The improved screen and video output are also praised, with one customer saying, "Better screen, better video Output, more power etc." Additionally, the new Tate mode, which allows the screen to be rotated, is a welcome addition.

This is probably unpopular but it really is the best handheld I've ever had. Why? The games look good, it's so comfortable in your hands, it can be played on my TV, there's the home VS console, and most importantly the games! I'm an 80's kid and there's so many games from my youth. Plus, they're adding NEW indie games which is so amazing. I can't wait to see what comes out next. I also love that most of the games are physical and are definitely worth collecting! It's just such an amazing device. I can go and on! But finally, you can get one for yourself, get one or more for the kids, and even add the VS home console to play with family and friends! All the prices are affordable and fair!

First time buying retro handhelds, and I must say it feels and plays well. The 18 Capcom games inside with the Irem cartridge bundle is a great deal. Few issues I did have were the light bleed in the bottom of the handheld and the volume isn't loud enough but overall good product.

The "tate" mode is kinda wonky and uncomfortable, always felt like it was a baked on feature, but it's an option so that's always nice. Otherwise this thing is great, lots of great built in games, awesome value out of the box.

EXP is a great next step for Evercade

This console is a great upgrade from the original Evercade handheld, and an obvious companion to the VS home console. If you aren't already bought into the Evercade game cartridge library, I would suggest looking into the game library to see if they have games you would be interested in. I already had Evercade games. If I didn't I would probably rather get the Switch Lite for 33% ($50) more. With that being said, I think the vertical TATE mode is pretty cool for vertical aspect ratio games. The built-in offering of Capcom titles is nice, though limited. The buttons feel good, the d-pad is better than previous Evercade controllers. USB-C charging and OS updates via wifi are a plus.

Evercade systems are a good investment for serious collectors of retro arcade titles. Having owned the original handheld model and the Evercade VS, I was expecting a small upgrade in performance with the Evercade EXP. While I am waiting to see if this will turn out to be the case, I must say that the TATE option for certain titles should well be worth the investment for players interested in playing in the scrolling option this mode provides.

Much better than the first one. It includes HDMI out and Wifi connectivity. Decent battery life and still supports all the older games. Also, a new feature is Tate (as in rotate) mode. You can use this mode to play vertical shooters using the screen sideways. This limits you to two button shooters but that is a lot of shooters. I hope thy expand the selection as there are only about 14 games that currently support this mode.

Evercade EXP is more than just an upgrade from their previous handheld, it has some really near features no other handheld has tried. Most important of these is TATE mode which is awesome when trying to get that authentic feel for vertical arcade gaming screens. The device itself is well constructed and the screen is quite an improvement. I would highly recommend.

It was a rocky start with this console, but now I am enjoying it. You need to find a good "brick" to use with the charging cord, or it will not charge properly. Make sure to download the new firmware also, or it won't charge properly. System is only compatible with some headphones. It will not work with standard 3.5mm Apple headphones. There are a lot of great new scrolling shooters available for system, but without any button assignment options or auto fire, you better have a lot of dexterity in your thumb, or you won't be able to play them for long. All that said, I did get it to charge correctly and bought some alternate headphones that work. Tate mode a bit worthless to me, with no auto fire options. Maye they will add controller options with a firmware update. But even with all those issues, I really am enjoying it now! No other issues, screen is high quality and controls and unit feel good. I like to support these smaller business too.

Great system for nostalgia gamers. Incredible value for the price with top shelf capcom games already installed and a game cartridge. If you’re an 80s/90s gamer it’s a no-brainer purchase.

I bought the earlier version and a week later I saw that this version was being released. I like this version better because of the Included Capcom games that are pre loaded onto the machine without using a cartridge. I own 15 cartridges so I am set for a while. I'd like to see more Atari, Coleco, Intellivision and C=64 Cartridges in the future

System is built decent enough to enjoy games offer on system. Speakers are average at best. The main negative for system is it battery life. At times you charge it 100% and system won't charge correctly showing half charge. Firmware updates have been released to improve battery indicator but still same issue. Still waiting on improvements as Blaze Entertainment says firmware update will improve issues. Might need to return and get a new system. Hopefully, not issue with necxt system i get.
