A lovely game that pays respects to Fromsoftware's Souls franchise. Buy it and thank me later when you shake your fist at the screen in defeat after defeat.

A true Miracle of an adventure

The imagery is not for the faint of heart and the game is filled with intense action and over-the-top gore. There are some limited RPG elements but everything is easy to understand and the focus is most certainly on swordplay. Many reviews have called this a 2D souls-like, and at first that description seems spot on but as you progress and find shrines that power up your sword and rosary beads that enhance your character, enemies become easier to deal with. Incredible boss fights and secrets abound in this game that controls really well and offers a tough but fair difficulty level. I love the 16bit look of this game and beat the main game within a week of purchase. The developer, The Game Kitchen, has already released free DLC so you’re getting a little extra from your purchase right out of the box. I give this game… 9 pointy helmets out of 10

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WARNING, THIS GAME IS EXTREMELY HARD AND UNFORGIVING, the game is fun but way to difficult, you cannot level up, you can't get stronger by fighting enemies, so there is no way to make the game easier. Some enemies can easily defeat you with a few hits but it takes you up to 10 or more hits to defeat the most of the enemies, lots of enemies have shields or some way of blocking your attacks, the only way to heal is to use your healing item that you start with 2 of them but they don't fully heal you sometimes, and the only way to refill them is to find a save point. The only positive note I have to say is that if you find an item and get defeated after that you don't lose the item or you don't lose your map progress. I only recommend this game if you have a lot of PATIENCE, and don't get upset easily.

I was afraid I wouldn't like this one because I don't enjoy the 3D SoulsBorne games, but I ended up loving it.

Graphics, gameplay and music are all great. Very fun game that compares to old school castlevania 2D games. Please great on PS5 via backwards compatibility. Highly recommended!

At any rate, Blasphemous is torturously fun, and one of the best the genre has to offer.

Very Dark Metroidvania Classic!

Wow what a game!!!
