    GREAT VACUUM WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

After much review and debating, I finally decided on this one. I LOVE IT!!!! This is the first Bissell I have owned and I am more impressed with this one than I have been with Hoover (especially) and even the Dyson. I had vacuumed with my old Hoover Mach 4 (which was only about 6 months old and was a piece of crud from the get go) the day before and I was amazed at how much dirt was STILL in the carpet. I live in an apartment and I hate to think about what has been on the floor from previous residents, but with this vacuum I finally feel that the floor is REALLY CLEAN. My husband even noticed that the carpet looked cleaner (brighter) than it did before. Matter of fact we had a spot on the floor that was a stain (so I thought) but when I vacuumed over the area to my surprise it came out (which my old vacuum never even made a difference) The suction is just outstanding, compared to a Dyson which is supposed to be the best, Bissell wins hands down. We have 5 Dysons at work and let me tell you, they do not suck, they are in the repair shop constantly. The only thing I wish this vacuum had is a retractable cord, those have been around for years and I wish all companies would make it standard. I just HATE having to wrap the cord around. It is a tad bit heavy so someone who is older or has a bad back might have a little trouble with it, but it is not a problem to me at all. Matter of fact, I happily vacuumed for probably an hour (LOL) the first day I got it and was not at all bothered by the weight. My vacuum came with some bonus items (Dust Mite Control, which you can buy in the store and if you have allergies I would recommend this as well), an extra Hepa Filter which was GREAT!. This vacuum has a long cord, so I was able to go from room to room with ease. Great attachments that really work. I am also going to take this outside and use in the car with the attachment (since the brush roller stops automatically once it is in the upright postion). So hopefully there will be no need to go to the car wash anymore. I would highly recommend this vacuum to anyone who wants quality, outstanding cleaning, and a good buy. This has made our carpets bright and softer! LOVE IT

This is by far the best vacuum that I have ever used. This vacuum is super strong and I was amazed at the amount of dirt and dust that was pulled out of my carpet. It also has an airtight HEPA filter that traps all of the airborune particles and only lets out clean air. I have noticed that my house has been smelling a lot cleaner since using this and my carpets are actually looking a lot cleaner that I would have thought possible as well. I highly recommend this purchase.

I love this vacuum cleaner!!! I am amazed at how great the carpet looks after using it. I had my choices down to 3 or 4 vacuum cleaners and read all the reviews on them. I went to Best Buy and tried them all out, right there in the store. I am not sure how many people think about doing that, but they will let you. The vacuum cleaner is a little heavy but works for me. The attachments are great. The button to turn the vacuum brush off and on is right there on the handle which is great. The power button is also on the handle. I had read a review that had stated they did not like the location on the power button and I do see how you can turn off the power while you are vacuuming. I personally like it in case I need to turn the power off quickly. You have to empty the canister just about everytime you vacuum but I like that I can put the canister down in a plastic bag and dump it without having to be exposed to all the dust. I do recommend if you buy this vacuum or any other to take it out of the box at the store and just check that nothing is broken. When I bought mine, I got it home and the front part was broken. Clearly a shipping issue and not Best Buy's fault at all. I live about 20 miles from the store so it was an inconvenience to take it back. In the end it was all worth it because I think this was a great purchase!

    Fantastic Vacuum

I also had my eye on a Dyson, but when I started reading reviews for this model, I wanted to give it a try to hopefully get the same suction but for less money. My daughter has dust allergies and the filtration system seems to work great. We have a Maine coon cat, so there's always lots of cat hair to vacuum up. It vacuums well on bare floors, carpets, and even with the wand attachment (the edge of the baseboard gets really clean!). I'm always amazed at how much stuff I empty out of the canister. We have to empty it a couple times to vacuum the whole house, but I don't mind because that's just stuff it isn't leaving behind. I don't feel the model is too heavy, and I'm a woman that's 5'7" weighing about 130 lbs. It's not super light, but I figure if you burn some calories while cleaning it's a bonus. :) Love this, look no further. Have had this vacuum for 6 months, worked great on the carpets and even better now that most of the house is tile laminate.

