One of only 2 movies I have ever given 5 stars (the other being American History X). Already had BHD on bluray, but pre-ordered the steelbook the 1st day it became available. It has a long list of characters, so it was hard for me to remember all their names. This movie is packed with action. It has great acting and a great story. And it is based on actual events. In my opinion this will always be one of the best war movies ever made.

If you want a deep digging, high immersion Atmos soundtrack, look no further. The overhead effects are almost exclusively for Helicopters, and even with scenes where you cannot see anything flying above you, there is something over your head. The surround immersion is also one of the best I have ever heard. 4k and HDR are nothing to write home about. Buy this disc for the audio only and you will not be disappointed.

I bought this to retire my Special edition DVD. Mostly for the extra features including 3 documentaries. Picture looks great but the only major drawback is the extended edition does not come in Blu Ray. Ridley Scott has always released a majority of his films with extended versions in blu ray - Gladiator, American Gangster, Kingdom of Heaven. I wonder why he didnt release the Black Hawk Down extended version in Blu Ray.

Has been one of my favorite all time movies, so when I saw this come out on 4k with HDR and Atmos, I had to pick it up and I'm very happy with the purchase. The HDR implemented is very good, you can almost feel the heat from the sun and the atmos addition is amazing as you can hear every minor thing off in the sides or helicopters above. Must buy for any 4k collection or anyone who loves these type of movies.

This is the fourth or fifth version of this movie Ive owned since it was released on VHS back in the day. This remaster does the movie justice. The picture in 4K is incredible, but what sets this apart from the blu ray version is the soundtrack. Fighting through "The Mogue" you hear everything. Every crack of a bullet, every footstep, every explosion in oerfect detail. Definitely worth picking up in 4K.

I love everything about this movie from the characters and actors used to the Cinematic score to the pacing and storyline from when the soldiers and Rangers and Special Forces first inhabit the city of Mogadishu until the conflict begins. Highly recommend this movie as it does a very good job of accurately representing the events that took place in Somalia in the 1990s.

I already owned this excellent movie on blu-ray, but when I saw it had been released in 4K, I had to upgrade because the reviews on the new transfer were fantastic. I was not disappointed. The 4K video looks spectacular and greatly enhances the gritty detail Ridley Scott captured on film. The Dolby Atmos audio is thundering as well. Definitely worth the upgrade.

It has to be in the top 25 war movies ever made. Where recent efforts like The Hurt Locker dragged or went on some side journey, this is gripping storytelling and never ceases to feel like the best documentary you've ever seen. You will feel like you left the battlefield. Ridley Scott and team at their very best. The transfer to 4k is absolute reference quality

This was one of my favorite movies growing up, but for awhile the only HD option was the Blu-ray from several years ago. This 4K UHD release is everything I could've hoped for. Aside from the theatrical version in in 4K, the extended cut is also included as well, which had previously only been available on DVD. This is a great release from Sony.

The movie is based on true events occurring back in 1993 when two Black Hawk helicopters are shot down in Somalia and allies face overwhelming odds to recover them and their crews. The movie is intense throughout. Although I bought the 4K Ultra version as an upgrade to Blu-ray, most of the movie is comparable in picture quality.

I'm hooked on the latest 4K Steelbook/Digital re-releases I originally bought this title on Blu-Ray/DVD many moons ago But the opportunity to get it in a 4K upgrade, Steelbook and now a Digital Copy all in one is the icing on the cake By the way this was and still is a great movie, depicting what really happen in Mogideshu

Sony has remastered Black Hawk Down for 4K UHD Blu-ray with excellent video and audio quality. Video quality is vibrant and has a good amount of film grain, while the upgraded Dolby ATMOS audio provides an immersing experience, although it could have used a little more bass. Packaging includes a standard Blu-ray, which isn't remastered and contains the same old transfer from a few years ago, although it would have been nice if Sony would have also upgraded it. This is a good release overall and worth adding to your movie collection, especially if you have a good 4K TV and a surround sound system at home.

This has been a favorite movie of mine since it came out. When I heard they were doing a 4k remaster I couldn't wait. The picture is great but the thing that continues to blow me away is the Dolby Atmos sound that comes with it. You can feel every explosion and it makes you feel like you are right there in the action.

Audio stands out with an outstanding Dolby Atmos mix, which puts you in the middle of the action. Blacks are solid and inky, resolution exhibits light film grain but excellent resolution. HDR allows for great clarity, and amazing shadow detail. Colors are somewhat muted, but I suspect by director's choice.

One of the most amazing cast lists helps define this early 2000’s war movie! The writing and directing and actors make this movie well worth watching. Look for a young Orlando Bloom, Tom Hardy, and Jeremy Piven have smaller roles with a cast that includes Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Sam Sheppard & many more

I had this originally on DVD, and haven't watched it for a few years. It is a great military type movie. After buying my 4K Player, I wanted to see what it would be like in 4K. It was worth getting the newer version. The picture is great and the sound quality is out of this world.

I loved the movie, it's very good and the sound in my home theater is phenomenal... the Dolby Atmos uffff.

I first saw this movie over 20 years ago and really enjoyed it then. Upgrading to 4k allows me to have some upgraded viewing of scenes.

GORGEOUS ARTWORK ON STEELBOOK INSIDE AND OUT. GREAT THREE DISC SET. ONLY ONE DISAPPOINTMENT. BLU-RAY IS THE ACTUAL FIRST EDITION WHICH IS NOT REMASTERED. THE BONUS DISC MAKES UP FOR IT WITH ALL THE EXTRAS FROM THE SPECIAL EDITION WITH ONLY TWO FEATURES NOT PORTED OVER. THIS IS A 4K MUST OWN.
