Elegant solution for charging on the go

This Belkin power bank is a great solution for charging all of your Apple devices (and more) on the go. As with other Belkin products I own, this one is high-quality and sturdy. The magnetic dock for the Watch works flawlessly and the USB port allows charging of everything else. Being able to charge my phone and watch with the same battery pack without having to carry around dongles, stands or other accessories is a real help. The 6700 mAh capacity is sufficient to charge the phone and watch several times before having to refuel the pack which is another plus for extended trips away from reliable power sources or when you need to charge other accessories as well (headphones, tablets, etc.). The pack is a bit bigger than I expected but it's manageable and not a huge deal considering the upsides. The bulk is the only reason I didn't rate it a 5 (it's really a 4.5). A simple press of a button reveals a series of 4 LED's showing the charge state of the pack which makes it easy to know when you're getting low and need to recharge the pack which adds to the convenience and usability of this unit. While I've got numerous other portable battery packs, this Belkin has quickly become my go-to favorite.

this will be a simple review, because this is a simple product, but it works exactly how you would expect.
If you want to charge your watch and your phone at the same time, this is the product for you. Even if you just want to make sure you can top off your phone, this product is for you.
This battery is well built, has as very quality feel to it. It has one USB port for your phone charger, and a built in watch charging puck. It also has 4 LED lights to show you the charge of the battery itself. It has an "on" button, but its not an off button. This was slightly confusing for me in the beginning....you plug in your devices, and press the "on" button, but if you press it again it doesn't turn off the battery. The battery is smart enough to know when you unplug your device and it turns itself off. I actually love this, as knowing me I would forget to turn it off!
So far I've charged my watch twice and my phone once....and the battery level is only down 1 light.

My constant lament while traveling was just how many dongles, cords, etc... I needed to keep my relatively few devices charged. Worse: if I worked out for a good clip or tracked my heartrate for a bit, my watch would die before I had a chance to close all 3 rings at the end of the day!
Enter Belkin's power pack. I've used and have liked their other packs, but one that eliminates the need to have YET ANOTHER CORD? Awesome.
Charged + recharged quickly. MicroUSB makes interchanging cords an easy thing if you lose the original. Longevity/rating of the battery is a definite plus. Connectors are good and solid. Doesn't add too much weight to my minimalist pack, especially considering it removes both the USB apple dongle and the old powerpack I was using for just my phone recharges and the container I used to keep everything organized.
This has easily earned a spot as my go-to charger when working from anywhere that available plugs are rare.

I received the Belkin Apple Watch Portable Power Pack at no cost in exchange for a timely and honest review.
I have used it for one day so far. The device is well made, nice looking and has a quality feel. It is a convenient size and weight. All of these battery packs have some heft to them since batteries are heavy by nature and this one matches other similar modern battery products like this.
The battery pack comes with a USB cord for charging the device device, but requires the user to provide a power source. There is only one USB port on the battery pack, so you can charge a Watch and USB device, but not two USB devices at the same time. The included small graphic instruction card that has no words on it. I found this to be a bit lacking in terms of what owners might want to know about the unit. I'd recommend another pass at the instructions by Belkin.
I used a 12 watt iPad charger as my power source, the battery pack appears to take around 6 hours for a complete charge using this power source. The iPad charger is a pretty good USB power source, so I suspect the time was largely dictated by the electronics in the battery pack. The battery pack displays the charge level as it charges, so I could monitor the progress of the charge.
I took a fully charged unit with me on day trip and used it to top off my Apple Watch, iPhone 6s and iPad Air 2 late in the day. My watch was about 78% full and topped off in less than an hour. I didn't time any of these exactly. My iPhone was perhaps around 70% and topped off in perhaps an hour. I then tried my iPad which was around 50% charged and after a few hours, I noticed the iPad was no longer charging, indicating I had exhausted the battery pack charge, It did provide about 45% charge before running out of juice and an iPad is a fairly power hungry device.
So I'd say this pack is very good for topping off my watch and iPhone as intended and can even partially boost my iPad in a pinch even though it wasn't designed specifically for that.
I like having the Watch charger built-in. That means I have one less cable to carry and fuss with on a day trip.
I don't know if there is a way to check the remaining battery level in the battery pack once I've started using it. The unit has no light to indicate it is charging anything, I had to determine that from the device being charged, The charge lights do illuminate briefly when I turn on the battery pack, but they go out soon. I'll have to double check to see if that brief display indicates the level of charge remaining in the battery pack. It makes sense, but I didn't notice and since the instructions are so brief, it was not obvious from those.
Overall, I'd recommend this battery pack for Apple Watch owners, but likely not for non-Apple Watch owners since there is only one USB port. I think this would be good for me on long trips. I have only had to place my Apple Watch in low power mode once or twice in the 18 months I've been wearing it, but this would have kept me from having to do that. I could have easily recharged it while traveling.
My recommend comes with the caveat that I don't know the list price Belkin will charge for the product. I assume it will be competitively priced with other batteries like this and it does a nice job with the Apple Watch and iPhone.

