This is my first pair of beats, I also own the SOL republics V10. With the Beats you get great bass and the sound quality is good. My SOL are are about a 9 but the beats are a 10. Good purchase if your looking for your first entry into the beats family.

I've had many headphones over the years, I can truly say that these are the best headphones I've ever owned. The sound quality is amazing. And the quality of the Dr. Dre Solo 2 is great. There's only one thing I can say that detracts from this and that's the size of the headphone that fits the ear. They're too small. However, I don't consider this a detraction from the headphones itself. In the past whenever I've worn headphones I've always worn them for an hour or less. Most often much less than an hour. However, due to my current work environment I'm having to wear these headphones for much longer than an hour. Now I've discovered that the earpiece must totally cover the ear. These don't, at least not on my head. That hurts, after prolonged use. I wish I knew this before, but I've never had to wear headphones for so longer before. Now I know and so do you.

I love my beats. Had to replace my first pair due to the foam coming off tho. I purchased the geek squad protection when I purchased my first pair, less than a year ago ..in 6 months the earpiece started to break away, when I got the replacement I was informed that my geek squad plan no longer covered beats. They replaced them and said that all replacements would be handled thru beats directly now. Hopefully it's as seamless as it was thru best buy should I ever need to replace them again
