I bought this to hook up my new laptop that doesn't have a VGA output to an older projector. The first projector that I hooked it up to did not recognize the computer, however it worked just fine on the 2nd projector. So depending on how on the projector, it may or may not work for you

This is the answer to be able to use an older 2nd screen with a vga connection with a new computer without vga port.

Easy enough to plug 'n play - and definitely satisfies as to picture sent from HDMI device through to VGA target device on the other end. No deterioration in size or frame rate noticed as I use the VGA output to a stage monitor that has graphics my control crew need to keep an eye on at all times during the show.

Works well audio signal is a little weakened, but useful

I used this to hook up the ps3 hdmi port to a viewsonic projector that was analog VGA port and it worked. You definitely need to switch the ps3 to stereo on the audio settings or else you're going to get a lot of static.
