Great dark fantasy anime

The Berserk trilogy is a condensed take on a season-long anime, which represents a single story arc in a long-running manga. It is very violent, very visceral, but the violence exists only insofar as to explore the depths of the characters. The series features horror elements, including violence against children and torture, that are not for the faint of heart. If you enjoy the movies, I would highly recommend watching the 1995 anime or reading the manga. There is also a new anime with one season out that picks up after the movies leave off.

If you've read the manga or watched the 90's anime, you will not be disappointed. I think the voiceovers are the same for this series as were from that one season. The visuals are like 100 times better, BizMedia did a great job with that. Its pretty much season 1 of the anime, but sped up and with a few added details that where left out from the 90's series all the way to the eclipse. If you like anime, this is a really good/dark/action packed anime that you'll enjoy. I got it on sale, so that was a plus.

To clear this up at the beginning: this is a three part movie that leads in to the series. It is based in medieval times, and incorporates the supernatural into a tale of a mercenary band that discovers an awesome warrior they want to add to their ranks. The character development is great, and the story is in no way predictable. One of my favorite recent animes. These movies deal with intense subject matter and violence. This is not an animated film for children. Treat it like Deadpool.

Despite 3D animation the story is great. This Blueray covers the golden age movie's 1-3, and sets the stage for the two seasons of the series that follow. Im not gonna cover the detail of the story because if you are researching this title then you already have an idea. Don't let the kids watch these animated movies however as they have adult themes, and are violent, each movie is engaging and sets up for the next one, so you'll want to continue the story. If you are an anime fan thats into knights, demons and fantasy, then Berserk is the way to go.

I love Berserk, but these movies have really poor animation quality. They tell the story of the Golden Age Arc pretty well, but they leave out a fair amount of stuff.

This some of the most amazing anime I've ever seen! The way the action scenes are put together it's like there are actual camera's following the action, capturing some if the most incredible angles. The main character is absolutely brutal with his sword. I got hooked on part 1 and just knew this was going to be a collector and bought the movie collection. This anime is raw so...viewer beware!

Wow, just wow. I loved this movies!! It was a great buy for the 3 movies in the one case. Having little knowledge of the Berserk serious befor watch this I am now a fan & want everything that has to do with this serious. It's intense battle sense & the turn of events in the 3rd movie made my jaw drop. & I have watch a lot stuff in my days, but this was something else. Again loved it.

I have not watched the original animation back in the 90s, but I have always been interested. Some online reviews said the golden arc movies are more or less the original anime give or take a few details. My tax return came in and I said, why not, I'll give it a chance and I enjoyed them fairly well. Now I shall start on the new animation on Crunchyroll

Was hesitant to watch these films because I love the television series so much, I did not think the films would be nearly as good since they cover the same material. Boy was I wrong. These films are awesome! Also, if you have a 5.1 surround system or better I was really impressed with the surround mix on all three of these films. Highly recommended!

Berserk as a manga has been going for decades now. It's brutal, gory and frequently twisted. The arc that these movies tell has been previously animated back in the 90s as a series and I honestly think both versions have their strengths. If you want to see the opening story arc of a long-running and graphically violent manga that may never end satisfactorily but is almost 30 years old now, this is a good enough way to do that.

Solid Trilogy

This is a solid trilogy for those who enjoy anime and swords/sorcery films. Since it is part of a long and still running manga, there is no real resolution to the trilogy, which hurts the films as stand alone titles. There is nothing that could be done about having a satisfying ending since the main conflict of this trilogy is still ongoing in the manga. Other than the lack of a true resolution, it was highly enjoyable.

I've only watched the first movie and I'm enjoying it so far. I remember watching some of the original anime years ago and playing the Dreamcast video game entry. So I naturally assumed this was a reboot of sorts for this era; like Sailor Moon Crystals or Dragon Ball Super. The animation is updated and just as bloody.

I loved the original 1997 anime, and the reimagining of it as a theatrical trilogy is brilliant. The lush animation takes some getting used to, with the CG effects proving a stark contrast to the original animation of the TV series, but it takes 25 episodes and makes them more concise with less filler.

You get 3 movies for the price of one! This is a great value for anime fans especially fans of Berserk. They will not make a reprint of these movies so expect this edition to go sky high for late collectors. They already bought out all the copies at my local stores and I would expect the same at others.

The three movies encompass the first major arc of the Berserk storyline, which is the same arc covered by the 1997 series. There is no major difference in plot content, however there are very graphic scenes in each of the movies including violence and nudity. Besides the mature content, it is a good looking anime and well worth your time if you like shows like Attack on Titan.

Wow! I held off on watching these films because I did not think they could do justice to the excellent Berserk Anime television series. Boy, was I wrong! These films are awesome! Also, all three have excellent 5.1 sound for those with a nice surround system. Very highly recommended!

I love Berserk and this is a great anime 3 part to watch before you watch the series. However be warned it stays true to the aggressive animation it it's known for; Blood, gore, violence, and sensual violence. If you already know that then it's an excellent watch.

I really enjoyed the first two movies, but the 3rd was kind of lame. It also seemed as though it ended early. Obviously, it's to be continued, but the 3rd movie's ending is abrupt. That said, buying all three for $15 is a no- brainer. As a side note, this isn't a series for kids. Just fyi, if you planned to purchase for your teenager.

I had never been exposed to Berserk other than having heard of it before. I was interested when I saw it in store, so I made the purchase. I thoroughly enjoyed these movies and find them a great way to get into a story that has been ongoing for over twenty years.

Dramatic and exhilarating quest. The animation is sometimes a little off but still has a beautiful style. The drama and intensity is all there and delivers a intriguing story. The packaging is great. It is a great priced set for all 3 films for the price of 1.