Absolutely amazing. It put our old vacuum to shame. I brought it home, put it together in a few minutes, and cleaned part of my living room. I couldn't believe how disgusting my floor was. It was almost embarrassing how full the bin was, with only a few passes and without moving obstacles. It was amazingly quiet, and incredibly easy to use. I was a little skeptical about the other reviews, and if this vacuum was really "that" good. It is. I would skip over all of those higher priced vacuums and go with this, you won't be disappointed. The only negative I saw was that it is a little heavy. It doesn't bother me, but I'm a 6'1 male...a 5'0 110 lb. person might have a hard time taking it up and down stairs, but even so I would still recommend this product.

I have used an older model vacuum for a while with not the greatest results. I borrowed my neighbors well known vacuum to get a good cleaning done. While it did a good job, I wasn't convinced it was worth the money. After reading reviews on the Healthy Home I decided to give it a try. Boy, what a great decision that was! It cleans amazingly well. The hose reaches everything I need it too and the suction on the vacuum and with all the attachments is never ending. I have not been dissapointed and would (and do) recommend this vacuum to anyone. I have had mine for a few months now and continue to be amazed at the amount of dirt, not just carpet fuzz, that it picks up. Having the spin brush button on the handle makes it quick and easy to change floor types. Sometimes I bump the power button (also on the handle) while vacumming, but having it there is worth the potential trouble. I have had the same problem with tip over, but if you change the position of the vacuum it helps. The attachment for stairs and rugs works very well also. All in all it is a very competitive vacuum and can hold its own against the much higher priced vacuums. I believe you won't be dissapointed if you decide to purchase, just amazed at what your old vacuum has been leaving behind!

    Awesome Vacuum

This vacuum does an amazing job, this coming from the owner of a well known, very pricey vacuum. It's cleaning power is far beyond any other vacuum I've come across. I had to clean out the canister after one sweep through our 1200 square foot home. Living in the country and having 4 boys and two cats, you could imagine the run through our carpet and linoleum gets. The Bissell vac will certainly keep our floor clean from here on out. After vacuuming with it one time we could feel and see the difference in our carpet. It didn't stop cleaning after the first run, much more has been brought up out of the carpet fibers since. The one down fall is that there is no auto drive on this vacuum, making it difficult to maneuver on carpets, especially for a 5 year old. If you are thinking about getting this vacuum and have arthritis, a bad back, shoulder, or wrist, I would not recommend this vacuum just for that reason (unless that then gives you the excuse that you CAN'T vacuum). I'd wait for one with a drive or go for another model. One of the best attributes of this vacuum to me is, I now don't have to switch everything around just to do my linoleum. Just the switch of a button, and I'm good to go. I love the on board tools. Being able to pull off the hose and vacuum something out of a crevace right then and there is heaven sent. Just the other day I vacuumed out the couch, just because I could do it so easily. It's nice to have a vacuum I'm excited about using. This vacuum is well worth the cost. Compare it to other higher priced vacuums, and you'll see this vacuum is generally getting better reviews than the others. I would recommend this vacuum to all of my friends if they were out looking for a new vacuum.

    Great Purchase

This vacuum has been great! I can't believe that this thing is just as good as a Dyson! We got rid of our old Hoover Windtunnel Vac about a month ago and will never go back. Our old unit spit the dirt and dust right back out through the HEPA filter which was disgusting. The Bissell traps ALL of it and there is nothing but clean air coming out. The only down side (albeit small) to this vacuum is the weight. It's a little heavier than our last one but for the job that it does I can over look that. We have a 1,000 square ft town house that is ALL carpet with 2 sets of stairs that this thing attacks it like a pro. My one complaint is that you have to work on a technique for emptying the cannister. (You basaically need to do this with all cannister vacuums) The main thing is to wrap the top of the garbage back around the cannister before you open it. Once you do that, push the button to open the cannister and tap all around the cannister. All of the dirt and dust will fall out into the bag. Much better than having to deal with a filter like on our last vacuum. Some people say it tips over when using the cleaning attachments (which it can) but if you leave the hose in the bottom clip it will eliminate tipping. Brush attachment works great on stairs pulling out more dirt and dust than can possibly be imagined.

