I really have to highlight a number of individuals who helped me during my purchase experience. I initially came in just to address a problem with a hard-drive at GeekSquad. But, due to the seriousness of issue, I had to visit a few different departments to get everything I would need.
I want to first give a huge shoutout to Erika at the GeekSquad desk. She could not have been more lovely to deal with. I was facing some rather large expenses because my poor hard-drive had a critical malfunction and needed to be sent away. She took ample time explain the whole process and made sure I understood what my options would be. She was friendly, informative, and patient. With her help, I felt I was making the best decision to address my needs.
Brian is the next gentleman who helped me. I needed an external hard drive to transfer data from my damaged drive. I later found out he came over from a different department just to help me because he saw I was alone. There were different models available but her really helped me zone in a great product for the best price. I never felt like he was trying to upsell me and I felt great about the product he picked out for me - it was exactly what I needed.
Brian then pointed me to Cloudy to help me find a keyboard for a Samsung tablet. I was unfamiliar with these products since it was really for my dad. He really helped me find something that would hopefully suit my dad's preferences. He was clearly knowledgeable and reassured me that it was simple enough to buy products, try them out, and if they don't quite fit your needs, the return policy was generous enough to give me opportunities to find something else.
Next was Jey in the laptops section. I was facing the prospect of having to retire my 15yr old monster Alienware because it cooked 2 hard-drives. I hadn't purchased a computer in so long, I wasn't quite sure where to begin. I explained my situation and what kind of workload I typically do. Jey pointed me to 2 laptops he was confident would meet my needs and was within my budget. I was so thrilled by each computer and the price-points, I actually wound up purchasing both. Jey was spot on - they are exactly what I wanted.
Andrew was the closer for my experience. He handled my purchases for the day. This is where everything really came together. He offered some great advice as far as additional options for products. He showed me the current generation of Alienware laptops and I was suddenly on the edge of making a completely different purchase but he assured me there was no pressure. He told me the laptops I was buying were more than enough to handle my work and their formfactor was a bit more comfortable. He then explained BestBuy's My Total Membership and how I might benefit considering my situation.
After considering everything I had gone through; the repairs for my hard-drive, the money I might save on the backend, and the product protection for everything was buying, this was a really smart idea. My Total has saved me money and given me peace of mind. And one day, I will return to buy another Alienware.
Honorable mention to Liam. Although he didn't directly help me, I saw him deal with an unruly customer. Liam maintained composure and handled the situation with grace and professionalism.
Lastly, as I was leaving, I happened to meet Travis - the store manager. He was all smiles and offered a genuine sense that he cared about my experience at the store.
I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my experience at this location and with these people. I was facing some serious trouble and big expenses. But I got the most value for my money and the service felt sincerely personal. I'm a customer for life.

About a year ago I was getting ready to start school and needed a new laptop, I was unsure and uneducated on what would be the best fit for me. Thankfully, my husband took me down to best buy and I had a great experience. The staff was very well educated and did not try and force me into something that I did not need. I was only needing something that would get basic things done. Like logging into school power points to follow along in class, essays, the Web so I could do research and watch educational videos. I ended up purchasing the Samsung laptop which has done everything I've needed effortlessly. I did have some technical issues but that was cleared up quickly because Thankfully I also purchased a two year best buy warranty that allowed me to contact their "Geek squad" and let me tell you, they are life savers! I was able to get back to focusing on my education quickly.

I love being able to get the work I need done on my computers without being overcharged. I do however, have issue with buying a new Mac and being told I could not get the 20 minute instructional on the Mac when I was picking up a computer that had a hard drive erased, another that was to have its drive moved to the Mac, and picking up the Mac (that did not have set up the apps I requested) that was not ready. Only to be told I had to set up another appointment when an in-person agent originally set up the appointment knew my situation and assured me I would be given a 20 minute lesson on the Mac. One agent tried to be as helpful as possible as the other was trying to rid of me. In the end I was asked if we were I was good (my first Mac). I asked how to shut it off. That should be at the basic of instruction. Just because they know does not mean I know. Most of the techs were wonderful, but one ruined my experience. When I asked how to shut it off, I think she realized I was clueless and really needed help. Instead I found a place on my Mac that walks me through some of the basic issues and have reached out to friends or You Tube for other concerns. Something that could have been explained by the techs in a 20 minute walk through. After spending that much money and telling them my fears of transitioning to a Mac from a PC, they should have been more understanding.

I came to the store at Walker Lake rd. at about 5 PM Tuesday
11/25/25. I needed and bought a printer and ink cartridge with the help of a young man ,very knowledgeable, has been there about 3 years and is working his way through college. I'm so sorry I forgot his name and the floor supervisor's name also. They both helped me settle a problem that I have had for about a year with my BB Total Yearly Subscription. It started out as double billed last year, one cancelled, and my Web root Secure Anywhere subscription cancelled, After fixing that issue last January, I find I have a BB Total still on record as expired after 6 Months! These 2 employees worked the issue out and I am now still a Total Yearly, Happy Member!

