Customers are impressed with the InvisibleMist humidifier's quiet operation, large water tank with easy top-fill design, and user-friendly app. The ease of cleaning and filter replacement are also frequently praised. While some noted the lack of visible mist, many appreciate this feature as it prevents wet residue.

Pretty good at increasing humidity of a room. The in built sensor for current humidity might be a little too sensitive or off. I tested with my own external hygrometer and it was reading about 5-8 points lower

The plug on mine didn't settle in properly at first, but once I got it, it worked. So that's not a great start. Otherwise, it runs well. I don't find it to be noisy and it does keep the room nicely hydrated. However, you need the app. If you don't want another app, this is not the device for you.

The idea of a tank has no risk of accidental leakage (unless you overfill it) is wonderful and why I purchased the product thinking the wick still sat in the water. However, it uses a pump to trickle water through the little holes in the wicks holder as the water then flows back into the tank. This adds another failure point to the product and the need to replace and clean another point of the tank. This also reduces performance as it is not always wet enough when running. The humidistat is also too close to where the moist air is flowing out of the unit always causing the unit to display a higher humidity level of +15 to +25% of what the room actually is. This causes auto mode to not function correctly as it thinks the room is too humid when in fact it is below 35%. The room it is in is 9x9 and it struggles to maintain it.
Otherwise, it does "function" and setting it up in the app is easy. Getting to start the pump was a hassle as the instruction booklet did not say the I have to tell the unit I added water so the low water level light stayed lit. You have to change the fan speeds one full cycle to restart the pump. The pump setup is also "suppose" to help the filter last longer. Well, mine ran for a month and today the room its in smells musky and sour telling me the filter is icky. Blueair, get arid of the pump nonsense and make a taller wick so it sits in the pool. It will wick up to where the air holes are now much more efficiently and the wick will last the same amount of time (1 month). Wicks can not last longer than that like you advertise. The pump also makes this product MUCH more expensive than a Honeywell. Almost DOUBLE so price must come down. Again great concept Blueair just need to improve it by dismissing this pump and then you got a awesome product

This little humidifier is BY FAR one of the best I have used. We live in the D.C. area and the winters get really dry - we wanted a unit that didn't actually "mist" so initially we bought the fancy, CRAZY expensive Dyson model (which has been a HUGE pain - do not buy the DYSON!) This Blueair is easy to use and maintain/ easy to relocate around your home, and so much more affordable. 5 stars for sure!

In the winter my bedroom and skin can get quite dry. Adding this humidifier to my large bedroom has changed so many things. I no longer have dry skin, there is less dust in my room and I don’t have as many sinus problems. I am able to sleep much better.
This is a mist free humidifier. You will not see the mist coming out of the device to tell it is working. Since this is mist free, you will not have any white or sticky residue. You will also not have any water damage that may happen like other humidifiers can give you if the setting is too high
The top of the humidifier has the control panel, which is the dome at the very top. You can adjust the fan speed and put it into auto or night mode. There are also a number of indicator lights for Wi-Fi, low water, filter expiration and the auto dry mode which keeps the fan circulating to dry out the filter to avoid dampness on the filter. The device even shows the humidity level in your room. You also can lock the display, if you don’t want little hands changing setting on you. In Auto mode the sensor will turn the device on/off as needed, to ensure your humidity level stays where you want it.
I think the Blueair app is better to use on this humidifier than relying on the control panel alone. You can access more of the features than what is on the control panel at the top of the humidifier with the app. The app does so much more. You can set timers for when you want the humidifier to turn off and on along with all the other settings that are on the control panel. You will even get notifications on your phone app to let you know when the water is low or your filter needs changing.
The humidifier comes pre-assembled, but make sure to remove any tape that is holding it together from shipping. The top section, which has the control panel, easily lifts off the base. The base section holds the water and filter within it. The filter takes out any contaminates in the water.
It is fairly easy to remove the filter, once it needs replacing. You simply take the top part of the humidifier off, remove the filter from the filter holder and replace the filter being sure to put it back inside the filter holder.
You can fill the water tank at the top around the holes where the control panel is. If you chose to fill it directly into the bottom basin, it has a nice handle to carry it to your sink. I prefer to fill the humidifier in the bottom basin to avoid any contact with the control panel dome on top.

I wanted to love this but the wick filter gets moldy very quickly, even with the auto dry setting. I had to replace it after one month of use only a few times a week. I’ve started to disassemble the whole thing after the drying cycle finishes in the hopes that the filter will dry completely between uses but this is not ideal and doesn’t really seem to do much. After about 4 overnight uses the filter is already smelling musty.

