This is an excellent product which could use a little more friendly user interface. We have hundreds of CD's that we can now record, freeing up lots of cabinet space. There are virtually no written instructions, and it took a support tech to email us links to a variety of helpful materials. Unfortunately, most were written in Geek, not incredibly helpful to us older folks (who, BTW, are most likely nowdays to have extensive CD collections). This market could blossom if aimed at the right demographic and had easier interface and better documentation.

the almost perfect device, easily switching between stored music and streaming services. Would like blue tooth control from the phone (node has this) but the ethernet works well in a connected offcie from a computer. the device looks like another disk drive on your computer and can be mapped for easy copying of your digital music files. Easily rip your CD's with built in drive.

I have been able to put over 300 cd's on the "vault" and have plenty of room left to spare. The music streaming is great and have listened to radio stations around the world.

Although there is a steep learning curve to fully grasp the system and apps, I am pleased with the capabilities and sound quality of Bluesound. I really love having my music available to me anywhere in my home via iPhone,iPad, or computer. I also found Bluesound support to be effective.

This component was easy to set up and rips bit perfect FLAC files of your CD collection. Also decodes and renders MQA high Rez files from Tidal.

Unreliable - Avoid this product

This product was attractive to me as I had a large number of CD's to rip and liked the idea of an integrated approach to storing my music digitally. The integration is however also its weakness: if something fails, the unit becomes an expensive paperweight.
The good:
- Ripping a large CD collection works well with the Vault. Some of your more obscure discs may not be found, but that is rare.
- Storage provided is adequate for most needs.
- Sound quality when paired with an appropriate amplifier and speakers is always excellent.
The bad:
- This Vault is essentially a Bluesound node cobbled with a CD reader (only CD's BTW, and not SACD or other HiRes music discs), and 2TB of storage. Very expensive when you consider what the three separate functions would cost.
- Meta tags from ripping, album art etc. must all be carefully checked if you have a large library.
- Failures: the achilles heal of the vault is reliability of the storage. And when it fails, it fails hard: your library is no longer accessible by any other devices. Yes you can back up your Vault, but no real way to restore your music to anything other than a vault. Which leads you to:
- Poor warranty. At only one year for hardware, you are left high and dry by Bluesound to deal with the failure. Nor anyway to get your music back.
In short:
- Poor value relative to the functionality provided
- Poor warranty, and you should count on an eventual failure of your storage and plan accordingly
Don't purchase a Vault from Bluesound. Your are far better off with a Node and using professional quality storage, and ripping your CD's with a computer.

Built in DAC for High Resolution Music along with the ability to play MQA (Master Quality Authentication) recorded music, this unit has excellent sound. TIDAL, is just one of the streaming music services this Streamer/Server can accommodate. With a 2TB Capacity Hard Drive you can store a very large music collection. The player has a built in CD ripper which rips your files in FLAC one of the more preferred formats for streaming. Wonderful sound and a user friendly App (Android or OS) makes this unit worth the price. Highly Recommended

Be Prepared to Spend A Lot Of Time Setting Up

Great sound. Software is very immature. Be prepared to spend a lot of time setting up this unit. If you are not a tech person, avoid this unit. For $1,200 this should work more like an Apple. The Network Share and Local Share cannot automatically detect anything. Apple play lists do not work. Spotify will show playlists but when you click on songs it plays something completely different. This is not a spotify issue but a Bluesound issue. Again, be prepared to spend a lot of time fixing issues that other systems do automatically.
