Customers appreciate the Vivo XL 4G LTE for its budget-friendly price, long battery life, and large, high-resolution screen. The dual SIM capability and expandable storage are also well-received features. While some users have expressed concerns about the slow charging speed, the overall positive feedback suggests that the Vivo XL 4G LTE offers good value for the price.

Beware if on AT&T network (bands 5 and 17 missing)

This was a great deal at 99 bucks, but fundamentally it needs to work for phone calls and mobile data on Net 10 (AT&T compatible SIM). I may still keep it as wifi only device because of the cost, thus the average rating. I really like the performance and would have used it as my main phone. Bands 2/4/5/17 are a must for AT&T and adding in 29/30 as nice to have. The Vivo XL is missing bands 5 and 17! Even when it does connect in 3G/4G (forget LTE) you get 1MB/s downloads. Coverage is spotty at best where I always got a good signal with my old phone. At work I get no signal, so this is the deal killer. If I use the same SIM and APN settings I get 4 bars of 4G LTE with my Samsung Galaxy Express with 20MB/s downloads. This is an AT&T branded phone running Cyanogenmod and is rock solid. I contacted Blu support and the CSR took my email for email support (no point in having phone support then I guess). It ended up with Blu support saying: "Unfortunately the issue that you are experiencing can only be solved by your respective service provider. Please contact your service provider for further assistance on this matter. We advise asking your service provider for a new SIM card." I ordered another SIM from Net 10, but I doubt this is going to help.

Nice phone but within 10 days a wireless software update corrupted the software on the phone and it had to be sent at my expense to New Jersey. I have now been without a phone for 2 weeks with no end in sight.

I bought the phone when it was sold for $99. I love it. I have LG G2 which restarts alot randomly lately and battery life was not that great. I can use the phone to play my game for about an hour, and the battery will drop from 100% to 85%. My LG will drop from 100% to 70% within the same time frame. Did I mention that my LG was only 4 months old? I love the fact that the battery is removable, so you can have extra battery if you use it a lot. The phone sometimes will get warm, which is far more cooler than my LG when I play my game. It does not have NFC function if you intend to use it for debit card/credit card. Overall I am very happy with it. Improvement can be made: the battery cover is filmsy, I was afraid that I may break it, and the plastic case can be better.

I'm very happy and impressed with this phone. Very nice screen (large, sharp, bright, colorful and great contrast and viewing angle. Don't let the supposedly low specs of the screen scare you. Outstanding Battery life and great performance (8 core CPU, 2GB RAM#. Included is a soft bumper case and a screen protector. No sound or battery charging issue as a noted in a previous review. Mine was charging to 100% after one day usage. Works perfect with T-Mobile LTE. Here are my 1 out of 10 ratings #10 being the best): Packing: 9 Build quality: 9 Display: 9 Performance: 8+ Battery life: 10+ Camera: 7+ Sound quality: (phone and speakerphone): 8

    Exceeded my expectations

This is my first Blu phone. I hadn't heard of Blu before, so I had no idea they are an American company that used to be a distributor for other major phone manufacturers like Samsung before selling their own phones to the public. Therefore I was reluctant to take a chance on this phone, but I am so glad I did! As the title of this review states, this phone exceeded my expectations on what a $150 phone can offer. I will never pay flagship prices for a phone again. The Vivo XL is big screened but sleek (and beautiful in my opinion) smartphone, and it has many of the features of more expensive phones at a fraction of the price. The processor and GPU aren't high end, but they perform extremely well nonetheless for my non-gaming uses. It comes with a large 3150mAh removable battery (which easily lasts me 2 days with light to moderate usage) and expandable storage (via microSD slot) that most flagship phones have done away with. The phone has a light aluminum unibody design, although the back cover is plastic so that it can be removed to access the battery and dual SIM & microSD slots. I like the look of the shiny plastic back cover, but I understand if not everyone does. The 720p Super AMOLED screen (with Corning Gorilla Glass 3) is sharp and vibrant, and more than good enough for all but the most discriminating users. The 5.5 inch screen size definitely falls into the phablet category, yet the phone is easy to hold and slide into my pocket due to how thin it is. The few faults the phone has (no NFC, no fingerprint sensor, no IR blaster, and an iOS like launcher) are forgivable given its price. I use face unlock in lieu of fingerprint sensor, and it works pretty well given this phone's 5 megapixel front camera (other phones with lower resolution front cameras have not worked so well). I also downloaded a leading third party launcher to achieve a more familiar user interface, and it has worked flawlessly so far. The 13MP rear camera is serviceable for taking casual shots, especially under well lit conditions. Other features, like the configurable double tap to wake/sleep, and smart gestures (such as drawing a "C" on the off screen to turn on the camera, or "V" to turn on the flashlight) aren't even available on many flagship phones. It even has a built in FM radio that I can use to tune to the TVs at the gym or the movies at the drive-in. The phone features a modern USB-C port that charges its big battery pretty quickly (usually in a couple of hours) with the included charger. Finally, Blu also provides a case and screen protector (as well as ear buds) in the box, who does that? In summary, this is a value phone that doesn't feel like a cheap budget phone. Unless you're an elite smartphone enthusiast or serious gamer, you will probably be more than happy with this phone.

