Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the EX2780Q monitor's brightness, vibrant colors, and surprisingly good built-in speakers, with many also praising the convenient remote control. However, some users found the HDR performance underwhelming and the stand to be somewhat limited in adjustability. The monitor's build quality also received positive feedback. Overall, the positive aspects appear to outweigh the negative for most customers.

Needed a wide monitor b/c working from home all the time now. Didn't want no Samsung/dell, etc. You want a company that focuses on one particular segment in the tech industry. BenQ definitely delivered on this monitor. By just taking it out the box you can tell by the quality of the monitor that it was well built. Not bunch of plastic thrown together. As for performance its great - who cares for HDR, b/c if you're a true photographer this monitor would be an entry monitor for professional work. Colors are on point! Speakers are actually decent, don't think they'll blow you away but good enough to not have to buy extra set of speakers. Just buy the monitor trust me you will not be disappointed.

Nice 144hz IPS monitor, but HDR is terrible

This is a great monitor for 144hz non-HDR usage. Build quality seems solid, and has a USB-C port to work with a laptop (USB-C doesn't charge a device from what I can tell though). Works with G-Sync despite not being officially compatible. However the HDR implementation sucks. Lots of nitpicky little things, not to mention I couldnt even get HDR video playback working (confirmed Windows and the Monitor are in HDR mode and the content is also HDR... but still washed out colors). But the main issue is the "auto brightness" feature called BI+ (Brightness intelligence) constantly changes the brightness of the screen in not-very-subtle steps, and there is no apparent way to turn it off in HDR mode. Its optional in non-HDR, but forced on in HDR mode. I will probably end up returning this monitor for the LG 27GL850-B which is supposed to be much nicer. So having said all that, this monitor is way overpriced since the HDR is useless. If you want a non-HDR IPS fast monitor, there are other options, unless you can find this one for under $400

Great monitor. Works perfectly on my PS5 and Series X for more FPS. The built in speakers are actually good as well!