I have owned a few of these portable battery packs over the ast few years. The fact that this one also has a handy dock for charging the Apple Watch makes it different. As for the unit itself, it is rather compact considering the 6700mAh capacity. It charges up fast (considering the amount of juice you are filling it with). I have used it to charge both a watch and an iPhone 6s at the same time and it did so very quickly. I would say that with a full charge you should be able to charge a phone at least three times and the watch once or twice on that same charge. Also, even though the use with the watch is a big selling point that kind of makes you think it is just for Apple products, it has USB and Micro USB so you can really use it with any brand of device. One of the better battery packs I have used!

First at all, I though the charger would be heavy and big, but turns out that it's very handy and portable, surprisingly small for a 6700 mAh. It is not as heavy as I thought it would be which makes it easy for travel. It's very fast when charging both the watch and phone at the same time.
The looks is modern and stylish, the aluminum exterior design matches very well with my phone and my apple watch. It heats up a little bit when charging but that is to be expected. I am still amazed about the magnetic charger concept, I simply love it!
So far I have charged both items 3 times and the unit still has power remaining.
It is a clever idea for a unit that can recharge 2 different devices technologies at the same time.

Charging solution for Apple-wearers

There are many portable chargers on the market that are all designed to recharge our portable devices when we are away from a wall outlet, but this is the only solution that also adds the ability to wirelessly charge the Apple Watch. Although I rarely wear my Apple Watch below 40-50% per day, having the peace-of-mind of knowing that this power pack could recharge it is a nice feeling. The Watch clings to the charging pad nicely and begins charging almost immediately. The pack has a button that displays (using 4 inline LEDS) the charge status of the power pack, so you always know how much power the unit has left. What's especially nice is that you can recharge the Apple Watch and another USB connected device simultaneously. With its 6700mAH of capacity, that equals up to three recharges on an iPhone or up to eight on the Watch. The chip inside the unit automatically detects when a device is connected and initiates or suspends charging without having to push a button or turn the unit off.
If I had one gripe about this unit, given it's primary design and market being for Apple Watch and iPhone users, is that the power pack charges via micro USB and not via Apple's Lightning port. The utilization of a Lightning port would have been more convenient in my eyes as it would have meant that the user would be ensured that he/she would have the correct cable to plug into their iPhone (5 or later device). Even still, micro-USB is extremely prominent in the market and found on many devices (hint, hint Apple; on second thought, don't change your connection again...), therefore, I see no reason to deduct any points for such a small gripe.

