Let me start by saying that this review will be based on impressions, basic use and overall "feel" of the product. Considering that it's efficacy will take some time, I can not comment. That said, my overall impressions are that this is a typical German quality device. The build quality is certainly beyond the typical big box cheap plastic thermometer. The app is simple, clean and straightforward. When my wife set it up, it asked some basic questions regarding cycle and other things I don't understand but she said set-up was simple and took just a few minutes. Once she had it setup and paired... Well, like I said, only time will tell but first impressions, this is a great option by a well respected healthcare company from Germany. End of the day based on first impressions, overall build quality and set-up and use of the app, I would recommend to a friend.

The wife and I have been trying to conceive and this little tool helps track her temperature better. It is faster and more exact than a regular thermometer. The simplicity of use with this device is what makes it easy to want to keep track on a daily basis. Read the instructions as it is important to get started but it's simple. For a reliable temperature reading it is best to keep it in for at least 30 seconds but up to 3 minutes for the most accurate reading. The wife doesn't like waiting so that's the only reason she took a star away. It will beep 4 times once testing is complete. You can measure temps orally, rectally, or vaginally. The Ovy app is separate but if used together it makes for a great NFP tracker. Bonus points, it has a replaceable battery so you can use this and pass down to friends trying to conceive.

The description says it can be connected with the app that is misleading. It’s not a Bluetooth thermometer. It’s a manual thermometer so you would actually have to go and enter the reading in the app that took me a little bit research to find out so it is not App friendly you can do it in any app you would like!

Basal temp works great and accurate. Great to have as a backup at home.

The Beurer Basal thermometer is a basic thermometer for tracking women’s fertility cycle, and is a great inexpensive step towards pregnancy planning. It is more precise than a regular run-of-the-mill thermometer and can show upto 2 decimal places. The product is well built, and has a flexible tip for convenient usage. A protective cover is included for easy storage and hygiene. For tracking the fertility cycle, the Ovy smartphone app is needed, and all data entry is manual i.e. the thermometer itself has no sync feature. As such, it is sometimes cumbersome, especially in this day and age of connected devices. It’s very easy to forget to punch in the daily data especially during busy work days. For the price, this is a decent specialty thermometer.

Really good thermometer for family planning. The display will show two decimal places which helps to identify even the slightest change in temperature. I recommend downloading the companion Ovy app to help with temperature and cycle tracking. The tip is flexible, a protective cap, and easy to clean. This thermometer is waterproof which aids in making it easy to clean. You will hear an audible signal when the temperature is complete and it comes with auto shut off so you do not need to worry about leaving it on and draining the battery. It will even save the last measured temperature. So far we find it is very accurate and is helping us with our cycle tracking.

So your first thought is probably "how does this thermometer help with fertility?" The answer is, a woman's temperature changes on fertile days. It can be as little as half of a degree. Thanks to Beurer's two decimal place readings, you can track these changes. This is something you won't be able to accurately measure on other standard products that usually only give a single decimal reading. Other than that, it's a standard thermometer good for every day use for both oral or otherwise. The durable and flexible tip offers as much of a comfortable experience (considering) as possible no matter how you use it. No matter which model you have, Beurer's optional "Ovy" app offers convenience in tracking all your cycle measurements. My only issue is on the product page it says "Syncs with the “Ovy” app for cycle tracking" in the description which is incorrect. The OT30 model with bluetooth can do this, but this model (OT20) does not have bluetooth. This is a great way to add a substantially increased chance to get pregnant. Knowing your partners most fertile days will obviously greatly increase your chance of pregnancy and the added app experience is very helpful in tracking your best days to get pregnant on your phone. The build quality is very good and I suspect that this will last us through as many children as we want. It of course defaults to regular thermometer and can be used by anyone. I have used it on occasion and it works fine. When it comes to a planned pregnancy this thermometer is something both you and your partner will benefit from.

The Beurer Basal Thermometer is used to track basal body temperature for natural family planning. This can be used in conjunction with the Ovary cycle app which can be downloaded from the Apple App store within seconds. There are various features within the app to keep track of your cycle and body temperature, however the recommended measuring time of the minutes is quite lengthy. Additionally there is only one button that controls the thermometer. This button is used to turn it on/off as well as measures, resets and stops. Therefore, this thermometer can be inconvenient for busy women. Planning for the right time to conceive can be stressful and the Beurer Basal Thermometer can add additional stress based on its lengthy measurement time and one button for multiple functions.

The Beurer line is becoming a household name in what I might refer to as the more holistic side of personal health and wellbeing. The Beurer Basal Thermometer is exactly as titled, a great inexpensive first step in natural family planning. The thermometer does not track within the app after a temperature reading. However, the free Ovy app allows you to track your temperatures throughout the day and your cycle. it then takes the data provides prediction for the most opportune times of the month. The thermometer is built very well and feels like a thermometer that you would find in your mother’s bathroom and are always surprised that it still works after all these years. The app is user friendly but does require a very firsthand approach. Works and hopefully will work for you and yours.

My wife has been using this with the cylce app. She feels like it is a lot of effort to keep it in her mouth for several minutes in the morning. We did hit our most fertile time according to the app. Time will tell if that was accurate. This would be much better if it logged the info to the app automatically and if the time was quick like the temporal scanners.

This was somewhat of a throwback thermometer. It is pretty basic, does the job, and is accurate. I originally preferred the updated more digital version but this one did the job and was very accurate....you just need to ensure you are using it regularly in the morning. We'll see if there are significant results soon.

We are working on child #3 and being able to track peak fertility has been a challenge for us. This device, in conjunction with the OVY cycle tracking app works well! I suspect that we will see success with this in no time (only been using for about a week or two at this point).

In my wife's words: " This would have been better with some smart features but it does what it is supposed to do., hopefully, as surprises can be quite challenging! The one-button feature can be improved upon. Really simple product".

This works exactly as it supposed to. Take your temp 1st thing in the morning right before getting out of bed. I have not had any issues with it.

The Beurer Basal Body Temperature thermometer works exactly as expected and has some nice features. The flexible tip and larger screen are nice upgrades from similiarly priced BBTs. The Ovy app is really nice for calculating cycle and sharing the cycle with your partner. With this product you have to manually enter the results.

I thought this was a regular thermometer. But it’s to track your fertility. I am done having kids, therefore I have no use for this. For women who are trying to track their fertility, it’s good that there is a product to help them. Recommended for any women who are planning to have a family.
