Somewhat disappointed

I bought this toaster to replace a 20+ year old toaster that was unpredictable. This one is no better. I started with a low setting, which toasted one side more that the other. I flipped the toast, and it overtoasted the previously poorly-toasted side. I have not found the setting that toasts predictably. The same setting gives different results on different days. I bought this toaster at a huge discount, and it is possibly worth that much-discounted price, but not its usual retail price.

The slots are a tiny bit narrower than my last one but so far nothing has gotten stuck. The darkness dial is taking some getting used to. Overall, a good toaster and it was a good price.

My toasters in the past have burned my bread too much but this one toasts them perfectly. I also haven't ran into any issues with it so far so I would definitely recommend.

For most people set between 3 and 4 will work great.
