It will charge the phone after you go into the phone and change the settings to "USB for charging only". Same for uploading data, must be changed to "USB for transferring files". Not sure if this is a phone problem or a cable problem. Regardless, after changing the settings, it will charge the phone but at a very, very slow rate.

You would think the Apple TV would come with such a much needed important cord to do system updates. Otherwise it wouldn't work. Although I'm upset I had to spend an extra $30 or so (when it should have came with the Apple TV) the cord did its job and I was able to get my Apple TV up and running.

Decent USB Cable
