Very good show. Some of the character arcs took a very weird turn but despite that blacks sails season 3 closed out the series very well

Love this series. Great actors, great stories, amazing series overall. Would of loved for it to have gone on longer than 4 seasons. Highly recommend to any pirate fans.

show is awesome. One of HBO's best shows. Sad that they only have 3 seasons.

The third season of Black Sails is a turning point for all of the main characters. Sides are chosen...and not everyone survives. The arrival of the British fleet in the Caribbean--and on Nassau--with the new governor causes the majority of pirates to either flee, resist, or join up. The newest pirate on the show is actually one you've probably heard of--Blackbeard. And his presence is felt quite keenly throughout the season. He is a pirate king in his own right, who has been on the sidelines until now. And by the end of the season, a new pirate king may be born. One who is very familiar in literature... As the situation gets more and more dire for Nassau, the stakes keep getting higher for the pirate heroes of Black Sails. Secrets are revealed. Alliances are made and broken. And at least one main character does not survive. If you enjoy pirate action--with healthy doses of nudity and violence--then Black Sails is for you.

If you liked season two then you will like season 3. Basically this Game of Thrones on water with pirates continues in It's story. This show continues to get better each season. If you have not seen this show i recommend watching it from the beginning. over all this season is closer in feel to season 2 than season one which had a slow build to a satisfying payoff, whereas this season has a lot of action and intrigue building to a climatic season finale. To summarize good characters good effects good Music (Bear McCreary of the 2005 Battlestar Galatica). Highly recommend to fans of action adventure and piracy. In terms of technical specs and performance The blu ray looks as good as expected. some decent special features which show how the film the show which is pretty interesting if you are into that sort of stuff.

I've seen and purchased seasons 1-3 of the Black Sails Series and I will be buying the 4th season as well. I love the series, just wish it was longer. My favorite characters are John Silver, Maudi, Flint & Charles Vane (sorry they killed him off). They should do a sequel to Black Sails that would include John Silver & Maudi, Flint & Thomas, what happened to Max, Jack & Ann, and the future of Nassau. I would like to see more of this tale. Best Buys does an excellent job in comparing prices, their customer service was great, made me feel welcome and wanting to return to the store again. That means a lot. Keep up the good work Best Buys.

If you haven't watched Black Sails, this is perhaps the best show on television and, in my opinion, it doesn't get anywhere near the recognition it deserves. Season 3 was another very solid season that had me on the edge of my seat. They added one major new location and a few new major characters this season, and it was all phenomenally well done. After purchasing the season, I've binge watched it twice in a row in the first two weeks of owning it and I can't wait for Season 4! I highly recommend this show to anyone that likes pirates, period dramas, history, well done action, or fast paced shows.

My review revolves mostly around the packaging and the discs in the Season 3 box set. I'm a fan of the series and have purchased the previous two seasons on blu-ray. The (season 3) box set contains three blu-ray discs of which disc one was defective and would not play. Disc 2 and 3 would play; but disc two froze on one of the episodes. This set comes in the same tight (hard to take out) cardboard (multi-fold) sleeves (same as previous seasons sets) that are not good for the life of the discs. The difficulty in taking the discs out will/can cause you to touch the underside of the discs, in which the oil from your fingers will begin to damage the discs to the point that they will become unplayable (not to mention the damaged incurred by sliding the discs in and out of those cardboard sleeves)! I returned my box set to the local BB Store in the hopes that an exchange would remedy the defective discs issues encountered with my initial purchase. The BB store was very helpful with the exchange and thankfully the replacement box set did not have the same defective issues! WARNING!: If you are going to purchase this BS season 3 box set, open it and check ALL the discs immediately to make sure that they are functioning as they should! A note to STARZ and Anchor Bay Entertainment executives: if you are going to continue the desire to generate revenue off blu-ray (4K) sales, you need to STOP going the cheap route with your packaging!! Videophiles (like myself) that purchase your blu-ray box sets fully intend on keeping these sets to watch for many years to come and we demand packaging that will keep the discs in the best shape possible! Cheap packaging (in the long run) is only going to hurt this source of revenue for your companies (with exchanges and loss of overall sales)! Please take a hint from the excellent packaging utilized by Criterion Collection!! Would I recommend this purchase? Yes for the content; but the packaging for this series box sets are not user friendly and will eventually cause unrepairable damage (from regular handling) to the discs! (A work around is to buy standardized blu-ray disc holders to keep the discs in great shape and out of those cheap cardboard sleeves; making them much easier to handle. It's frustrating; but it enables you to take care of your investment.)

Now as a fan of the series and hearing that season 4 will be the end of the series I was a little sad so I purchased all three seasons. Each of the Box sets are good and quality made, but had to settle for Season 1 and 3 the DVD version and Season 2 the Blue Ray version and the only issue is the packaging is smaller with the Blue Ray Set. Now season 3 is almost the exact same setup as season 1 with three disc set and of a very nice quality depicting pictures specific to the season characters. I recommend this set for sure.

First of all, Disc 1 is NOT defective! I ran the disc on 3 different players and it works fine on all! Taking place a few months after what happened in Season 2's finale, we finally see Black Beard (played by Ray Stevenson)! The special effects are very good, there's enough violence and things to keep it interesting, and the visuals are excellent! If you love period pieces with pirates, go watch this show! It's too bad Season 4 is the end, but it was great while it lasted!

This is my favorite tv show of all time. If you like anything pirate related it is a must have. If you are a fan of action and drama it is also a must have. It has some comic relief, but for the most part can be quite dark. The cinematography and character development of Black Sails is second to none. It has an incredible cast that make you feel every emotion their character is conveying on screen. If you are looking for a new series to watch I highly recommend you get Black Sails!!

A high budget, well acted show from Starz. Black Sails is not available streaming online except at basically the same price that this combo pack is. Buying a physical copy that comes with the digital makes a lot more sense from the consumer side. The packaging is also compact so it saves place on your shelf. If you like historical TV series you cannot go wrong with Black Sails.

I can't get enough of this series. It keeps getting better and better with each season. I love that inclusion of black beard in this season. I hate that one of my favoarite characters got killed off in this season but this added to the "on the edge of your seat" aspect of the series. This is a must have on blu-ray! The cinematography for this series is impeccable!

3 times the Pirates, 3 times the twists, and lots of action. Yaaarrr Matey! In all seriousness, I was hooked from the very first minute of Season 3. Flint is out for revenge and the stakes become far greater than before. The acting continues to be excellent and the set pieces are definitely cool.

Outstanding series with great characters, development and plot. This is one of the best series on TV today. The production is excellent and they have spared no expense. The plot is a wonderfully imagined prequel to Treasure Island and won't disappoint any fan of pirates or other action genres. Highly recommended!

"Black Sails" is an entertaining show. Designed as prequel of sorts to the classic novel "Treasure Island," this show provides great entertainment for action aficionados, and lovers of historical drama. Expertly cast, and beautifully filmed, "Black Sails" is entertaining television from start to finish.

Found this show when researching our trip to Nassau Bahamas definitely intrigued with the pirate life, while mostly a guy show with the breasts the swearing and the violence it has had me hooked with the story line from the 2nd or 3rd show, eagerly await every new episode when it comes out .

Season after Season this Series is the Best as far as anything Pirate goes in movies and on Tv...... They even pull characters that were associated with Pirates during that time way back when..... You will not be disappointed in fact you'll want more.... It's addictive...!

"Black Sails" is a great story told with a realistic portrayal of shipboard life in the 1700's. Some of the rest of the story may be a stretch historically, but it is all addictive. Great action and very good acting all around. The cinematography is especially good.
