Blue Velvet was my first acting effort, and was a very strange look into the movie industry. I enjoyed working with a great group of professionals, saw sides of the industry which I found to be very strange and somewhat alarming, and learned the true meaning of the word "actor"
There were some great actors-Dennis Hopper (Stone Cold 100% GREAT Human being-Fantastic actor, easy to work with)-Isabella Rossellini (a wonderful lady 100% Genuine Human Being and the absolute definition of an actor )-Kyle MacLachlan-George Dickerson (One of my favorites in the group-Commander Swanson/ Hill Street Blues/Lots of pointers from him before scenes.
But the Movie itself!? Strange, intense, Violent, but you should have seen the deleted scenes-the edits changed the rating to R from a possible X. I have watched it a dozen times and each time get a little better understanding of the plot. Love the Found Scenes section-Don't miss it
Here is Jeff Goodwin putting my blood pump in action

Haunting, mesmerizing and sensual -- everything you'd expect from the leading surrealist filmmaker of the modern (or any) era. This is near peak-Lynch perfection and also, oddly enough, one of his most accessible. Then he gave us TWIN PEAKS <3 The MGM Blu-ray is perfectly fine although its lack of menu is frustrating (one of their follies on all blurays) so if you don't like that, get the Criterion release, otherwise, this one does just fine.

David Lynch is a well-revered director in most film circles and Blue Velvet is one of his best, and most accessible, achievements. Being something of a neo-noir, Blue Velvet follows a fairly traditional narrative and quickly spirals into something both perverse and maddening. This particular blu-ray edition of Blue Velvet showcases an impressive transfer with various special features that make it the most definitive release of the film thus far. Essential viewing!

If you like David Lynch and Blue Velvet and want the best edition of it or perhaps you've never seen it, then do not hesitate, get this DVD!
I won't provide any spoilers for those who have not seen it. See it! For those who have, this 2 DVD set has loads of extras including lengthy documentary's. More than cool, essential. Oh, and the quality is outstanding on the movie! Get it!

This is a great title from one-of-a-kind director David Lynch, who is not for everybody, but of his movies that display his trademark "weirdness" (Wild at Heart, Mulholland Dr, Eraserhead, Lost Highway, etc.), this might be his best and most "mainstream".
Dennis Hopper as bad-guy Frank Booth is worth the price of admission alone!

I had not seen this movie in ages and was surprised to find it on Blu-Ray on my last visit!
I always liked Isabella Rossellini but this, in my opinion, was Dennis Hoppers most stand out role. (If you have not seen this film before...he gives an intense, but disturbing performance, but that is what was called for).
I would be selective in whom I would recommend it to.

Only from the mind of David Lynch. Riveting from beginning to end with masterful acting, the story lulls the viewer from the everyday into a different realm. Saw it in 1986 when it came out and have watched it on a regular basis since then. Enjoy!!!

This is such a weird film, but that's what I love about movie's, some can be very strange. With that being said, I absolutely loved it and it looks real good on Blu. This is a great starting point if you want check out this director's work

A typically strange and visually interesting film by David Lynch. The transfer looks good and the audio is excellent. Most of the special features are ported over from the DVD but it is still a great deal, especially for the price.

Blu-Ray edition has HD definition which makes movie enjoyable for large screens. If you aren’t familiar with Lynch’s work (i.e. Twin Peaks), you may find the movie to be a bit weird. Being a devoted David Lynch fan, I loved the movie!

This is clearly one of David Lynch's best films. Great to be able to get it at a great price and Blue-ray image quality. His work isn't for everyone but if you really like great original films, you cannot go wrong with this one.

David Lynch has made some of the best movies to grace this earth. Among them is Blue Velvet. This film is extreme, heartfelt, and violent. Words usually cannot describe the films of David Lynch but I did my best. Check it out.

This film will get under your skin and creep you out for quite some time. Lynch was correct when he insisted on the selection of music as well. It truly is a masterpiece of film making.

I love this film so much and when I saw in the 5.99 bin I couldn’t say no. Watched it instantly and it’s never looked better. Underrated set design and cinematography shine on this Blu-ray.

The Criterion Blu-ray of BLUE VELVET drops next month, but for six bucks you can have this great-looking and sounding, Lynch-approved 1080p copy. You won’t be disappointed.

It's sick, It's twisted, it's beautiful and can be a little slow at times, but boy is it worth it. A typical David Lynch film finally released on Blu-ray.
