Probably what literally started the next & most successful attempt at "The Comic Book Movie", at least for Marvel Comics; Blade was the unexpected smash success (for it's time) and would set the precedent and road for what we know as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Other films failed in the early 90's Blade's success was due to it's low popularity & lack of restrictions that made this horror action adventure the hit it is that holds a place to many even today.

Was quite shocked when I was able to purchase BLADE 4k Steelbook directly from Best Buy as it had sold out in it's first run. Had been wanting the movie but the price on the secondary market was just too high. Ran to Best Buy to pick up my online order and just couldn't believe it when I had it in my hands. Loved the steelbook art. Thank you Best Buy.

I ordered this after the announcement of the new forthcoming Blade film just to have in my collection and it's the best of the triology if you ask me. For its time, this is a good film with awesome fight sequences and a decent story. The SFX of course (for the time) are quite cheesy in this day and age, but still a good Snipes film--totally embodied this role!

Wow! This was a treat I’ve been waiting for. Blade is a classic to me and to see it on 4K gave me chills. I mean man this version blows the socks off from the past bluray. This 4K brings a refreshed look to the movie. The picture quality is clean,sharp and the audio good gracious. It looks so good that some scenes looks like it just came out in this era. I mean especially at the beginning with the party scene and the techno music. The hdr smashes this movie with color depth and details to add that pop. And the audio with Dolby atmos will make you feel like your in the film with them. Enough said! Just invest into this I promise you it’s a winner.

Blade is a classic Marvel film that is still underrated to this day and was surprisingly ahead of its time in many ways (visuals/cinematography, story, tone, Wesley Snipes' performance, action/choreography) even if some aspects have not aged particularly well (3rd act CGI "blood", some of the acting, some dialogue, and for me the "big hacker vampire" cringe haha). But, when you consider that it came out before "The Matrix" and "Underworld" you can't help but respect what it did in terms of visuals and style. I think it definitely seems to have influenced those other two films which came out following it. Overall, though, this is a great, fun film and the whole package is even better. This 4K transfer is really great and detailed and the audio is pretty nice as well. The steelbook edition is awesome as well and I like the artwork they chose. This is a great purchase for fans of the film (like me), Marvel/action fans, or those who like films from the 1990s.

While this version of Blade will not be part of the MCU as it is known today it represents the start of the modern Marvel movie films, pre-dating any other modern adaptation. Despite being the first modern Marvel adaptations it remains one of the best, with mostly solid stunt work and practical effects that hold up. Some of the CG doesn't work as well as it did upon release, but it's used sparingly, and the well choreographed fights more than make up for it. This new release of the film is solid, and the steelbook is very nice for collectors.

I don't have 4k but since I wanted the blu ray and this steelbook was so nice,I couldn't pass it up.First of all,this is a gorgeous steelbook.One of the best I've seen so it was worth a purchase just for that.Since I only had the first Blade on VHSmthis was such a step up.This film looks great in HD plus it has some great special features which is impressive because Blade was a early release in the Blu Ray format and back then,lots of the first disks were barebones on special features. This was definitely worth the buy for me.

I absolutely LOVE this movie and I’m so happy it got a well-deserved 4K transfer and beautiful steelbook packaging to boot. This is definitely the definitive edition of this movie, so if you’re a fan of Blade this is a must have. I will say the CGI did not age well and the 4K transfer doesn’t do it any favors since having that much detail makes shoddy CGI even more noticeable, but for for fans it just comes with the territory. Luckily the bad CGI is only noticeable in the opening club fight scene and the big ending fight. Aside from that a perfect movie and would love Marvel to pay tribute to their roots in the MCU one day.

Finally…Blade 1 on a 4k UHD disc with HDR! The steelbook looks awesome. I was really hoping they would have included Blade II as well since it was better than the first one or at least a blade collection with all three movies in 4k (even though the third movie wasn’t that spectacular)

I love the original Blade movie trilogy. The 4k version of blade one looks fantastic. The HDR does not distort the image by messing with the contrast of dark spots on the screen. It justs looks fantastic in 4k. If you are a steelbook collector, this is a must-have case. The front back and inner images all look really cool. I highly recommend this to anyone sitting on the fence who loves the original Blade movie

A fun romp into Wesley Snipes movies with equal parts action and cheesy special effects.

This is one of the better vampire movies. Wesley snipes is great in it.

Everyone credits the original Spiderman or the X-Men as the movies to kick off the marvel comic book phase but in reality this is truly the one to do it. Wesley Snipes is truly the complete Blade package with his style, martial arts, and attitude. I'm excited to finally see him coming to the MCU in the future but this and Blade 2 will always be my favorites.

blade is a good comic book movies of the late 90's when i saw this in theaters i was blown away how good it is and since blade came out there has been some good comic book movies and some not so good but blade is a good movie from start to finish too bad the sequels wear just ok compare to the first one they need to make one more to make up for the last two and the end serious on a good note so if you want to watch a good vampire comic book movie than check out blade and the blu-ray has all extras that dvd had and it looks and sound better on blu-ray

Gorgeous steelbook packaging and a almost great 4k transfer of the film. Before there was the shared Marvel Cinematic Universe, Blade and Sam Rami's Spider-Man were the films that really got the superhero movie ball rolling and birthed what would eventually become the MCU. The opening action "bloodbath" scene is especially impressive thanks to the HDR upgrade over the regular BluRay. Nothing much new in way of special features for this release that wasn't on others, but still worth the upgrade.

I hadn't seen the movie in awhile but watching the 4K version of Blade was like seeing and hearing it for the first time. The video upgrade is amazing especially the dark colors and night scenes. The Dolby Atmos mix really takes it to another level with the base coming through. Recommended!

Movie is great and I would recommend it to anyone, but the way it was shipped damage the Steelbook. Bestbuy, for future reference please don't send a collectors item in a paper bag without any protection. I returned the copy they shipped and bought another one. This time I picked it up myself.

I am looking forward in seeing this in 4k Ultra HD HDR. And it did not disappoint. Movie is great as I am a Blade fanatic! How I wish blade 2 will have a 4k hdr be sion as well. Audio and video presentation is great. Nothing to say about it. I opted for the steel book as it look sick! Hoping for the blade 2 upgradenin 4k HDR.

Blade is finally on 4K Blu-ray. Wonderful upgraded visuals, with dark blacks. Audio is top notch dolby atmos that will keep your speakers busy. Not a bad print for a older movie. Can’t wait for the reboot which starts filming summer of 2022.
