Best Buy and BlackBerry Great Combo!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reviewing dozens of tablets, I chose the Best One for Me. They are all great tablets with great features, but I already had a Blackberry phone so my choice was narrowed down for good reasons. The tethering is included, so your phone can give you internet where you have phone signal, at no charge...Sorry Apple! It also works with PDF files, at no extra charge or APP changes! I use it for work and for play! The Photos are better than any iPhone can produce and easier to share! Thanks to the Staff at Best Buy for helping me see which tablet was best for me!

I'm not gambling to "hope" the patches fix things
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm returning mine tomorrow after playing with it for 3 days. It was a cinch to set up the bridge for my AT&T blackberry torch using the crackberry.com website, so that is NOT the reason why. The app store is a joke and some of the free apps that I tried would hang or lock up. My playbook would also hang trying to "patch" included apps. It hung when I was trying to open an attached Excel file in an email. Powering the unit on/off is still a mystery to me as is trying to return the playbook from a standby timeout. The bridge feature isn't worth 600 bucks to me and that is the ONLY reason I see buying one.

Excellent for work.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are are looking for tools and not toys, this is what you need. Although would be excellent if you can use your phone as a modem without the need to pay tethering to your phone company.

yeah I like it but..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It doesn't sync with macs so I cant transfer all my music and such. The app world is nothing to brag about. Also typing is a bit annoying compared to the ipad because it lacks features such as auto capitalization after a period. I was expecting more from this device. I plan on returning tomorrow. Its a shame because I do love the size and the fact that the touch capabilities are even on the black border too. Overall it has its negatives and positives, but the inability to sync it with my mac is the most upsetting and reason I got to return it. Another issue I found was not being able to attach docs to emails.

This does all I need !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This does all I need. If you do not have a Blackberry Phone; it may not be your cup of tea. For the price it far exceeds what I thought I was buying.

wifi sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When wifi worked it was ok but still slow. Wifi continued to drop every minute. If you google the playbook you will see that a ton of people have experienced wifi issues. The power button is waaay tooo small and the app market really really sucks!. The playbook has potential but blackberry dropped the ball on this one.

Too pricey for feature set. Get an iPad 2 instead!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used the original iPad, I find this device lacking. Bluetooth keyboards are not recognized. Even though I could connect the palybook to my laptop via bluetooth, I could not transfer files to or from. Even though it is supposed to share files through wifi it does not. You can only share connecting through USB. No e-mail client or printing features. Touch and scrolling was hit or miss. No PPTP VPN service available. Will not connect to an iPhone Hotspot. If you have a blacberry phone the playbook may be OK otherwise get an iPad 2; same money better product. Better forward facing camera that iPad and can handle flash.

Good, not great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a good product that could have been great if it went with an android platform rather than developing it's own blackberry one. Because of that the apps are generally poor and very limited. But my main complaint is its inability to play my media. Couldn't stream, couldn't load digital copies of movies, which is a big part of why I bought it. But it did have great picture quality and its usability as a tablet was very good, meaning it was responsive, it had the great idea of utilizing the frame area for user functions and it was a great travel size.

It Broke Randomly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love blackberry products and when i first heard they were releasing this I was so happy and the product worked great for about two months then one day the speakers went out and then 30 mins later the whole device died and the light would just flash (which has happened to alot of people just google it). The one part i hated about this product was that there is not future for this device sorry to say but this product will die unless blackberry changes things fast with this tablet.

Expensive browser and IPOD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AT&T Wireless customers BEWARE. AT&T has not approved the BlackBerry Bridge software which you must have in order to sync your BlackBerry smartphone with the PlayBook. You need to download the Bridge software onto your smartphone through BB Apps, however, you get an error message from BB that the Bridge Download is not available to you from your carrier. BB Tech Support confirmed this issue. The main reason I bought the Playbook was so I could read emails and attachments on the PlayBook's larger screen that I received on my smartphone. Also you cannot live stream movies or TV shows from Netflix on the PlayBook like you can on IPAD. Netflix gave me an error message that the operating system of my device (PlayBook) was incompatible with live streaming. On the positive side; I did load my music on the Playbook and the speakers have outstanding sound. Also, screen resolution is excellent when browsing the web, just wish I could view videos besides You Tube. Not sure why BlackBerry introduced this device, have been a BlackBerry user for over 10 years and AT&T for over 5 years, this is very disappointing and a waste of over $900 with accessories -- will be returning all and converting to an IPhone and IPAD on Verizon.

Unfinished Piece of Junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is basically a $500 paperweight. No native email, calendar or contact apps. Basically no apps at all. You can brick it by doing a basic OS upgrade. Small screen that is worthless in portrait view. RIM has a miserable record of improving devices that they release in an unfinished state. See Storm and Storm 2. The list goes on and on. Why would anyone want to own one of these when for the same amount of money pretty much every Android or Apple offering is 100x better with more features.

What a waste
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use primarily for internet etc. so my kids can do school work while we are traveling. It was a total waste of money, it couldn't even download its own apps from the blackberry app store!! Went to online help and they pretty much said, yah their not working. What a joke. Returned it, and got a motorola zoom.