    Good phone with some quirks

Overall is a very good phone. Despite be only 720 has a very good screen, good size, take decent pictures (I do most of my pictures with a real camera anyway). Call quality is pretty good. The dual sim options works very well. It´s pretty fast. Overall a good deal for the money. Some cons: The navigation controls are backward so will take a bit to get use to it, the buttons are all in one side, the drawer is on the bottom insteadof the top so is very frequent to trigger it when actually trying to use the navigation buttons. Type C USB is very good but you need to replace all your micro USB cables (I have a big collection).

Hated it, it did almost none of the things I expect a phone to do. Yes, it was beautiful, I loved the size and the price was terrific. But none of that made up for the fact that for me, it couldn't do what I needed or wanted. You may feel differently. Make a list of all the things, no matter how minor, that you need in a phone and make sure this one has enough of them that it's right for you.

I purchased this on 3-16-2016 and was delivered 3-23-2016. I have to set the record straight on ram. I see one person says that 1gig of ram is a drawback. The phone has 2gigs of ram. However the operating system uses about one gig of ram, leaving you a little over a gig of ram free. The phone runs great for most task. Just not playing major games or tons of multitasking. You can multitask but I don't recommend more than a few things at once, which will suffice for the average user. I haven't had the phone long but I love it. I paid the full price of 150.00 and would do it again. I don't know about you reading this review but I can't afford or really need a super phone that cost almost a months rent or house note. I installed Nova launcher and contacts & dialer by Drupe. I love the look and operation of this phone. I also installed Evolve sms and am enjoying it. I hope this helps a few people make up their mind on the purchase of this phone. Like I said it's not a super phone but has a nice camera runs great and haven't had any complaints, especially for the price of this phone. I would and have recommended this phone to friends and family.

    Great for the price

Initially I was skeptical about low cost phones. This phone is exceptional well considering it cost 149. I am a avid phone reviewer and for the price point this phone covers most basic functionality of a smart phone. Here's the run down: Build Quality: metal frame with a plastic back, not the most impressive with the plastic back but its still good, very similar to Samsung Galaxy s4 plastic back but with a nice midnight blue/ gold color. Display: even though it's not a 1080p display, 720 with amoled makes the color pop out you can't even tell its not an HD display. Software: running Android lollipop with blu interface. not a huge fan of blu interface and the launcher but you can always install google launcher, nova launcher or other 3rd party launcher. Spoke with a blu representative and they are initially working on updates to Android 6.0 marshmallow, not sure when they will release an update but lollipop does the job. Camera: not the best camera but is does the job well considering its a 13 mp camera with a 149 price point. It performs well during the day, captures some great images if you have a steady hand. Camera doesn't do well in low light settings but hey logs of $500+ phones have trouble with low light as well. Battery: outstanding battery life I can have it charge to 100% and by the end of day from work I have 58% remaining. Left it uncharged over night and woke up to 57% remaining. Overall I gave this a 5 for the price. It gets the job done. I have an iphone 6s and it runs as well. I also have a nexus 6p (my daily driver) and it compares well.I do have both gold and midnight blue. Great for older parents who have a hard time understanding Android OS and if you don't want to spend 500+ for a smartphone this is the phone to get.

Worked great for 6 weeks, now only works on wifi

For the first 6 weeks, the phone worked great. The phone did everything I needed. Coming from a Nexus 4 this was a big step up. I realize that there are better spec'ed phones out there, but from my point of view, I couldn't say anything bad about the phone. + Battery Life + Large Screen + Good Performance However, this all ended last week. Suddenly the mobile network reception got really bad. For the first couple of days I thought that it was a T-mobile issue, but by now I am convinced its a phone issue. Whenever my other phones (Motorola / LG) has a good network connecting, my BLU has no connection. I used to be able to hold a call on my daily drive home, now I only have a network connection 10%-20% of the time. (In the middle of Phoenix). Trying to get a hold of BLU support, but no luck so far.

It takes a full week to recharge the battery. Overnight, the battery charges less than 5-10%. I have no other complaints about the phone. But battery charging is a fundamental issue. DO NOT buy this phone.
