Relies too heavily on the software

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The overall design of the keyboard is fine, but the over reliance on the software to manage/apply settings, even when rebooting the keyboard returns to defaults, limits its usefulness. I find it extremely annoying to deal with the default 'Breathing' lighting scheme, the light slowly fades on and off, so that I cannot consistently see the keys in poor lighting unless I am running a supported OS. Also the keycaps do not allow backlighting for the shifted key codes, none of the shifted value from the number/function keys for example, so again you cannot see them in poor lighting. A replacement keycap set is available for $29.00 but the design seems a bit cheap. Overall I will not purchase another Razer keyboard.

Black Widdow wired keyboard

Disappointed

The keys are great and i enjoyed the feel. The software however would frequently experience a bug wherein the lighting settings would not apply and the keyboard would revert to the default 'Breathing' mode. This mode really annoyed me, and no matter what you do you cannot get the other settings to work in the razer software. Reboot was the only way to fix it and rebooting just to not be annoyed by my keyboard flashing was the final straw. I purchased a SteelSeries Apex5 instead and it is far superior

Locked up my computer

It locked up my computer. My mouse would no work with keyboard connected. I had to shut off computer and disconnect the keyboard. Then had to restart computer. I returned keyboard to Best Buy. They did not have another one as a replacement at the time.