Great features, but inaccurate/ineffective

I really wanted to love this Blueair InvisibleMist humidifier. It has a lot of great features that I would want in any humidifier I ever get into the future. Our house gets dry in these colder months and after getting another inexpensive brand that was working great for us, we wanted to get another for our loft which we would eventually move into our new baby's room whom we are expecting in march. It gets so dry that we start to get shocks from the static whenever we touch light switches, blankets and even our cats. I have sensitive skin and it gets easily dry as well. The other humidifier helped this greatly and we definitely felt like we were breathing better while sleeping. We really hoped this Blueair humidifier would work even better.
First, the good. Setup was easy, including the app. This includes taking the parts apart, rinsing everything and putting it back together. When the time comes, cleaning should be simple. The screen on the unit is user friendly as is the app. For those wary of using the app, almost everything can be done via the unit except setting schedules, viewing the humidity level graph/room temperature and the filter life percentage. At least that's all I have found so far. But I do recommend the app for keeping track of those extra things. Having a built in UV lamp is a bigger deal than most people would probably realize, unless you're an aquarium owner, then you know. I used to have one built into my pump for an indoor pond for years and the difference it made in keeping the water clear and clean was night & day. Despite the warning in the manual about it potentially damaging your eyes and skin if you look at it, I have no idea where it is so it must be hidden inside. So there are no worries there for anyone passing by and accidentally looking at it. On low, it's silent. The water lasts a couple of days on this speed, too, which is nice. Having a filter like this in a humidifier is a first for me but the benefits of having one outweigh the cons of having to replace it. The auto mode is another great feature if it worked, but more on that below. By far the best thing about this device is the ability to fill the unit up by pouring water into the top. This is such a nice convenience that once you have a machine that can do this, you won't want anything else.
Now for the bad. The unit has three fan speeds. It goes through water significantly faster from one speed to the next after low, but that's fine considering how easy it is to fill. While the low setting is silent, I find the medium and high settings louder than I'd like. I don't know if it's just my unit, but on the medium setting the fan has a bit of a rattle to it that is only noticeable when close to it during the day but at night when it's really quiet like when you're trying to sleep, it's pretty audible and bothersome to me. Minus that inconsistent rattle, I think it would become just white noise. On high, the sound jumps significantly to where it would be too loud for my taste while trying to sleep. There is a night mode which I thought would just turn off the display. However, it also turns the fan off so if you wanted to raise it with the display off, you have to turn the brightness down or off, but then back up later if you prefer. Fortunately the display isn't that bright to begin with so at least there's that.
The biggest problem I have with this device is it just seems very inaccurate. I first put the machine in my loft right near where my thermostat is so I could compare it to that as well as my other brand in our bedroom. When I first plugged it in and used manual mode, it was reading 50% plus which I thought was odd. My thermostat showed at this time about 40% or a little under. It was also showing the incorrect temperature on the app saying it was about 10 degrees colder than the 2nd floor actually was. I figured maybe after some time these things would adjust. It didn't take long for it to change, however for the humidity the reading went up, not down. It was now showing 60% plus which I knew wasn't right. I left it going like this for the next 24 hours and it just fluctuated around 55-60%. The temperature reading didn't really change. My other brand in our bedroom is always close or matched the thermostat. After giving the Blueair another day in the loft, seeing no change in both it's reading or really no change on my thermostat, I decided to switch the two devices, moving the Blueair into our bedroom. That way I could compare since I know there can be some variation from room to room, but it shouldn't be THIS much. From here, I left the machine powered on but didn't turn it on for hours to see if it would adjust. Upon starting, it did drop 10% at start to around 45% and the temperature did eventually match the thermostat. Still higher than what my thermostat was reading (now 35%ish at night) but much better. Figured the other device had did it's job earlier as well and that moisture was retained in the room. After being on for hours, it was once again reading around 55% in my bedroom now and the temperature now 5 degrees colder than it was. A day later, I swapped their locations again. While the Blueair did drop down closer to what the other device and my thermostat was reading finally, overall it was always around an average of 10% higher (often more) then it probably should be. It just seems to be all over the place. Because of these issues, using the "auto" mode is out of the question because it will never be able to keep a lower set level if it always thinks it's already humid. While of course I expect there to be a difference in a room when using the product, there is no way my humidity level is 55-60% in any given room. I wonder if the sensors are thrown off inside by whatever InvisibleMist technology because it's converting it to vapors first instead of just expelling it, thus retaining moisture inside.
Above all this, my wife and I aren't even sure if we feel like it's that effective. We started getting shocks again and my skin was feeling drier again even after a few days of it on while we left it in our bedroom. After I did the switch with the other brand the final time, we once again noticed a change in air quality quite quickly, unlike this one. If this Blueair humidifier actually felt like it was making more of a difference, I would be willing to maybe look past the very inaccurate readings. Perhaps my house is different and this is just a problem in my particular situation, who knows. While it may look nice with no mist shooting out, perhaps the biggest downfall of invisible mist style is it just doesn't have the same strength. Although my bedroom and loft are definitely under 500 sq ft and it should work fine, I will still try it in the babies room since it's much smaller to see how it does but I'm wary of not being able to trust it. The best thing I can recommend to anyone having the same issue is try calibrating the unit by plugging it in but don't turn it on until hours later to see if you get a more accurate reading from the start.

