It seems all of the premium cable channels develop the best shows, and this series is one of them. While not as engrossing as Spartacus, this series takes a unique step as serving as a prequel to the Treasure Island story. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Black Sails is an American dramatic adventure television series set on New Providence Island and a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island.[1] The series was created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine for Starz.

I thought from start to finish there was tremendous action. I thought that the costumes were excellent and true to the time period. I think the casting director did a superb job with who he picked and I was sad when the series ended.

Things only get better in Season 3 with two more notable characters from folklore come into play; Woods Rodgers and Captain Teach a.k.a. Black Beard. Both playing a heavy role in the future of Nassau, also spoiler a legend is born.

I always enjoy a great series and Black Sails is one I have watched all of the seasons and purchased the dvds so I can go back and watch when ever I want. Boats, history alot of action and a great cast. I'm looking forward to season 4

Black Sails is full of all the good stuff, drinking, fighting, that thing that a man and a woman do (cant say secks), peg legs and intrigue. Who could ask for anything more!

I loved season one when it came out, and seasons two was on point, but I have to say that season three is even better than the rest. I can't wait to find out what happens next. I just hate its gonna be the finale of the series.

Three words...Jessica Parker Kennedy. Need I say more...lol! But nah, I love this show. There just something about shows from the ages that I find particularly interesting. It is a great watch for persons of appropriate ages.

Got to love a show based on Pirates, this show rocks, too bad there will be only 4 seasons of this great series. Buy this season if you are a fan if not buy season 1 and check it out, it is based on Treasure Island.

Anyone who has seen seasons 1 & 2 will know what to expect from this series. Season 3 delivers. Patiently waiting for season 4, which will be the last. John Silver is made into "Long John Silver " in season 3.

Best Pirate Series Ever! Multiple characters with engrossing story lines that will make you want to binge the entire season 3 but you will need to have started from the beginning for maximum enjoyment.

A thrilling movie based on the formation of Nassua with period correct historical view. The engaging plot pulls you in immediately and continues to get better season to season. This is one for the collection.

Great TV series about Pirates. Got it for my dad for christmas one year and he LOVED it! Reminded me of a pirate's version of Game of Thrones and based on true events with Black Beard.

This is where I feel that Black Sails really becomes a good show. Seasons one and two were rather boring in my opinion until the end of season two. However, season three is difficult to put down.

I originally started this series because the first season was on sale. fell in love with it immediately. to anyone who likes action but wants better pirates than johnny depp, this is the show for you.

I WATCHED THIS COMPLETE SERIES ON TV ONE OF THE BEST OUT THERE MUST HAVE I'LL BE REWATCHING THIS IN FULL AGAIN. IF YOU LIKE THIS TYPE OF MOVIE YOU'LL LIKE THIS SERIES VERY MUCH JUST AWESOME

You have to watch this entire series! Awesome history about pirates and how the Caribbean was fought for during this time period. One of the best shows no one has heard of!

For anyone interested in pirate lore and or pirates, this great show mixes reality with fantasy using real people from history and mixing in others from fiction to create a compelling story line.

Still in the process of finish watching the 3rd season, but this is a very underrated and enjoyable tv show. Check it out, these are violent and hard edged pirates, not Disney pirates.

Black Sails is an outstanding series and when you're watching it, you almost feel that you're right there as a part of it. I love this show and will continue to stay with it until the finish.