    Best Vacuum

This vacuum is great! We have two dogs, a husky (lots of white fur) and a border collie mix (long black fur). Our previous vacuum was really old and couldn't pick up the fur like it used to. So I started shopping around, researching new vacuums. I had been told that Dysons were the best and I should get one of them, but I wasn't so sure they were in my price range. When I read the reviews on the Bissels, I thought I'd give it a try. I'm sure glad I did! This vacuum works great! There was so much dog hair that the old vacuum couldn't pick up, that we could hardly tell what color our carpets were anymore! The first night after picking up this Bissell vacuum, I vacuumed of course (had to test it out). I was amazed at the first swipe over the border collie's favorite spots! The hair was gone! My old vacuum would have take a least two or three swipes even when it was still pretty new! I did have to empty the canister a lot, but there was a lot of fur, so its understandable. The only other problem was the tiping over thing while using the hose. But as was said in another review, as long as you remember to turn the vacuum around it works just fine. Also it doesn't lose suction when it tips over so you can still vacuum with the hose anyway.

    Buy This Vac!

Got this vacuum because we had a new baby. It works great, the best test is when you vac your house for the last time with the old one before using the new one. I had to empty it out a couple of time. The suction is great, powerful and the attachments work great. Don't listen to reviews saying that its bad because you can work on it yourself. Or any of that other nonsense, if you are buying a $200+ dollar vac, pony up and buy the GeekSquad warranty. It's cheap and the service is great. The first one I bought, I broke the bin because I dropped it. They replaced the bin, took it apart, and clean it out. It looked like brand new. The day they called me to pick it up it feel out of the back of my truck...IN THE BEST BUY PARKING LOT! The rubber around the roller broke but it still worked. I didn't take it back because i was embarrassed to be back so soon. When I did take it back they said it wasn't fixable and gave me a store credit. I just ordered number two. I'm sure it will be just as good. Happy vacuuming.

Same Dyson technology at almost half the cost

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Great suction power and with the multi-cyclone technology will not clog the HEPA filter for years in normal household use. The small cyclones remove the dust and dirt the large cyclone misses so little or no dirt is exhausted through the HEPA filter. So just like the Dyson ads, the vacuum will not lose suction power becuase very little dirt ever makes it to the HEPA filter. Bissell says to replace the HEPA filter every 6 months but I believe you should get at least 5 years out of one. It was unbelieveable how much dirt this vacuum picked up that our old vacuum had missed. The power button right on the top of the handle along with the ability to turn off the rotating brush are nice features. The TurboBrush is great for stairs, sofas, and vacuuming out the car. I would highly recommend buying this vacuum. You will not be disappointed.

Best vacuum I have ever had!! We have a dog, and a cat. Our old vacuum could not get the pet hair off anything! The first time we used this Bissell, I had to empty the chamber 4 times because of all the filth that was in the carpets! Oh the JOY!!! works great on the curtains, and we had a chair that the cat uses. I have been over that chair with vacuums, lint brushes of all kinds with no luck. The power attachement cleaned it right up! I reached up about 8 stair steps with the attachements. Not to shabby. It is a little messy when you empty the chamber, but find a bagless that isn't. I just took it onto the porch, wrapped a grocery bag around it and tapped the outside. worked fine. Highly recommended!

This is by far the best vacuum I have ever used. It made our carpet, which we were considering replacing before we bought this unit, look like it did a many years ago. I didn't realize how poorly my old vacuum was working. It picked up dirt so I thought that was how it was. This Bissell unit is incredible. Look at this one before you spend $200 or $300 more on a Dyson. Excellent unit. I read the reviews before I bought it and they were spot on. Make sure you empty the dust collector before it's totally full and you'll never have a problem with the dirt and fibers sicking in the canister. Incredible vacuum, but it is a little on the heavy side.

With 3 cats and 1 dog - it is the best vacuum for my wife and I. Immediately, I could not only tell the air quality was better, but all of the dander that sits in the carpeting was even pulled up. We were looking at spending $500 - $600 for the "other" type, but once we saw this was extremely affordable at half the cost - I couldnt pass it up. My cousin bragged about his "other" type for the past 4 months - its now broken. I've had mine for 5 months and its just great!!! I highly recommend this vs. the "other" type.

Money well spent! After spending money on cheaper models that did not work well, I decided to purchase this and am very happy that I did. There is good suction as this is a pretty powerful vacuum. The cons are that it is on the heavier side and the suction cord for the tools is a bit too short and awkward to use, thus why I didn't give it a 5 star rating. Overall a good vacuum.