The silver and black match very well with my devices. when charging both devices at the same time, it gets at little hot but that is to be expected. it is mobile so I take it everywhere with me, just in case me or anyone else needs it. according to the specs it should charge the apple watch 8 times faster but I think its faster then that.

this battery/charger is a great way to charge your iphone or apple watch on the go. however, you are certainly paying a premium for the convenience of the additional watch charging module when compared to other batteries without it.
pros:
-well made, attractive design
-simultaneous charging (both phone and watch at the same time). can also charge devices while the battery is charging.
-4 LED lights show amount of power remaining
-fast charging (2.4A) means shorter charge time
cons:
-price point - a bit on the pricey side, especially when compared to other similar capacity batteries w/o the watch module. essentially you're paying more for the convenience of not having to carry the watch charging cable. some sort of protective carrying case would've been nice at this price point.
on the fence:
-charge capacity - 6700mAh will likely be fine for most people's needs, certainly on a daily basis, but may prove inadequate for others. charges your watch a total of 8 times *or* your phone 3 times (or some combination of both).
final thoughts:
at $100, it's a bit overpriced in my opinion, unless the convenience of not needing the watch charging cable is worth it to you. that being said, if you can find it on a decent sale, i would certainly recommend it.

A great accessory for Apple Watch

I love this product as a useful accessory for my Apple Watch and all of my cell phone! This is a functional secondary charger for my Apple Watch ( it works with all generations of the Apple Watch). It is small enough to carry in a backpack or purse without taking up a lot of space. Any USB device can be charged by it. It is recharged with a micro USB cord which was included in the package with the device.
Every product has flaws the main one I encountered with this was sometimes the band on the Apple Watch makes it difficult to place Watch on the magnetic connector when the charger is lying flat on a table. Because it is long and rectanglular I often hang my watch on the charger near the end of the table and it resolves that issue.
At the end of the day I highly recommend this product. It is an excellent two-for-one charger for both your Apple Watch and your mobile phone.

As a great alternative to taking your magnetic charging cord for your Apple Watch, which you risk losing or perhaps damaging, the the Valet Charger by Belkin really fits the bill. Charging up the Valet is easy enough with a micro USB cord, after taking out of the box mine was fully charged in a couple of hours, then it's ready to go.
The magnetic charging area for your Apple Watch works seamlessly with the watch and charges as you would expect and if you just use it to charge your watch the Valet has more than enough juice to keep your watch charged for about 8 days which is perfect for a weeks vacation or business trips. The 6700 mAh battery can also charge your iPhone up to 3x with the included USB port on the side, I'm sure with a mix of perhaps a couple of iPhone charges and a couple of Apple Watch charges this would last for a 3 day business trip without having to recharge.
All in all a convenient way to maintain power in the Apple ecosystem.

Came in handy on holiday vacation

This battery pack made my holiday vacation a lot more convenient. The charger that came with my Apple Watch is inside a "dock" and attached to my night stand so it's a little bit of a hassle to remove. Instead, I just brought this battery pack with. For charging your Apple Watch exclusively, it's really great as I was able to get a few night's charges without the battery indicator even moving. If you want to fully charge your phone as well, you'll need to recharge the pack during the day as a leaving my phone plugged in at night did drain most of the battery (this isn't really a normal use case, but I wanted to test it out). The size of the pack makes it very easy to carry around with you as well.
Overall, I would recommend this battery pack to carry around with you when you need some extra power for your phone and you'll be away from your Apple Watch charger for longer than usual. Vacations are ideal.

As a frequent traveler (and lover of Apple tech) the Belkin Apple Watch Portable Power Pack is an awesome space saver. I've always travelled with a battery pack for my phone, and this does a great job at reducing the cables I need to carry.
At 6700mAh, it's got enough juice to keep me out of phone trouble AND charge my watch on those red-eyes. The form factor is great and easily fits inside of a briefcase pocket.
I was a little surprised to find there was no USB charging adaptor in the packaging. Like most people, I have a few dozen of these around the house, so it's not a big deal.
Not super clear in the instructions is the need to press the power meter to begin charging your devices. Again, not a big deal. (And by instructions I mean 'little pictures that may be obvious to some folks, but weren't to me. )
All in all a great product. I look forward to using this on the road.
