I fried chicken in it the first time I used it. I had to increase the heat 2 times to really get it going. In other words when you buy cheap, you get cheap. I'm not the type to complain a lot. I've learned to use it at its capabilities! If I want it at 350° I put it on 400° or 450° and use a temperature gauge. I like the size of it. Its small and perfect for my kitchen and size of meals I make. It only cost me $19.