Recently I purchase a Best Buy membership along with two MSI 15.6” thins and they have preformed far beyond my expectations, though the fans can be loud my temperatures while playing demanding games are beyond satisfactory. This is a perfect laptop for gamers and student alike as I have used it for both. I upgraded the ddr5 from 8gb to 16gb for both laptops and the tech team there was happy to install for me since I was on the go, and this was a free service included in my Best Buy total membership. They provide diagnostic as well as data transfers along with many other services included with my membership purchase. I 100% will be repurchasing when my plan expires. It’s beyond worth the money and my family and I will surely remain customers for life due to the quality of service I received.

Great value for what you get. I love the peace of mind of knowing that I’m covered if I buy from Best Buy. For a small yearly fee I get covered on items that I would be buying regardless at the same price whether I bought it on Amazon or some other retailer I just feel like my money goes further at Best Buy because of this program. Generally, it’s easier to just hop on the computer. Have it show up at your door sometimes same day through Amazon, but when the price is the same and you have greater coverage, Best Buy is easy to access great at keeping their website accurate for in stock items. they have plenty of locations and plenty of options. I really couldn’t be happier.

Although I purchased my computer at the Williamsburg store, I required additional assistance setting it up at home and Sean went above and beyond in every way. He arrived right on time, explained everything with clarity and patience, and demonstrated an impressive level of technical knowledge. What really stood out was his kindness, professionalism, and genuine desire to help.
Sean made sure every question was answered and every issue resolved, all while maintaining a friendly and respectful attitude that immediately put me at ease. The membership was great for a new laptop I bought and switching the info on my old laptop to the new one. It did not help when I bought a Bushnell View on line and used a rewards certificate. I returned it because Bushnell came out with a new model for the same price. Best Buy refunded my money but not the rewards certificate. I was told when I returned it the reward would be added back to my account, but after a week and I called it was not. I was then told rewards are not reusable. I thought I the membership should have helped me with customer service.

I bought this plan after I already purchased a television that I had somewhat immediate issues with. This was an ongoing project and the installation took me past my return period on the television I purchased without total membership, and that's when I started finding issues with my purchase of the television. I wish I had gotten this ahead of time. Even though I haven't had personal experience from a total membership product warranty/replacemen yet, however I just wish I had local support from TOTAL rather than the dead ends I've been getting in resolving my issues with the television manufacturer.

If you’re someone who buys multiple devices or electronics/appliances in a year, or you own expensive tech items that you want protected — My Best Buy Total is definitely worth it. It gives a nice balance of convenience (shipping, deals), protection (warranty & repair discounts), and support (tech help) that offers real value over time.
If, on the other hand, you’re a casual shopper (buying once in a blue moon), then the membership might feel like overkill — in that case, consider buying protection on a per-item basis instead.

I was very satisfied with my Total Tech membership. I thought is was a good thing to have when problems arise. Now I am not so sure. I was able to bring my laptop in to the GEEK SQUAD and they would help or fix the problem. Now my new laptop has only a 2 year free service and then there is a monthly charge. The Total membership seem to go up and the services that were included now have to be paid for. On the reccomendation of recommending Total memebership there should be a MAYBE to check off.

My husband and I bought a new house last year and we needed new appliances. I purchased a refrigerator and a washer/dryer set. The Best Buy rep suggested the membership and explained the price match guarantee, especially since Black Friday would fall in the 60-day time. We were able to quickly and easily get the new sale price difference on all three items. Our particular refrigerator went to an additional sales promotion during the time, and they did the adjustment again. I am now remodeling my kitchen and purchasing more appliances and watching for price differences again.

My Best Buy Total™ Membership Review
I’ve been using the My Best Buy Total membership for a while now, and I think it’s a solid option if you shop at Best Buy often or buy a lot of electronics.
What I like:
The extended return window is really helpful. You get 60 days to return most items, which gives you time to really test things out.
The 24/7 tech support is convenient. I’ve used it a couple of times for setup questions and minor issues, and the help was quick and easy.
You get two years of protection on most purchases, which includes accidental damage. That’s saved me money already on a broken pair of headphones.
Free shipping is fast and reliable, which is nice if you don’t live near a store.
What could be better:
It’s not cheap. At around $180 a year, you really need to use the benefits to make it worth it.
The exclusive deals are okay, but not amazing. Sometimes you’ll find better discounts elsewhere.
If you don’t buy electronics regularly, the membership probably isn’t worth it.
Overall:
If you’re someone who buys tech often and wants extra protection and support, this membership makes sense. But if you’re only shopping once or twice a year, you might be better off sticking with the free My Best Buy tier.

Probably the best money I spent that day. Membership came with services of the Geek Squad tech support team, who handled the new computer setup, data transfer from my old machine, and Microsoft software load - and did an excellent job. They were friendly and helpful. One footnote: the store's phone system was terrible! Basically, I could communicate with the store by phone; I was repeatedly transferred to a corporate phone system. One of the Geek Squad left me a phone message to call him back; the store phone system would not put through my call!

If you are in your 70's like me, and don't have the slightest on what to do on your computer, I highly recommend buying the Geek Squad warranty. Why? because you don't have to go to the Best Buy with issues or questions. Just dial the Geek Squad and ask for Remote Help. They will take over your computer and take care of whatever issues or questions you might have. And you can call then 24/7 as many times as you need.
