Good for groups, not so much individuals
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well for large portions but was a headache to make a 20oz smoothie in. Even using the lowest setting cavitation was a constant issue unless you used almost 50/50 liquid to frozen fruit, and that’s just not thick enough for my taste. I know you can buy smaller wild side jars but it was ultimately cheaper to return this and buy a Vitamix. I feel like a tamper would have totally resolved my issue, but that has to be bought separately and voids the warranty.

Very quiet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only used once since I purchased. I like that it very quiet as compared to my Ninja blender. I used it to make smoothie. spinach, parsely and some frozen fruit...pineapple, mango 3 bananas that were browning. Mixed well. The blades "appear" to be dull, but they do the job.

Packaging was not the greatest
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this item as a gift for someone, and at its price point, I expected much better packaging than was presented. I felt like the item was either an open item or refurbished one instead of being shipped brand new from the factory as advertised. This also begs the question of whether BestBuy is transparent when selling discounted items as brand new (never used) vs remanufactured or refurbished items.

Great blender with a couple of flaws
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I even used the blender, I had issues. First, the instructions caution to not put hot liquids in the blender, but then has a setting and instructions for ‘hot’ soups. How does the manufacturer think you make soup? You cook ingredients and then put them in the blender hot. So, do I have to cool it completely, blend it and then reheat? My cheap Oster blender lets me go straight from pot to blender by leaving the lid off and covering with a dish towel. Then you read the cleaning instructions, which say the blender jar is dishwasher safe, but only on the top rack! Who has a dishwasher with a top rack tall enough for this jar? I am sure both of those issues are due to the jar being plastic. For the price of this blender, you can’t make the jar from glass? That said, it does a wicked good job on cold things. In fact, it doesn’t even need the amount of time it defaults to on the presents. I made a Strawberry-Banana smoothie. Put the strawberries in whole and chose the smoothie setting. I stopped it half-way through, after just 30 seconds. Not a single chunk. I did use ice cream, so perhaps the preset thinks you’re using ice cubes that take longer to chop up. I did also make soup out of leftover Thanksgiving roasted butternut squash. Just put the whole casserole (butternut squash, onions, blue cheese) in the blender – cold – with some chicken stock and chose the hot soup setting (still don’t get the ‘hot soup’ setting when they say don’t put anything hot in). Again, it took a fraction of the time to blend it all up and was smooth as silk. I’ll have to debate whether I want to test it out and make butternut squash soup the way I normally would, which would be to cook the squash in stock and put it in the blender hot. So, for blending performance, I give this machine very high marks. Great for cold beverages. But, the limitations and plastic jar make it not worth the price in my book.