Much better compared to ultrasonic alternatives
|

I got this Blueair humidifier for use in a medium-size bedroom where I had previously used various small ultrasonic humidifiers. The Blueair is not supposed to have the same “dust fallout” that an ultrasonic generates, which was one of its big attractions for me. Functionally, this unit has so far worked as advertised and keeps the room at a comfortable level overnight (the only time that I have it turned on). However, it seems to be capable of a lot more if required.
First off, it’s a lot larger than I pictured but it still fits in the designated location in the room. I can see that it’s designed to run continuously and control the humidity of a fairly large area, but again it’s been perfect for overnight use in the cold winter weather. The water capacity is a lot more than it first appears. There are two different ways of filling it but so far I’ve only used the method of taking the top section off and filling the base directly under a faucet. It can also be filled by pouring water in from the top.
There’s a touchpad control panel on the top where you can turn it on and off, put it into a couple of different modes, etc., but the important settings are best done from the associated app. Using the app, you can connect the humidifier to your wifi network and then use the app to do things like setting the target humidity level in percent. This is superior to the ultrasonic units that I’ve used, which usually just have a dial that controls the amount of mist coming out but don’t have any precise control over the humidity level in the room.
One thing that surprised me is how quiet it is. Since it works on evaporative technology it doesn’t make the constant sound of other typical models. There is a fan, but even that runs silently when the unit is put into “Night Mode”, which also dims the illumination on the control panel. Nice!
The only drawback might be the maintenance, especially if following the manufacturer’s guidelines to the letter. All humidifiers should get regular cleaning – and this one scores highly for having a reservoir that is dishwasher-safe! – but they also suggest soaking the main filter unit in a mild citric acid solution. I’m not sure that I’ll bother with the latter since the filter needs to be replaced every few months anyway. Since I only use it for about 8 hours a day, I’m guessing that replacing the filter once each winter season might be sufficient.
In sum-up, I’ve been very happy with the way that this has performed so far and it’s definitely made a big difference in my sleep quality during this season of forced air heating.

Helps battle dry central air heat in the winter!

Anyone who lives in a house with central air heat in the wintertime knows how dry the air can become. My wife and I have a hard time particularly over night with the air drying our our noses sometimes causing nose bleeds or making uncomfortable to breathe. Even sleeping with our mouth open causes dry mouth/throats. So a humidifier is needed. The various humidifiers I have used have all had their own issues. The humidifier we were using just before the Blueair, is a small cheap one from bezos land which have had no issues yet, but filling it was annoying, due to the shape and the fact that it needed to be flipped upside down and cap unscrewed. It got to be a pain after a while.
The Blueair is the most expensive humidifier I have ever used. But it is also the nicest. Everything comes apart easily for cleaning. The main water tank has a large generous opening I can fit my entire hands in the tank to clean it. The best part is that the Blueair can be top filled. I have a pitcher that is the perfect size for the tank. Just turn the unit of and pour it into the the grate at the top and turn it back on. Could not be easier! Operation on the 2 lower settings are near silent in my room. The highest setting is audible but overnight sounds similar to white noise. The Blueair doesn't have a visible mist coming out of the top but if you place your hand over it you can definitely feel the moisture. I generally do not like the idea of filters that I need to purchase over and over, but if it helps us sleep then I will have to deal with it.
The Blueair can be connected to your phone via their app, from there you can remotely control the humidifier and check the units condition as well as the condition of the room it's in. I like that I can see humidity level as a graph showing if the air is too moist or dry. There is also an autodry function that will automatically run the unit to dry out the filter to prevent bacteria and mold to form on the filter. Schedules can also be set up or even a run timer via the app automating when the Blueair will run or turn off with no interaction from you other than topping off the tank. One thing to note about the app is that it will give you the humidity and temp of the room, but only after it begins an operation cycle.
So far my wife and I have been enjoying this our new Blueair. Nights are getting colder which means the house will get dryer and for our initial impressions we are sleeping comfortably.

