the means. Jay Z yes. Foo Fighters no. Skrillex yes. Ben Folds no. Get the point? With that said, awesome for intended purpose.

I caught these on sale at Best Buy and could not resist. The sound with the in-store demo was great, but I know that is with perfect sound tweeking. When I got them home and connected them to a variety of devices I found the sound to be just as exceptional. These are not your $99 headphones. The quality here is dazzling. Not only do they sound and look great, but also, they are rugged, durable, and top quality. I also have the Pro, and must confess that the sound quality with these is quite comparable. I have found that even the beats with lower bit rates come through with sparkling clarity. I would recommend recording your mp3s at a minimum of 192 or even 320 to get the full quality. I will warn you that once you use these, the inferior headphones and earphones will no longer satisfy. Amazing what it does to your music.

When comparing these headphones to the other Beats line up they in my opionion they are the best. The crisp sound clarity and structure surpass the rest. They do feel a little tight intially and are not as padded compaired to the rest but give it sometime and it will impress you. Comparing it to other headphone companies these sound great. Regardless of how high the volume goes it will not distort. The design is both trendy and funtunial which is a plus. I would recommend these headphones to anyone and suggest you go to best buy to test it out for yourself.

You want regret your purchase on these headphones not big like the studios which break easily, these are just perfect. They have alot of reviews on youtube if you dont belive me i have the white version of these. I use them everyday and hear things that i havent heard before in music.

I started with the world of beats buying the earphones 2 years ago. I used them in work every day until finally the cords broke and i had to move on to a new model. I bought the mixers and i was just amazed at the incredible sound quality. I do think they are high priced, but they last a long time. They come with nice packaging and 2 cables. I have used the microphone cables while on a cell phone its great as well. For a city person and working these are great to listen to your favorite music and cancel out sounds. Additionally, sound is incredible. I have been tried to be convinced for bose earphones constantly. Even the sales rep tried to sell me the bose. but i would definately no give up bose for the beats. But i agree with others. they are a little tight fit at the beginning. but for a girl with a smaller head the adjustable head set quality of the mixr is great.

These headphones will sound great when moving from cheap earbuds, but there are lots of much better sounding headphones available in the same price range. Might I suggest the Sennheiser HD 380 Pro? They are quite stylish though, and beats has a pretty good name thanks to all of the professional athlete endorsements, so I could understand buying them for style. They're not poorly built, and the come with a good carrying case, but I would still reccomend a pair of headphones with studio sound over these, especially if they're in the same price range.