This is a great vacuum!! This is my third vacuum and in my opinion the best one I have ever had. I would recommend this to any one that can handle a 25 lb. vacuum. I was amazed the first time I used it as to the amount of dirt it picked up, my old vacuums would not have been able to pick up the amount of dirt that this vacuum picked up. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone that does not have back problems!!!!

    BEST VACUUM ON THE MARKET

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

AFTER A TON OF RESEARCH AND RETURNING ANOTHER POPULAR HIGH END VACUUM WE DISCOVERED WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE THE BEST VACUUM ON THE MARKET. IT WORKS GREAT ON CARPET AND HARD FLOORS WITH A BUTTON THAT TURNS OFF THE BEATER BRUSH RIGHT AT YOUR THUMB TIP, AND A POWER BUTTON RIGHT AT YOUR FINGER TIPS. THE VACUUM IS A BIT HEAVY BUT IT MAKES UP FOR THIS WITH EASY MANUERVABILITY AND WHEELS THAT ROLL AS SMOOTH AS ROLLER BLADES. IT IS VERY, VERY EASY TO PUSH AROUND. ALL ATTACHMENTS ARE EASY TO GET TO AND USE, THE DIRT CANISTER CAN BE REMOVED EASILY WITH ONE HAND AND IS THE EASIEST CANISTER TO EMPTY THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN OR USED AND IF ANYONE ELSE HAS A PROBLEM WITH EMPTYING IT THEIR NOT DOING SOMETHING RIGHT. THE POWER CORD COMES OUT THE TOP SO THERE IS NO BENDING OVER TO PICK UO THE CORD SO IF YOU SUFFER FROM A BAD BACK AS I DO THIS IS DEFINITELY THE VACUUM FOR YOU. THE HEPA FILTER IS ALSO THE BEST THAT YOU BUY WITH 100% FILTERING AND I CAN REALLY SEE AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE FROM MY OLD VAC. THE POWER CORD AND SUCTION HOSE ARE ALSO VERY LONG. I CANNOT THINK OF A SINGLE BAD THING TO SAY ABOUT THIS VAC EXCEPT IT IS A LITTLE HIGH PRICED BUT AT ONE THIRD LESS PRICED THAN THE OTHER FAMOUS CYCLONIC VAC THAT YOU SEE ON T.V. ALL THE TIME AND COMBINED WITH THE FACT THAT IT WORKS BETTER THAT THAT VAC IT IS WORTH IT FOR SURE. I HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK.

From the moment I bought this I loved it! Having 2 dogs, and a cat I needed something that was going to work great on pet hair. The attachments have been a blessing, and the spin brush attachment is the best working I've EVER seen. My only problem is approximately 6 months after buying, the floor brush stopped working properly. I'd have to hit the canister to get it to come on, or it would just stop and go when it wanted. Now a year later & it doesn't work at all. I'm very disappointed and after reading another review that someone else was having same problems, I probably won't buy another. Bissell really should look into this, because aside from that it has been a nice sweeper to own.

    Best Vacuum EVER!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this vacuum after reading all the great reviews. I absolutely love it! My old vacuum (hoover) broke about 6 weeks ago and my Mom gave me her old vacuum (dirt devil, only a year old) since I didn't have the money to purchase a new one at the time. Her old vacuum was the absolute worste vacuum I had ever used in my life (now I know why she gave it to me and said she wanted to buy a new one)! It didn't pick up anything, I had to go over spots numerous times and more often then not ended up just picking up whatever was on the floor and throwing it away myself. After about a month of becoming completely frustrated I researched vacuums online. This arrived yesterday and it's without a doubt the BEST vacuum I have ever owned! My carpet looks great! And, I was shocked (ok, not really because that dirt devil was a piece of junk) at the amount of dirt, cat hair and fuzz it picked up. I had to empty the cannister after vacuuming my house. It was GROSS! I am not a dirty person in the least and just seeing all that filth that was in the carpet made me sick. My carpet is now totally fluffed up and looks amazing!!! And, most importantly...it's CLEAN!!! I would absolutely recommend buying this vacuum! You won't regret it!!!

I bought this vacuum 2 years ago and only have had one problem with it which was easy to get fixed. From the first vacuum this Bissell was able to pick up more dust mites, dirt, and hair than my previous vacuums. It's hard to lug up and down the stairs but that is it's only down fall.