Great humidity patrol for dry winter weather

I got this unit to use in my office where I spend most of my day. With winter weather setting in, I can see the humidity continue to drop to where it was uncomfortable and my sinuses started to act up.
Having dealt with the usual type of makeshift humidifiers in the past, this is a nice departure. It sits nicely in the corner of the room and it runs quietly at all 3 speeds. The unit has a good water capacity (almost 1 gallon), with me only having to fill it about every other day.
The digital display on top of the unit makes it easy to operate and to see the current humidity level. It is easy to tap the display to set the desired humidity level (it is nice to 'set it and forget it'). While I am quick to download and use a mobile app with most devices, I have not done that with this unit as I don't see a need to do so (I can do everything that I need to with the digital controls on the top of the unit).
It is definitely easiest to refill the unit by pouring water into the top of the unit, versus removing the top portion of the unit in order to remove the fill bucket.
I definitely recommend this unit.

Compact, Easy to Use, & Stylish (for a Humidifier)

Now that winter is setting in where we live, my wife asked for a replacement for her previous humidifier which went on the blink. She spends a lot of time in her home office and that is probably the coldest room in the house so she has a space heater going in there and that tends to dry out the air (in addition to the normal low humidity we experience). Her other humidifier was pretty simple but a pain in the rear to fill and the Blueair InvisibleMist humidifier looked a heck of a lot nicer and easier to use than her old one.
Setting up and filling the Blueair InvisibleMist was a piece of cake, especially since it doesn't require distilled water to fill it. Use tap! It has a filter that will hold on to the salts and minerals in your water, no problem. I was able to fill the reservoir bucket with its attached handle easily from the bathroom sink next to her office. Her previous humidifier's reservoir was odd shaped and when you flipped it over to put it back on its base, invariably water would leak out.
I didn't get a chance to show her how to operate the humidifier before she needed to use it but even being as tech-unsavy as she is, she got it going without a problem. Controls are pretty intuitive, though she didn't know that she could tap the 'Auto' mode several times to set a humidity percentage. All-in-all she thought it was great though she does like the fact that her previous humidifier shot a stream of humid air wherever she directed its nozzle. She would normally have this directed right towards her face to help keep her eyes moist. The InvisibleMist is a 360 humidifier and works more to bring up the entire room all at once. Still, once she got it up to about 60% in her office, she was comfortable.
The only drawback I could really think of for the Blueair InvisibleMist is that it sucks through water super fast! I think that is partially because of its method of humidifying the air, but also because of the Auto Dry feature which drys out the filter between uses to prevent mold and mildew from building up. Also, because the humidifier is more open, you lose more water from just general evaporation, while her previous system was a closed system and would lose very little between uses. That being said, at least I don't have to continue to shell out for bottles of distilled water any more! Though it does have a consumable wick filter and a smaller sponge filter for the pump. It does say that you can clean the wick filter with citric acid, though I don't know if that is enough to fully refresh it or whether you still need to replace the wick filter anyway.
My wife is very happy with the Blueair InvisibleMist humidifier and I think it would be great for any small to medium sized room. It is quiet, easy to use, and easy to maintain. Can't ask for much more.

This is my third foray into Blueair... And like my previous two experiences, I am not disspointed. this Blueair - InvisibleMist 0.9 gallon Evaporative Premium Smart Top-Fill humidifier is a great addition, if you need it.
Having a pretty small cabin in the Colorado Front Range Foothills, the winters can be biting. And when it does get cold, the heater and the fireplace really dries out. While we have a whole house humidifier in our main house, our cabin is only 3 rooms with baseboard electric heat and the fireplace. Needless to say, the air can get quite dry. And sleeping in dry air, it's not uncommon to get dry noses and lungs, and also the occasional bloody nose.
Enter the Blueair - InvisibleMist 0.9 gallon Evaporative Premium Smart Humidifier... We visited the cabin last weekend, and as usual, we cranked the baseboard heat when we arrived and started a nice, roaring fire to get the internal temp up the low 70's. And as usual, the air started to dry out. We set up thiis uinit and within 25 to 30 minutes, we could immediately feel the differece. And at night, the comfort of sleep was considerably better.
For our unique situation, this is the perfect solution. If you have the need, this is the perfect solution!
