    Indoor/ Outdoor 1080p Crispness

I've been wanting a projector for indoor/outdoor movie nights for some time now and after extensive research I settled on the BenQ 2050. A Game of Thrones finale and a few movie nights later and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Pros: -Fantastic image scaling: According to the specs it can support up a 180" screen. I've set it on my 110" screen with fantastic results and have no doubt it could retain it with the extra 70" -Brightness: 2200 lumens isn't the highest number at this price range, but I was pleasantly surprised when I set the projector up 2 hours before sundown that I could see the image clearly. -Geek Squad Protection: No seriously. If you purchase the protection plan it includes a 1 time free bulb replacement. New bulbs for this projector cost around the same as the plan PLUS the added benefit that Best Buy will repair or replace it should anything else happen to it. I've been moving this thing in and outdoors and the peace of mind should it start to rain or I mishandle it carrying it constantly back in forth has been a huge relief. Cons: -No horizontal keyframing: You'll have to line up the projector dead on with the screen for the best results which can be a bit of a hassle to fine tune by hand. -No Built in Bluetooth/WiFi: BenQ does sell compatible wireless kits, but out of the box this projector doesn't have any wireless capabilities. I don't mind running wires for my laptop or speakers since the devices all need to be powered anyways, but it'd be a nice touch. -Very slight rainbow: 1st thing to pay attention to with projectors is how noticeable any type of rainbow particle effect on the image (that isn't intended to be there) is. It's not non-existent like more expensive projectors can boast, but I only noticed it if I was looking for it. Once you're laid back enjoying the show I doubt you'll even see it. If you're looking to step up your projector game, but don't want anything too crazy, the BenQ has been a phenomenal 1080p projector thus far for the price range.

I did a lot of research. After looking at different features, I decided to get the Benq HT2050. I have it in my basement, mounted on the ceiling about 155 inches from my 120 inches electric screen and it fills it perfectly. It has a fair amount of zoom to adjust the distance but I did not need it. The built in speakers are awesome. I have it hooked to Sony STR-HD520 receiver and the sound is perfect coming out of the Yamaha and Polk Audio speakers (7.1). The only inconvenience is that I have to mute the native speakers or there is a noticeable echo. The 3D quality is very good and it paired with glasses effortlessly. There is no lag while playing the Xbox either.

Let me start off saying this projector is awesome. It's colors are vivid and bright. I originally purchased the optoma hd142x and was pleasantly surprised for it being my first projector ever, but after reading the reviews, I was quickly regretting my decision. Luckily bestbuy had a great program during the holidays to extend the return policy. The HT2050 is by far a better projector. Brighter colors, and feels like a better build all together. I would have liked to try the epson 2045 but it seems like everyone was getting a defective unit one issue or another. The bulb replacement will be factor. Benq $$ for bulbs. I found it will be cheaper to buy the 2 yr geek squad which includes a free bulb replacement and covers any defects. I use this as my main tv in the bedroom. Lots of Netflix and Hulu while connected to my AppleTV, I also use it for gaming. Haven't noticed a lag in gameplay on Battlefield 1 just wish Sony would have put a better wifi antenna in the original PS4 with 5ghz support, but that's for another review. As far as I'm concerned you can't beat this projector for under $1k market. The only gripe I had was there's a little lag when switching to another hdmi input or when connecting another in but what's a few seconds longer for getting a better picture.

A great projector for movies or gaming. There is almost no lag time for my FPS games on my ps4. The only downside to this projector is the lack of a vertical keystone adjustment which aides with fitting the picture on the screen. Other than that this projector is the best bang for buck on the market.

This is the best sub 1000.00 projector on the market!! Best Buy has this on sale for 639.00, the best price I have seen. You won't be disappointed if you use this in a low light theater room.

First.. Wow! Second.. Amazing! Benq hit the mark with this one. I did a ton of searching on forums and other product sites to find the best bang-for-your-buck projector. At first I had considered the 1075 and the 1085, but wanted something more up to date. Best Buy was sold out of the Benq 2050 so I had decided on the 3050, but checked a week later before I ordered the 3050, and the 2050 was back in stock. I am in no way disappointed with this projector. It is light, loud, bright, and crisp. I could not be happier with the picture. True colors and very, very crisp picture. My wife was skeptical at first, but after she saw it on and live, she was ecstatic. Well done Benq.

Just set my 2050 up this week. This replaced an Epson 3020 that I had for about 4 years. Actually, I had two Epsons. I had to get a replacement at about the 2 year mark due to issues with 3D content. Anyway, The Epson image was awesome (IMHO), however the 3D was awful. The ghosting/crosstalk was horrible. I eventually stopped watching 3D content altogether. So I thought I'd give DLP a try. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the 2050. I have a dedicated home theater with no ambient light so it's pretty bright (using cinema mode). I think the Epson was slightly better with color but I'm sure I just need to tweak a few settings. Luckily I don't see any rainbows. I was very worried about that prior to purchasing due to all the comments I've read about it. The game changer for me is the 3D. WOW! I love 3D again! Zero ghosting! Loving it so far.

I've had the projector mounted and running for about 2 weeks now. So far, I am very pleased with the picture quality, contrast and brightness. I am projecting onto a 92" screen mounted in my basement (darker environment). This is my first projector, setup itself was fairly easy (after mounting the screen and the projector to the ceiling according to the manufacturers specs). I read about possible 'rainbow' effects with DLP but I have not witnessed any whatsoever.

I did a lot of research on projectors in this price range. I found that this projector represented the best value, so I went for it. I am using this as a backyard projector, but have tested it out in the basement to check it out. It's awesome on a 120" screen! Like any projector in this price range, it works best with limited ambient light...but I don't plan on using it in the backyard at all before sundown.

Lets just say this, we had this proyectorbin iur old home and when we sold it it stayed with the house. Purchased a Sony $8k proyector for our new home and ended up returning it becuase the quality of the $8k did not even go close to how great this one is. So, forget about spending top dollars and buy this one you will. You wont be dissapointed. Great price great image quality.

I have been using this for a few weeks now and I really like it. From about 13' away 1080p looks perfect, and 3D is pretty nifty as well. Only negative thing so far is the HDMI slots are very loose connections. If you have any tension on the cable it will fall out just enough to not work. I had to tie it up.

Family and friends are completely blown away by how good this projector looks. It is being projected on a 120 inch screen...on ECO mode dark scenes are somewhat hard to see, however in bright/daylight scenes absolutely no problems colors are beautiful. overall i love this projector. one down side is the cost of a replacement lamp ($250) so you need to keep that in mind.
