Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Blueair Classic 605's ability to improve air quality and its ease of use. Many appreciate the filter's long lifespan and the multiple fan speeds, although some find the highest fan speed noisy and the unit large. The app functionality is a point of contention, with some users experiencing difficulties. Overall, the purifier's positive impact on air quality is a significant selling point.

I own multiple air purifiers from different brands and this one is my favorite. Also, top rated on Consumer Reports. Got on sale for under $500. Will most likely buy a 2nd one next time there’s a sale.

Great air purifier. It is quite loud on highest setting, but it is pretty quiet on the medium fan speed. The app works well but too bad the device/ app is not part of the android or Apple home platforms.

Hard to not appreciate good, clean air. A few years ago, my wife brought home a small air filter for our bedroom. She is a light sleeper, so she immediately noticed it helped me breathe better while sleeping – yes, less snoring. Even the dog was happy with it, as it seemed to help him as he dealt with a heart and lung condition as well. Never heard of Blueair before getting their Classic 605. I have been thinking about the air quality on the main floor of my house for quite some time, and this thing should be a viable solution for the large open areas covering about 3 ½ rooms. I’m a bit of a package guy. The way products are packaged gives me a feel for how much the manufacturer values their product, and whether they care about the impression made on the customer. The Classic came in a decent package – nothing fancy. It was well protected with Styrofoam with a clear plastic bag covering the unit. The first thing that jumped out at me was the weight – it is substantial. I actually turned it over to slide it out of the box. Once completely unwrapped, the device is elegant. It’s a little larger than I thought, but it has an attractive package. There are wheels on the bottom, and they roll very smoothly. The device has a small door on top hiding the controls. I thought this was an excellent design decision, preventing easy access to kids. It’s pretty easy to get the Classic 605 up and running – plug it in and done. It lights up, and you are ready to go. There is a wifi button/indicator, a fan controller, and a filter indicator. You can use this device without wifi connectivity or app control – just tap the fan button, and it starts. The fan has 4 settings/3 speeds – off, low, med, high. When set to low, you can barely hear it, and I mean that in the sense that you won’t hear it over standard room noise – movement, talking, AC blowing, etc. I actually leaned in to verify it was on; it was. There is a distinct difference in the decibel level of speeds 1 and 2, and 2 and 3 for that matter. You can hear the fan on level 2 without trying to listen, and at level 3, let’s just say cue the mini jet. It’s not terrible, but depending on what you are doing, it will be a distraction. This is where the app shows its merit. You can schedule your Blueair to turn on and off when you want. You can control fan speed before and after, lighting brightness, and reoccurring events – pretty good stuff. If you wanted to prepare a room, so to speak, you could have the fan blow on high for a period before arriving home, then have it reduce to low while you go about your business in your living space. Another cool feature of the app is the air quality index. It displays air quality index for your area, with a map to boot. It also measures dust particle, carbon, and sulfur levels. It will take some time to get a feel for how accurate these are, but I must say this is a lot of cool information considering the reason behind purchasing this type of device is to improve air quality in your home. Should you buy one? I say if you want clean air in a large area, it’s tough to beat. It’s decent looking with a somewhat functional design, quiet but powerful, and has welcome app integration. Add air quality metrics and measurements and scheduling, and you have quite the solution. Granted, I haven’t looked into the entirety of the app functionality, but I’m pleased with what I’ve seen. Besides, in the end it’s about clean air, and this does the job and some.

I bought 2 of these because I suffer from allergies and wanted coverage for the whole upstairs. They were very easy to set up and I am happy with them. Filters are a bit pricey, but I knew that when I bought them. I gave only 4 stars because one will start doing a high pitched squeal every once in a while. I just place cardboard under it and spray the fan with WD40, which stops the noise. Just annoying when I have to do it. Only one unit does it. The other one never has.

This is the best air purifier on the market! We are very happy that it's very silent compared to a "Continuous positive airway pressure" "CPAP" machine on low setting! We can use it in our bedroom and sleep! It cleans the air in the kitchen! We cook a lot in our house, slow cooking & it take the cooking odors away! We will get another one soon! Easy to move with the wheels & looks smart!

I was wondering if a air purifier was really needed at home, one of my friends recommended me have one in the past but I didn't get it until know that I had the opportunity to tested it out and I have to say I'm happy with it. I like products that are easy to use and this is one of them, I just had to unboxed the device and set up with the app, which is so simple and helpful. Once installed, by the way it comes with little wheels to move it quickly wherever you want, I turned on and start using it. It has 3 fan speed that can be changed from the app, actually you can control everything in the app it is simple like I said before but that is the point there is not overwhelming settings. It makes noise but it is not that noisy only at max speed it can be noticeable. In this crazy times I think it is important have the most pure air at home which is the place we spend more time with family or with ourselves, this pretty nice air purifier can be a good device to consider buying if health is a priority for you, I can recommend this product.

This air purifier is excellent. At the normal low settings it's super quite. At the highest setting it is a bit loud. I usually only use the highest setting if we cook something with strong smell or if we happen to have a couple people over because of covid19, though we wear masks I feel better also having it on high as extra protection. I leave it on all day and night on lower setting. We have asthma and allergies and it definitely helps alot. Breathing is much easier and using inhaler less when exercising in same room. It's larger than I expected but that's good, it covers a larger space. I'm not a fan of the app, it works on and off and many times it goes offline even with the updated app and my internet is working. So I don't use it. I can do everything I want right on machine. If I wanted to use it, I'd probably call customer service to troubleshoot but haven't needed it since we're mostly home now. But eventually when we're back to offices and classes it'll probably be helpful for me to control it remotely. Will be getting another one for upstairs too and one when child returns to college dorm life, but it will be the smaller one. I hope it works as great.

I chose this model because my house has an open floor plan. Even though I have a smaller house, my kitchen, living room, dining area, and hallway are all open. It's roughly about 750 sq.ft. This is about the max for this unit. There would be times when we leave for the weekend and comeback home, and the house would smell slightly musty. Since we've been using the Classic 605, that hasn't been the case anymore. When we come home, it smells normal, or fresh if you will. It also comes in handy when cooking stuff like broccoli and need to get the smell out of the air. Turn the 605 on high and a few minutes later, smell is gone. It has three fan speeds, H/M/L. Low is basically silent. Medium is audible and can be distracting if your watching a movie. High is crazy loud, and I would only recommend using it for getting smells out of the air quickly. Mine runs on low 24/7 and does a very good job for my situation. The app support for this model is basically just a remote to select fan speed and LED brightness, but you can also setup a schedule if you want or need to. Likes: 1.) Fresh air 2.) Silent on Low setting 3.) Can setup a schedule Dislikes: 1.) Medium or High settings almost useless if you are home 2.) Replacement filters are expensive (Every 180 days) 3.) Rather large size unit.
