It's always a tough choice deciding on sticking with original manufactured parts or going aftermarket because many companies tend to make better products for their own devices. After using the Belkin Duratek Plus Lightning Cable, I'm actually more comfortable with trying aftermarket products after going through so many OEM lightning cables after they fray and come apart or just stop working for one reason or another. This Belkin Duratek cable is made with much more durable Aramid fiber and feels like it should last much longer. The braided material used on the Belkin Duratek cable is flexible and protects the cables much more than rubber or plastic. Over the years I've noticed it's the ends of the cables that mainly have issues with eventually coming apart or the connectors themselves get corroded. Belkin re-engineered these cables to prevent strain relief on the ends and used laser-welded connectors to resist breakage. They also included a leather strap for the cable which was a pleasant surprise.They back their claims with a five year limited warranty which is great for piece of mind as I'm usually shopping for a new cable after about a year of regular use. I recommend this for anyone in the market for a better cable, perhaps one of the best on the market, for years of use for your Apple products and even though the price may be a little more expensive up front, it should pay you back in the long run since you won't be out shopping cables a year from now... unless, of course, you let a friend borrow it and they don't give it back.

This cable looks and works well. The connectors seem to be of good quality, although the lightning end will not fit in some cases. I do not use one of those cases, so it does not affect me. The cable itself appears to be quality and feels like it will last much longer than your typical cable. The leather strap attached makes for easy storage when you want to travel or just keep your desk clean.

Sometimes it seems electronic accessory manufacturers try way too hard to come up with a genuine improvement to an existing item, especially when there are device standards that a normal person is likely never to exceed. They usually only succeed in producing a new gimmick. This is precisely what I thought before picking up this cable. I was wrong. I’ve accumulated a LOT of Apple-approved Lightning cables, and only a few have ever failed. I watch a lot of people abuse electronic items, cables being a severely neglected one. I watch folks pull, twist, kink, and chew on (!) these things. They’re far from invincible, and when an owner is suddenly aware that an abused cable has failed, it’s always “that cheap cable’s fault.” It’s really too bad that USB cables are not thought of the way audiophiles think of high-end audio cables. The moment I took the DuraTek cable out of the box, I actually laughed and commented that “they really mean business with this one!” This covering is tough and kink-resistant. The nicest feature by far is the lack of a strain relief. Nope, none. But that’s because the connector housing is much longer than normal, and tapers down so you can actually grab it and pull, as we are all told to do with every cable. The leather strap keeps it neat when not in use, and just punctuates how this is not the cheap cable they give you for free just so you have one.

This product did not work unless you wiggled it and got it in just the right place. If anyone breathed too heavily around it, it would lose connection. It may have been defective but Best Buy would not take it back because it was outside the return period. Unfortunately, I did not have time to return it during the return period.

Anyone who has an Apple device knows that their cables leave a lot to be desired. Right to the point, I would take this cable over an Apple cable any day. You can see the quality in every way. Apple cables are expensive and literally every one that I have will start to separate near the connector at some point. Short of Apple entering the world of USB-C, your options are cheap knock off cables or overpriced certified cables. Cheap cables are plentiful, but don't always work and you risk damaging your device. Most certified cables are overpriced and don’t hold up well either. This Belkin cable shows it quality in every way. I’ve had other braided cables but they felt cheap. This one feels like the braiding is protecting the inside and not just for shows. The connector at the end has the braiding going inside it, so it does not feel like over time that it will start to separate and show the wires like the Apple cables do. When you connect the cable, you get the same click as an Apple cable that let’s you know that it’s connected well. The leather strap is a nice touch to keeping it wound up nicely. For a few dollars more than an Apple cable, get this Belkin cable.

In the box is a 4’ cord with a leather strap. The photo may have a white cord but I have the black cord. On the box, it states that there is a 5 year warranty, which is amazing and surprising. An Apple device cord last 3-6 months in my household so having a 5 year warranty is a definite plus for me. I love the design and durability. This cord does feel more heavier than a normal cord but for me that is a good thing because I will know that I have it with me. There is a leather strap to help with storage and I love it. The design allows you to move it and place around the whole cord. I also love the braided design. I really like how you can twist it and manages to go back to it normal. Another thing that I have also noticed is a faster charge with this cord as well, which is another great plus. All in all this is definitely worth the purchase and will be a great stocking stuffer for all of my iPhone user family members. I will definitely purchase more and recommend to friends and family.

I have been using iPhones forever. I definitely prefer the lightning charging cable over the old 32 pin ones. BUT one major issue with the original cables is they tend to fray overtime. This cable is sturdy and appears to be capable of outlasting my phone. I finally have a cable that I feel will hold up to just normal wear and tear and daily plugging and unplugging. I like that it has a strap to keep it coiled up when not in use. If you are like me you have CABLES GALORE for charging all your devices. I like to put them away when not in use. The strap is a huge bonus in keeping my cables organized and detangled.

Cable is heavy duty and supports my fast charger for my iPhone and iPad. Will be my vehicle charge cable as is perfect length. Completely worth buying.

This is good quality cable. It is very well constructed. With cheaper lightning cables, I have had issues with fraying where the cable enters the end connectors. The connectors on this cable are very robust and I do not anticipate having this problem. I do not have not any connection issues and the cable seems to charge my iPhones and iPad very quickly. The Belkin Duratek Plus Lightning Cable is a high quality cable, and I highly recommend it.

I have used a lot of cables over the years and most of them are thin, have poor quality connectors or are just so cheaply made they break after a few uses. I also used some premium cables that lasted longer but eventually failed. However, this cable is by far the most durable cable I ever used. It is a thick braided cable with premium ends that lock into place securely. If you need a cable that is going to last, this is the one to buy.

I have bought a few iPhones during its release and of course the stock lightning cable has shown its wear and tear over time. As any of you would know that belkin makes compatible apple accessories and surely this lightning cable version didn't disappoint. It is ticker, and tougher than the regular cable. Only time will tell how durable this will be, Otherwise it feels like a solid buy or upgrade. One downside is it heavier.

This cord is just what you'd expect from the folks at Belkin. I go through a lot of lightening cords, between the house, farm, office and truck. I had had several brands, some good and some bad. This cord has a good heft to it, yet remains flexible. I have yet to have an 'incomplete' connect to my iphone like you get with cheap cords. The bonus is the little leather wrap that keeps it coiled when not in use. Will buy again.

It's a great cable that works as advertised. You can definitely tell that it's a durable and will last longer than your typical rubber coated cable. It works well for charging as well as data connections to a computer.

This is definitely a premium cable. It's well designed and feels very durable. I have not had it for long so I cant say how it will last over time but it is definitely a step up from what Apple provides.

This is the best charging cord I’ve ever owned and I have purchased many. They always break and fray at the end but this cord is very heavy duty, I’m definitely interested to see how long it lasts.

The cable charges my iPad, normally i would stop a review there because what else would it or should it do? If it did not, it would be a failed product. However, it includes a solid attached velcro-like strap which looks like leather/pleather (not sure?) which potentially is "multi-purpose" for storage or perhaps wrapping up excess cable if your distance from charger is not that far.

This charger functioned as designed. It has a slight speckle design and a textured layer on the outer. The texture is mostly tactile and does not get caught on anything. Otherwise typical cable that worked on all my charger warts from 1.1 to 2.8A. NOTE: only the cable was included in the package
